Vasiliy Lomachenko, a three-weight world champion, will make his triumphant New York City return in the 12-round main event Saturday, October 29 against undefeated contender Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.
The 10-round featherweight co-feature sees two-time Cuban Olympic gold medalist Robeisy “El Tren” Ramirez attempt to author a career-best win against former world champion Jessie Magdaleno.
U.S. Olympic silver medalist Richard Torrez Jr. (3-0, 3 KOs), who is coming off a 44-second knockout over Marco Antonio Canedo in August, looks to make it 4-0 in a six-round heavyweight special feature.
Lomachenko-Ortiz, Ramirez-Magdaleno, and Torrez Jr. headline a card that will stream live and exclusively on ESPN+. Promoted by Top Rank, tickets starting at $56 go on sale Thursday, September 15 at 12 p.m. ET and will be available to purchase at Ticketmaster.com.

Teo, a power counter puncher. Loma knew that there was a possibility of getting hurt badly this fight. I actually agree with Lomas strategy, but it wasn't enough. Teo just had his number this fight. When asked why he didn't risk more the first half of the fight I remember Loma replied " he's strong, fast and dangerous". Gotta respect Lomas honesty
I think he was confused tbh. Watching Loma early on in his career I had stated that the right offense to use against him was a jab to incite a reaction followed by a hard straight right to the body to score and bother and another jab to cover your exit. Loma likes to evade to the inside as it puts him in great position to avoid with beautiful counters so you know that most of the time he'll try to slip the jab towards your right to allow you to score. Throwing the straight right to the body also makes it more difficult for him to counter on the back end.
Lopez abandoned that punch when Loma started taking the initiative and it allowed the fight to become Lomas fight. Teo tried boxing a more conventional fight with him and Loma is excellent and winning rounds in that style. Had he taken a step back and started to bring that long right to the body again and follow it up with jabs to the head he would have stifled Lomas offensive efforts in 9-11 and walked away with a huge win and very little controversy.
Loma was injured in this fight... That's why he barely threw. Had nothing to do with strategy or Teo. A healthy Loma wipes the floor with him.
Shuddup dude - after the fight Loma's shoulder injury was revealed - with actual proof he was injured. Everyone trying to say Loma was this, teofimo was that (big and strong) Loma had to preserve his shoulder - and look what happened from Rounds 1-6, Teofimo didnt really do much but throw alot of shots that missed or grazed or got slipped and blocked. Rounds 7-11 Loma started lighting up teofimos face with CRISP CLEAN SHOTS. Round 12 - you see Teofimos head snapping back. Teofimo threw alot more punches, but most missed or got blocked. If Loma's shoulder wasnt injured, From round 3 and on, would have been more of Teofimo getting lit up until he quit or got knocked out.

You guys have no clue how much respect boxing owes Teofimo just off this performance, they were calling Loma one of the best fighters of all time, this was for UNDISPUTED, and when teofimo beat the #1 or #2 fighter in the world, they decided to call Haney a real champion, forever will have my respect for defeating Loma, at that moment in boxing NO lightweight was ready for Loma so for Teo to accomplish this was incredible. Still think he should get a nutritionist and come back for those belts @ 135.

It was a draw, the same way Canelo vs GGG 2 was a draw, the same way canelo vs GGG was canelo's loss. Most people cant see whats really happening in their - when this guy said "sober" he watched the fight - indicates hes usually drunk else he wouldnt feel a need to insert sober. But either way, Teofimo has shown what a lucky dog and C level fighter he ultimately is, and Loma has endured and will eventually reclaim all his belts when he makes easy work of Haney. It's amazing to see that Loma almost knocked him out in rnd 11, with torn ligaments in his shoulder, and after having essentially given away the first half of the fight intentionally, with no activity, so as to save himself for the last half. If anything, it shows that Teo just isn't on that level. And I like Teofimo. He's a great young fighter, and will continue to post classics. But a healthy loma walks over him in a rematch. There's no way Teo's camp would ever offer one. They're completely aware of this

Honestly we can all see that Lopez didn’t connect any significant punch until the last round. All he did was going forward for the first half of the fight but didn’t connect anything significant. If we count who connect more clean punches, that was Lomachenko, it’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.

He had to declare months before the fight the medications he was taking for shoulder pain to Vada, the commission, the promoter, etc, to prevent a positive result in a drug test, a boxer can’t hide that, he is obligated to declare it, so it’s a fact that he was injured. It’s not the first time, he also fought very cautious against Pedraza and waited until the second half of the fight to let his hands go. So there are strategies a boxer use when he is not at his 100%. You can say that he could postpone the fight, well yes, but it’s not that easy when you are under contract with clauses and penalties involved.

I don’t think Loma is gonna beat Haney right now. I know that fight is potentially gonna happen next but I would favor Haney over Loma Simply because Haney is longer and has one of the best jabs in boxing and the skill and athleticism to match Loma step for step. I got Haney by UD it’s crazy to think that Haney might be the first Undisputed Champion to be a betting underdog.
Two fights ago Loma absolutely destroyed a guy whos way longer and taller than Haney, and who arguably hits harder, Loma wont struggle with cutting the distancs Haney has no power to keep him away like Lopez, and once he gets on the inside hes unmatched, I say this is a very bad matchup for Haney. Kambosos was hitting him clean on the inside

Haney defense is superb according to compubox stats Haney landed in the double digits every round while Kambosos only landed double Digit punches in rounds: 1&9. Even more impressive In round 10 Haney Landed (34) punches to Kambosos (1). Haney washed Kambosos even more comfortably the second time (202) punches to (74) for Kambosos. I didn’t see George having any success in close or from any range to be honest. Haney doesn’t have the power that Teofimo has true but all the success Teofimo had against Loma was set up after a Jab or counter punches. Haney has one of the best Well educated jabs in boxing and he’s natural counterpuncher that knows how to control distance with his feet and length. It’s gonna be a lot harder for Loma to hit Haney than you may think. It’s gonna be a good fight but I see Haney pulling away especially if he continues to use his jab effectively and stays disciplined on defense.

Just started watching and this is suppose to be Teo's best "win". round 1- only highlight 1 body shot. round 2- 0:48-0:53 hits glove, 0:54- rest of highlight maybe ne body punch lands rest were glove shots, in fact Loma lands two sharp left hands 1:10-1:12. round 3- all glove and arm shots lol. And that's so far of me watching cant even find good highlights for teo.
Go watch the full fight. Less than a minute of the 2nd round, Loma went to work on Teo but they'd cut that part out..... They even cut out the part when Teo's ex wife's terrifying reaction of Teo getting obliterated in that 2nd round.

this fight showed Loma biggest weakness, he cant fight off the back foot. If you back him up, surprisingly someone with his great amateur background, he doesn't have a clue what to do. He has to go 1st, if he isnt coming forward, going 1st, he isn't effective. you would think someone as decorated as him, would be able to adjust, fight another way.
