Top Tableau Building Board Games To Hit The Table With
According to Board Game Geek a Tableau Building Game is one where players have a visible tableau or array of cards, tiles, actions that they can spend actions or resources on to activate which determines the order, quality and quantity of resources or further actions that a player can take throughout their game.

Think of a tableau as a player's control panel where each button has a different function and when the different buttons are pressed they perform different actions. The combination of these actions is frequently or commonly known as engine building.
There is an immense sense of freedom when it comes to building a tableau of actions. Tableau building games gives players a sense of ownership over the direction of their gameplay. Building a strategy that helps to yield a player extra resources, bonuses and effects helps them to build a more efficient engine and system.
Games like 7 Wonders, Race For The Galaxy, Wingspan, Terraforming Mars are a few games that really allow players to build a system of actions that work in synergy. Much like in games such as Magic: The Gathering, building a good combo means having the right pieces that help to work together to develop a winning strategy or achieving your win condition.

I prefer 51st State over Imperial Settlers and Roll for the Galaxy over Race.
Puerto Rico and Castles of Burgundy would be my top tableau builder though.

My friend loves engine builders of every kinds and has all these games but everdell (another friends said he'll get it), imperial settlers, and race for galaxy( I own the roll version).
I prefer Roll for the Galaxy over Race.
And Wingspan is impossible to find.
Tournay is one of my favorite tableau game. Not evening love for tournay.

Yes. That is true. In these types of games you mainly focus on building your own engine and elements of your tableau. :D
