I love all the opening themes. But XYZ was amazing and has a special place with me. I loved the darker theme of it. It really felt like it was aimed at people my age who have been following pokemon from when they were little kids!

I mean, XYZ was set in France, and Sun and Moon was set in Hawaii. I'm sure if you took a plane to France and spent a day there, before going to Hawaii for a day there, the tones would definitely be drastically different.

The Johto Journeys is really just a happy song I can just vibe while listening to it. I also like how they brought the words from the original song back in XY but overall XYZ has got to be the best
its not very musically competent tho... its pretty much just the melody repeated over and over again. There is more variation in the MLP FIM theme. Now Advanced Battle has bridges, breakdowns, and chorus, and moves between them. If you would like to see this in action skip around randomly in the theme and it all sounds the same on xyz, where advanced battle has specific identifiable sections.
Basically what I am saying is Modern music is gray, relying on simple emotions, 15 years ago it was colorful and relied on story telling.

Each one of these songs brings out an irreplaceable feeling of happiness in some kid depending on when that kid watched Pokemon. No kid is impacted by every song, but every kid is impacted by at least one, they are impacted by *their* Pokemon song.

Love how they basically remade the original op for x and y it turned out so good.
Nothing beats the original - (one of the most recognized intro songs ever) but many of these are great. Some of them I didn't like at first but grew on me as I watched the season - like the Alohan ones. I actually love the Journeys song.
I also like diamond and pearl
I really like most of them, but none of them can ever really beat the original.
I can relate, primarily with Pokemon Advanced generation, all the song i didn’t like at first but quickly grew on me as I watched the season

God, the Original Theme may still be amazing, but for me it will ALWAYS be Pokemon Advance. Because it’s just that good.
Advanced Battle specifically I think is one of the best pokemon intros of all only a couple of the others compete in my books

I keep coming back to this video, as I'm 23, singing every lyric, on the verge of tears or crying. But this is a huge part of my childhood and I can't help but shiver and get excited when I hear these themes no matter where I am.

Btw what I meant by "family dynamic" with XY and XYZ is that well Clemet and Bonnie for one and that Bonnie loved spending time with Serena and Clemet trusted her to take care of her! I am laughing how many times Bonnie roasted her brother and tried to get him a girlfriend because "I can't take care of you forever". They also supported and helped eachother a lot. Pikachu and Ash loved cheering on Serena during her Performances. Bonnie was happy and I think once said she was happy its like she had a sister now!

As of today Ash became a champion winning the Pokemon World Championship. He became the very best and one has to wonder? Will he awake from his coma?..i’ve been a pokemon fan for over 20 years my first pokemon version game was Pokemon Blue, and nope never caught Mew not under the truck

The original theme will always be the original, but JN and XY/Z have that something that makes them get stuck in your head. XY's openings manage to pump you up everytime you listen to them, while JN just gives you that good vibes to make you chill and smile even when you are down.

Even though I haven't really watched Johto, their opening hit high, but I do have a place in my heart for all of the opening, as I have seen or heard all of the opening many times.
Sidenote: I have completed the Kanto series, which is Indigo League and Orange Island, Kalos, which is XY and XY and Z, and Alola and did watch Diamond and Pearl, Black and White, and XY in Cartoon Network, but for DP, BW, Some Advanced episodes, and Johto, I haven't completed them.

You know i read this comment before hearing that opening. You are absolutely right, its not my favorite but damn it certainly hits different, such a interesting and different vibe than every other opening.
The beginning was a little too cringe worthy for me but the buildup to the last part was so hype.

The Johto theme, like the original, will never get old for me. When I was a kid, I'd _always_ max out the volume of the TV when Johto's theme was playing. It was _that_ enjoyable to me. And you know what? It STILL is just as enjoyable now as it was over 20 years ago.

Pokémon was the childhood, and the new seasons still seem fun at 24! What a timeless series
The fact I grew up on things like indigo, black and white, and xyz and now I get to see this franchise grow so much more makes me cry every time seeing the journeys theme
The only reason why I'm rewatching pokemon is just to bring back those feelings that I felt while watching it. The joy back then is just incomparable and also the nostalgia when I see the eps that I randomly watched as a child hits me. I'll always love pokemon and it will always have a place in my heart.

I didn't like XYZ when I first heard it, but I think it's one of my favorites now. The music is just fantastic, and it has a totally unique vibe to all the other ones.
One word to define this: Nostalgia
My favorites are Pokemon Galantic Battles, Battle Dimension DP, XYZ and The Jorney Starts Today! XYZ because of the family kinda dynamic they had. I think the saddest thing about Pokemon is that Ash leaves his friends and Pokemon....he built friendships with them. I have watched Pokemon since I was a little...but I am not that old! It influenced my life and till this day I still jam to some of the themes and love watching it!
My Pokemon song will always be the Battle Frontier theme. It was probably the first time a theme song ever filled me with genuine hype and I will never forget how awesome it was to see that series on tv.

I love XYZ so much it’s legit my favourite theme but the lyrics are just so beautiful it makes me so happy like it encourages me to do well in life. The original makes me cry.
