Hikaru in his video gonna be like:
"Welcome back everyone! For TODAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYS Video"
not accurate. There should be 10 billion 'Y's

TODAY we will be looking at a game from the 2024 candidates in Toronto played between GRANDMASTER Alireza Firouzja and popular Streamer HIkaru Nakamura
@@aaaaaa-rr8xm Not accurate either. You forget the beginning pause with 10 billion "........" into "Welcome back"
lol, i cant stand his intro
Alireza made the fatal mistake of turning a classical game into a blitz game versus one of the greatest blitz players of all time.
Yeah, Hikaru is one of the best in blitz, too bad he is without any crown for it. I still didn’t understand why he skip last year world blitz championship. Expecting him to play against Magnus, without him Magnus took it easily.
Firouzja has reached 2900 in FIDE blitz rating (so has Hikaru).
Firouzja is one of the very best Bullet players on the planet
@@randomguy8107 bullet has nothing in common with blitz
You’re acting like as if Firouza isn’t a top class blitz player
8:38 Bro trying to hide his laugh 💀
„Shocked“ 😂
😂😂
Love Danya's reaction at 6:33 how he goes wow.. quickly calculates and sees the full idea to the eventual fork
Good Video, It is amazing how Hikaru keep its cool until the end. The experience is showing.
Really great job by the commentators to point out the practical difficulties caused by the position and the clock. Tough loss
you could tell they were exhausted too after commentating that long lol
8:17 the most awkward pawn move I have seen 😂
Is.. The Comeback... Possible? 👀🍍👑
First half of Ding's candidates were a lot worse than Hikaru's so far and he's world champion, so yeah the comeback is possible
Yessss
Hell yeah lets go hikaru!
@enderduck4253 yeah but this candidates hikaru need to finish number 1 to challenge ding as defending champion from last year. Last year magnus decide to not defending his title so no 1 & no 2 candidates standing play each other.
Yes he will win this tournament and look back at this when he refused to play for the draw and reminded the world he is the best blitz player in the world besides Magnus and can beat anyone when he goes for it
Firouzja's glasses are fire though🔥🔥
His style actually
They don't call him Guccireza for nothing
bro looks gay what are you talking about
@@erik-arnoldkovacs6426he likes fashion a lot
Heartbreaking for firouzja. He’s young tho, he’s nowhere near done
I don't feel sorry for Alireza. The French Chess Federation has his back. I'm sure there are planned "Farming" tournaments for him in time for his continued Candidates appearances in years to come.
Bro they did that but the end of the day he played in a real tournament to qualify@@antonioalexandercastro3520
@@antonioalexandercastro3520did you have the same energy for Ding and his “tournaments” to make it to the candidates?
Shame for alireza and shame how he got there. Farmer
@@kunalgubnot even close to the same. Dude lived in China during COVID. Idiot. Not to mention he's literally champion so ya just pure horse shit from you. Well done😅😂🎉
Hikaru's reaction after Alireza's blunder shows how much pressure he was feeling, and it shows class attitude that he didn't celebrate. I imagine if this happened on stream he would break the keyboard and the chair from celebration and releasing the pressure.
He never did this on stream lol
Class is about the last word I can think of when talking about Hikaru.
Not celebrating in front of your opponent is just basic courtesy at events like this.
@@CosyBrew grow up brotha, you're a lot behind
@@riddhimaraj549 Another delusional fan of the most odious man who every played the game of chess. It's you that's needs some serious growing up... brotha!
I’m always amazed the eval bar can sit perfectly even in these complex endgame positions. Very few humans could draw this with white.
They should show multiple eval bars, so the viewer can understand the probability of them finding it vs. better players. Average viewer > SF depth 1, IM > SF depth 11, GM > SF depth 14, Super GM > SF depth 19
the wild backwards pawns variant
I watched the entire thing last night, it was amazing, seriously. Really enjoyed the commentary; Daniel, Judit, and David were all excellent. I especially enjoyed Judit's insights. Not that I am surprised of course, but she is utterly brilliant and always had tons of great ideas. I think I need to learn about her chess (I've only been playing 3 years). I'm really looking forward to this evening! I LOVE CHESS!
I was kind of surprised by how much more understanding Judit showed compared to David and Danya given their peak ratings (David's and Judit's) are very similar. I think even Danya was surprised by that since he made a lot of uncharacteristic errors in calculation and judgement - I don't think I've ever seen him make that many.
Well, Judit played in Candidates, she was a whole level above in her peak. We cannot compare ratings in different epochs, it makes little sense.
@@alanlegauche 100% agreed
We lose, we learn
Learn everywhere and play here it's not the place to learn
@@vickyrajawat1126 and still somehow, the best lessons come from the play here
@@crumbopulis you are right i think it was my fault thinking in this way
Alireza bro don't worry, the main thing is your haircut is SUPERB.
Just imagine you play 3 hours of game just to make one ONE. JUST 1 ( ONE ⬅️) mistake. Damn
💀fr this game is brutal man
6 hours*
naka needed that win in the worst way. he tricked firouzja into taking that pawn. now he's got a fighting chance. maybe he wins like 3, 4 games in a row and goes on to the title match against ding, which would be epic since he threw away the draw against vidit in the second round.
thanks for this replay !
Hikaru, playing like John Wick!! 😮

I am so happy I was in the playing hall to watch this happen in person, incredible stuff!
That C group slot time paying off!
Congratulations to Nakamura.😊😮
Damn, I really wanted Hikaru to win, but this was a sad way for it to happen.
Why is it sad?
@sam9239 because it effectively ends alirezas chance of winning the tournament
@@sam9239 Equal the whole game then it came down to one move. I'm rooting for hikaru but I lowkey felt sad for Alireza, you can see how devasted he was.
@@tamelnv7048It was more than one move. That was an insanely complex position to play with 30 seconds on the clock. There were many possible losing moves and very few really accurate to keep the drawing chances
@@sam9239 Because they played 61 moves with 97% accuracy, only for him to lose the game to a blunder in time pressure.
this game is probably the most intense game so far
Im surprised that even Hikaru's reaction seemed to express sadness when Alireza blundered. Much respect.
He was laughing lol
@@palebluedot8733show me the second where he was laughing lol

@derbarenschander7737 bruhhh I gave u the timestamp. Look again
Those knight vs rook endames are wild
Damn Hikaru caught and contained himself from laughing in alirezas face. Funny and heartbreaking at the same time.
Alireza wasn't ready for the Candidates two years ago, and I still don't think he's ready yet. It's just an entirely different thing to fight against people who are all at least your level and prepped to the teeth against you, compared to the lower rated gms Alireza has used to farm for rating points.
Knights are devilishly tricky!
"WELCOME BACK EVERYONE"
In todayyyyyyyys video
Congratulations Naka,🎉🎉,what a great comeback 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
i love naroditzsky's cinematic camera, anyone know which he's using?
He's not using a cinematic camera? It's just a normal camera with background blur I believe
It's not only the camera. He's using better lighting than the others.
Yes i also love the camera colour filter of naroditzsky, i also want to know the camera or filter or shade.
I was hoping he would put on his jacket 😁
it's ok Ali your young you still have plenty of chances don't let this get to you. Love from Syria
Can someone explain reason for resign as he can take pawn by rook then other pawns??
Firstly, Hikaru can't hide his laughing 8:37, and Hikaru's brain... 8:53
Judit giving some endgame lessons
I think it's a long time ago that Nakamura finally took one step further in his chess career.
Chat look at deeeeeezzz knights 😎 If he takes the pawn I fossilize him !!
Let's goooo Hicky!! 💪🏻💪🏻
imagine slogging for 5 hours and blundering in last minute
Gonna sound like a noob but im pretty new to watching chess. I know theyre writing their moves down but why do they have to sign all those sheets at the end? are they like score cards/records of the match? it looked like they had 2 each- can someone explain exactly what they're for?
legal in case of dispute
Bro played a bullet game against the best bullet player of all time... Result was expected.
Fresh cut , fresh loss :p
Why all chess community members spell Alireza Firouzja's name incorrect?
What was the right move instead of King takes d3
second appearance, second time Alireza just absolutely self combusts in the candidates...
Why didn't Alireza gave a few checks to increment??
he tricked fiouzja into taking that poisoned pawn.... now he's got a fighting chance. it would be epic if he punches his ticket since he threw away the draw against vidit in the second round. maybe this is the start of a winning streak.
Hikaru while streaming: takes takes and takes.......
Now: sacs sacs and sacs
😳he saced two pawns
Always love watching hikaru play. He’s the most exiting player to watch I feel like. Obv Magnus is 🐐 but hikaru is dynamic
tough one to walk off.
IRAN vs JAPAN , but .... we see the Flag of France and Stars and Stripes. The WooooorLLLd .
I’m pretty terrible at chess at 1100 elo, and I almost NEVER “see it” but this sequence of moves for whatever reason I could see it and it made watching so much more enjoyable
Nice games, wasnt exp3cting chess to he this entertainning without monster Carlsen
Hikaru channeled his inner Magnus
I literally do not draw (this time)
i guess knights on the rim aren’t always dim… 😅
HIKARU!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Hikaru’s sideview on chair tactic is “evil” 😅😅😅
godlike master play from hikaru
Always rooting for hikaru! When he’s not playing against Magnus of course lol even tho Magnus doesn’t need my rooting, just really love watching his art on the board
I'd 100% lose this with white. Too many pawns for Black and Black king is so active
I’d 100% lose it with either color.
More highlights please.
Almost everyone is loosing because of the clock. Same with vidit & alireza
Alireza should have let Wesley the rating spot who deserved it.
Hello Ali - Wesley 😅
none of the commentators can find 58 nf4
Nf4 is a very smart move for sure. Prevents Ke2 and poses major threats
You hive chao fighting chance now!
Thanks Hikaru to vengeance Wesley
So heartbroken for Alireza chocking completely a second candidates in a row
Wesley and anish are cracking up over this one
Neither of them are championship material.
So I guess this means he really cares lol
WHoever makes least mistakes wins...imao great game design
Brutal...
Hikaru's brain when the clock hits 3 minutes for each player:
"zzzz...uh? Oh we playing finally"
I'm joking.
praggy and hikaru ❤❤❤
Alireza is a very good player in defeating his French "boiled" grandmasters only to kick out Wesley So from the Candidated. Now we can see what kind of player he really is.
hell yeah!!
Super Hikaru
He shouldn't have been in the tournament to start with after that Chartres Tournament attempted manipulation then turning up to that Rouen one later on. Better luck next time.
Firo getting the karma o his life stealing Wesley's spot from Candidates by farming his points from under 1500 players in France 😂😂😂
Important win for the streamer
He beat Alireza at the candidates again
Глаза на мокром месте, бедный Алиреза 😭
Bro should've wore his pineapple shirt 🍍
😢😢One bad move and everything is gone
I hope Alireza wins the tournament and win the WCC. maybe Magnus will try and play for it
Come on Naka
Justice for Wesley So
Wesley join the chat... Hahahahha
who said knights on the rim are grim
The candidate's pretender has yet to win a game
Nice. If Hikaru wins the candidates, Magnus will flick
Classic Hikaru
Guccireza doesn’t take chess seriously. He has shown little to no improvement on his endgame technique - always making one-move blunders during the endgame 🚮
Guccireza jajjaja
You don't play chess so
Nice shave 🪒 from alireza
Just makes me curious about that Carlsen comment about only playing Firouzja. He plays as bad as Abasov.
Let this candidates tournament exposed this farmer Alireza. The guy does not deserve to be in this year's candidates.
Alireza's result for farming rating againts below GM's 😂 to be able to qualified in candidates
