I'm from Montréal, super proud to see a fellow Québecois spitting game with the best.
Thank you Eric for your continuous support, its a blessing to collaborate with you !
Francis is a blessing from the Gods to the drum community. I consider myself a very lucky person for having Francis craft my 3 mahogany costume cubanos. Thanks to Eric and the MOPERC team for making this possible ! Saludos a la comunidad des de Philadelphia God bless !
Johnny I’m in Philly too! I have a set of Ash Custom Cubanos maybe we can meet up one day I would love to hear your mahogany set , I think that will probably my next set … Great to hear there are others here in Philly with these amazing MOPERC drums!!!
Moperc is the truth!! 💪💪💪 Love my Moperc Drums and Bongos … E you the man and Francis is a beast!!! God bless you both in your professions …
Martin Luther King once said: “ I have a dream “, so now I will say the same thing: I have a dream that one day I will own my own set of those magnificent Moperc Conga drums. Great podcast guys and thanks for the invite. 😀👍🏼🙏🏼
Hey Francis!! Hello and thanks for the drums!! Just want to add something: there's nothing like my 3 piece set of Conga's from Moperc, but I didn't expect how much I'd love using my Bingba drum due to the convenience of moving it around. I have the Bingba drum near my chair when I watch TV and I play it all the time. I'd say I play it as much as I play my set. I love the sound and the convenience. Also, Eric, always love the videos. I wish there was an annual Conga/Percussion retreat/convention that existed where we could all go -maybe Cuba (or anywhere) for a long weekend, eat some great food, hear and play some great music.
Let's plan this percussion retreat here in Danville next summer ! Eat, learn, play, discover and share
@@franafrokan OMG! That sounds so great!! Count me in and I'm sure many others. The percussion community I think would really respond to something like this, especially with Moperc behind it. I can help with the planning and if help is needed.
@@franafrokan wish I could give this idea 2 thumbs up!
I enjoyed the exchange of information. Again the importance that Moperc places on the construction of a drum can not be understated. The shell and seams with the precision gluing process determine the overall quality of a Moperc drum. The hardware used and the bands reinforce the durability of the shell, which l believe creates the beautiful tones you get out of a Moperc drum. It was great to hear Francis state that with four employees the quality control of his product would never be compromised. This program served as a great endorsement for Moperc Drums which illustrated the work that goes into making a handmade drum in comparison to a mass-produced drum.
Thanks again !
I like this 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Passion percussion! Bravo guys!
Love this. Two very cool people. Many blessings to both of you!
Two very kind guys having a cool conversation. 😸
Phenomenal conversation! What a breath of fresh air to see someone so young and committed to perfecting the art and craft of Cuban drum making for the benefit of generations and generations of musicians to come. Although I owned LP Palisades drums in the mid-70's, I fell in love with the look and sound of the Cuban drum when Grupo Folklorico came out with their first album "Concepts in Unity" and Jerry Gonzales's Junior Tirado's set graced the front and rear cover. I went to "Skin on Skins" in Brooklyn and toured the shop. I was in awe of the mastery of the craftsmanship, but at 18 years old, the drums were much too steep for me to purchase (I do own two now). Francis's passion and expertise brought those memories back during this interview. I would love to visit his workplace if I ever make it north of the border. Great interview Eric, although a little rumba between the two of you would have been icing on the cake!
Thank you for this video!! I'm a percussionist/drummer in L.A. and I hope one day Tobe fortunate enough to play MOPERC!!
I enjoyed the exchange of information. Again the importance of the construction of Mopers drums can not be under stated. The shell of the drum and seams and how important is the gluing process to create that perfect bond creates and determine
Très intéressant de voir la conception des ses merveilleux instruments. :-)

I loved this! y'all should have played the drums together
Excellent
Hey Francis you're good guy bro. I feel like could have a drink and have a chat with you. I'll save some money and get in touch for a set for myself one day. Respect to you and Eric
Bro, i would get fired for playing a lot. I was the kid that got yelled at in class for beating on the desk.
I really Love You Guys. It’s like I personally know you. I can’t wait till I can Step Up!!! Much Love Brothers.
Gracias Por Aser. Unas congas. Para tocar. Rumba. Francis
Next time ask about the hardware, why remove wood structure to 'inlay' the bands into the wood, what is the benefit of "inlaying" the bands?
Francis el maestro
Eric if you find yourself in NY you can play my PMs 👊🏼
I just stepped up!! Coñoooo!!! Francis is a great guy and the drums are so amazing. I thought I would buy these drums when I retired, but He made possible and affordable for me. Contact Francis if you are interested in a real quality drum. He will make it possible for you to buy the best congas in the industry!!
16:00 true story! Paid for a black walnut and Mr Francis upgraded me to a nice Brazilian Mahogany after the incident. Yeah @Moperc
I have 3 Rumbero in Brazilian Mahogany(my avatar picture). I also have 3 sets of Bongo - Custom Cubano in Brazilian Mahogany, Custom Cubano in Cherry, and a Tropical Series in Black Walnut. These drums have a quality of sound and build that is superior to most. And Francis is a stand-up guy.
That's what happened to my Lp Galaxy quinto!
We need a picture of those triple bongos LOL
👍
I'm tired of that Thailand brand it's time that people understand the making of a quality product has to start with the foundation of the making and the technical aspect hand craft you know if perfect has been plementid? I say moperc is well known for the beautiful and the perfection let the sound just resent to paying attention to fine detail of the construction of this brand is mine exsisting 😂 it's just diserves the recognition it diserves for it's hard work in the making and the fine detail of the material to make it!!! Salud to Eric Perez your are the perfect person to interview the owner and maker just him new owner of the brand we the drummer world want thank you for taking the task of build such a wonderful clean quality of a beautiful drum moperc is finding it's self in the hands of legend drummer or drummer like poncho Sanchez and how he feels about the moperc brand it's just pure hard smart creator of learning how to create a moperc drum it's just a perfection wonderful drum the sound is amazing and really hard to fine in other brands so this is the drum to have for it's made to have a drum for life you don't need to worry for this drum changing it's sound !!
Estaría bueno bien la traducción mi inglés es muy básico y hay cosicas que no entiendo muy bien pero está muy buena la platica
@ 6:30ish, “people starting to understand the value of these instruments”: guitarist will not hesitate to plunk down 2-$3000 on a an off-the-shelf Fender, why should conga players be any different? Obviously, afford what you can afford but we should not apologize for demanding the BEST that WE can afford. Can I get a hell yeah
Alan Medina…..Hell Yeah !!
@@felipehernandez511 *fist bump*
HELL YEAH!! An item is not expensive if it's value exceeds the cost, and the inherent value of these wonderful drums, starting with the commitment to quality, to the hand selected materials, to the craftsmanship, is evident in the remarkable finished products that MOPERC creates.
@@bobyost42 f*ckin nailed it, buddy. I’m going to steal that!
