- Founded in the aftermath of the Horus Heresy, the Crimson Fists are as stoic as their Primogenitor. Having danced with annihilation on numerous occasions, most recently following a massive invasion of their homeworld, they are the perfect example of the resilience and grit of the sons of Dorn alongside the pragmatism and sense of their own founder Alexis Polux.
A huge thank you to Wib (of Snipe and Wib) for voicing Roboute Guilliman! Check out Snipe and Wib here: / @snipeandwib

I love how the Fists became more interesting and iconic *after* the Heresy. It's a refreshing change, instead of the glory days being the defining moment, it is the dark times that really bring out the best of what appear to be the vanilla of marines. Sigismund and Polux embody this most to me: underrated and subdued crusaders who rose to the fore when the night is darkest. Instead of being a simple Legion, the Fists became so much more varied (The Last Wall, geniuses Admirals, crusaders, humanitarians, defenders)
That's why Rogal Dorn, The Imperial Fists, Black Templars, Crimson Fists, and their successors, are the best of the best.
You were wondering why Kantor has the title "Lord HellBlade". It is from the HellBlade mountains where the chapter fortress was built. Before it blew up. It was bestowed by the planetary governor to the chapter master once the fists took up residency on Rynns world. It also used as the named rank of the captain of the first company. As Kantor felt it unfitting for the chapter master title to be in command of a company.
Dang it I was slow.
I’m glad I read the comments before explain Lord Hellblade
It seems that anyone derived from the Imperial Fists has the tendency to fight down to the last man (or to a catastrophically low man count)
No matter how many times nor in how many ways you beat down the sons of dorn, they'll not only survive but become stronger in the process. It's why I love the Imperial fists and there defendant chapters.
"when all else fails, an absolute pig-headed stubborn refusal to look the facts in the eye will see us through" --Rogal Dorn, attributed.
They are indeed stubborn ass muthafuqqas, almost to a fault.
For they are the last wall of the Imperium.
I find it interesting how the two most opposite of the fists descendants (being the Black Templars and Crimson Fists) come to not only respect each other but adopt iconography together. I suppose it makes sense since they're the two most badass chapters of the imperium.
Ser Ravinger Bare I meant the most badass of the sons of Dorn. I love Blood Angels, Lamenters, Salamanders, and many other chapters. :>
Ser Ravinger Bare yes? Is something wrong sir?... ;w;
Declates Crusade showed that Black Templars and Crimson Fists are real brothers in arms. Legit bros for life.
Imo, title of the most Badass mofos amongst Adeptus Atartes belongs too:
Raven Guard
Flesh Tearers
Iron Snakes
Black Dragons
Ser Ravinger Bare oh...I didn't know the lamenters bailed on you guys... :(
Pyroskies I thought they got lost or something
Their flagship was reconstructed as their monastery into the side of the Hellblade Mountains of Rynn’s World.
Hence, Lord Hellblade.
These guys are cool, glad you covered them.
They are cooler than cooler than cool
It sucks that there is so little canon information about the Crimson Fists.
Thanks for getting out what information there is on such an interesting successor of the Fists.
King Baldwin IV there isn't a ton but what little there is inspired me to play as them
Darryl Cabral, Pollux alone is a good reason.
Amen brutha!!! The Crimson Fists are depicted in the now legendary images on the front cover of the first rule-set; Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader, the same image is also on the first box set of Space Marjnes that Citadel produced, 30 multipart mk6 astartes (BEAKIES!!!!!) what a bargain they were, 10quid for 30 dudes!! I’ve been painting the fists ever since, I have tried to switch but I just can’t; I can manage grey knights or deathwatch but that’s it
Im pretty certain its scouts have no red hands, companies have 1 and the 1st have both. For evidence of this look no futher than the rulebook. Good video apart from that
They're pissed off at the Ultramarines...because THEY were the SPESS MUHREENS poster-boys of 40k before they were REPLACED by the Ultra-SMURFS!
Gabriel Aubry it seems fiting for the Crimson Fists to be poster boys, in my opinion
They are even more Codex adherent than the Ultramarines...
When I was a kid this was the chapter I chose for the reasons you have stated, plus the midnight blue and red fists were badass, eventually blood angels and black templars made my non-codex modified marines seem inept, so I went orks and won many tournaments with the BOYZZZ and my 100+ army of grots
If I remember correctly Pedro Kantor is also one of the youngest chapter masters in space marine history. Ill have to check my old codex (5th). Will confirm when I can.
Kantor is my fkn brother! I read rynns world twice. I love him and his chapter. They really are the ones you'd like by your side in the fox hole. Alessio on the other hand is his contrast but they fkn love each other to death.
Your so good at these videos, enjoyed that thanks
plot twist: they are actually night lords under cover with red gauntlets symbolizing sanction
Crimson Fists: COME AND HAVE A GO IF YOU THINK YOU'RE HARD ENOUGH!
Alas the trip goes to Ullanor.
I know it is not likely, but if you get to talk to the old man, please tell him to go on retirement. It has been some 250 years since he was supposed to. Especially considering the shenanigans he went through between the two wars. He has quite frankly earned it.
Thanks for sharing!
For me, it seems fiting for the Crimson Fists to be Space Marine poster boys
The Warhammer Podcast they most likely would have stayed the tokken chapter if GW didn't make them into a second founding
Of course, the Crimson Fists were originally a first-founding chapter, with the Imperial Fists being the successors (1st Ed/Rogue Trader), but this was retconned by the time 2nd Ed came out ... presumably because the powers to be at GW didn't want one of their main founding legions/chapters to be in such a dire state ...
YEEEEEE
WIB CAMEO IN MY FAVOURITE CHAPTER VIDEO oh michael you spoil us
If you read RYNNS WORLD by Steve Parker, you can fill in a lot of these information gaps. However, only veterans get both fists painted red, battle brothers only get the left fist and scouts get neither until promoted to battle brother.
Down to 200 marines? FORTIFY THIS POSITION
I can't help but feel from Girlyman's quote that he didn't have much positive things to say about the Black Templars.
vote for Pedro
IF a Crimson Fist joins the deathwatch do They still have the red/Crimson armor gauntlets?
They can if they want to, at least in the deathwatch RPG there are Crimson fist deathwatch marines that keep the red gauntlets
This video is among my favorites you made on the Space Marines chapters. :)
Not as funny as the one made by Arch, but still. :D
I don't aim for humour in these videos - information is king, despite my offhand remarks from time to time. Thank you for the support.
Anytime. :)
Called it.
Shame I painted Bloody Magpies instead of these guys... Close second favourites.
Is there an issue with painting black templar?
Well with you Magpies you can steal minis and say that you are following their lore 😂😂😂
Hey Tactica, could you make an in-depth video about the psykers in 40k warhammer. For most its probably quite clear what they are and what they can do, but I have only a little bit of information. about them.
Lapsa wow, funny you should mention that...
Starting to see a Trend with Imperial Fists and their successors
Upon gaining their black carapace they have a left fist painted red, and as a veteran both fists become red.
In one hate the crimson fists involved did the blood ritual as a form of honor now
HE IIISSS
THE CRIMSON CHIN
i find it impossible not to sing this
Wib!!
Lord Hellblade is a monoker he carries on account of the fact that Arch Tyranus crash-landed into The Hellblade mountains. #urwelcomeTactica
I could be wrong but I think the crimson fist were an original chapter but later we're re writing into the second founding?
Where does all this info come from? It's staggering. Just various books?
Books and the occasional article in White Dwarf/on Warhammer Community. My main resource is Lexicanum, simply because I haven't read all the books myself, but I always cross-reference where I can.
Tactica Imperialis Well, you do the Emperor's work, sir. I enjoy your content immensely.
40k story on the Sons of Malice would be something to do right?
I Personally blame the Alpha Legion from that missile incident...
Let's be honest: The Chapter Master of the Crimson Fists during the War of the Beast got off *lucky* dying to Killa Kans instead of facing the Beast himself and what happened to the other Chapter Masters in that first assault...
Why would the officio assassinorum want to mess with the crimson fists defense during the orc invasion?
Heard Alexis Bollocks lol
#RynnStands #CortezLives #BringBackCortez
DORN LIVES!!
Seriously they had no problem with the primaris wearing there heraldry and colors? Are you sure these are Dorn's Son's?
I was about to say...
Considering polux and dantioch were best pals during the heresy they might be more open than the stick in butt imperial fists
I still call BS that a random tech adept could recreate and improve the space marine gene seed, yes Corvis Corax did it. However Corvise Corax was 1 a primarch, 2 given the knowledge first hand by the Emperor himself, 3 was also given the resources to do so. The Tech adept...had none of the above.
By all rights this should have caused a civil war.
High-Marshal_Jaeger
All this hate of Primaris Marines is just damn annoying. First you people complain about the lack of plot progression, then you complain that there was plot progression.
Well, first, it wasn't just a random tech-adept; it was one of, if not the, highest-ranking and most knowledgeable Magos in the Imperium. Second, he was given 10,000 years to produce these Primaris marines. Third, he was given direct access to all useful information by the single most powerful person in the Imperium other than Big E himself. Fourth, the Primaris aren't even on-par with the Custodes or Raptors. Fifth, when Emps and Corvus did what they did, they had between a few years to a hundred to produce useful and relatively inexpensive soldiers. Cawl had /ten thousand years/.
Well, the Crimson Fists can be viewed as the "liberal" and more calm/clear-headed faction of the original Legion, and the Templars as the "conservative" and more wild faction; in essence, the Templars outright refused Primaris troops, while the IF were a mixed reaction, and the CF accepted them much more readily.
Death Guard
I don't understand why the crimson fists have never been the featured marines in any starter box sets even though the artwork in many of the rule books have crimson fists in them or as art work cover.
Rogue trader =No box set
2nd edition =blood angels vs orks
3rd edition =black templars vs dark elder
4th edition battle for maccrage=ultra marines vs tyranids
5th edition black reach= ultra marines vs orks
6th edition dark vengeance =dark angels vs chaos
7th edition=a few box set releases
1 dark vengeance with 7th edition rule book. Dark angels vs chaos
2 storm claw space wolves vs orks
3 blood storm blood angels vs tyranids.
8th edition.
1st strike, know no fear, dark imperium = ultra marines vs chaos
Out of all the 2nd founding chapters, non have been used for artwork as much as crimson fists. They are 1 of the oldest and best known 2nd founding chapters in the hobby. Yet have never been in a starter box set! Even black templars were featured in 3rd edition! Another imperial fist successor chapter!!!
Yes they're cool but damm are the crimson fists in need of some attention and tlc!!!!
I've heard from so many people that the crimson fist suck
first and yey crimson fists
Do the Flesh Eaters
Do Catachan jungle fighters 🙏🙏💪
They're a Regiment of Renown, so they're coming, don't worry!
Thank you 🙏
EXECUTIONERS PLEASE!!!!
Whilst listening to all these videos why do almost all chapters get wiped out all the time. quite silly lol, by this rate space marines should be obsolete
I like your stuff but please please please get a better microphone. Rode do Good stuff
I actually did purchase a new mic, but it's stuck in England at the moment as it arrived too late to bring to France and is a bit too bulky to get shipped out. So hopefully after Christmas things will improve!
I just like to point out that those eldar that helped the Crimson fists out come from a craft world with ASS in its name, apropate no?
Um, they were from Alaitoc...
