Nikki Sixx (bassist) wrote this song, after he died (overdosed) and was brought back to life, with an adrenaline shot to the heart. Hence, Kick Start, my HEART.
The EMT that injected Nikki Sixx was reportedly a Motley Crue fan. When he saw Nikki dead on the gurney, reportedly he told the other EMT "Dude, he ain't gonna die" before injecting the adrenaline needles.
Just saw them 8/25/2022 along with Def Leppard, Joan Jett and Poison. It was also my first concert ever! That memory and the feeling of seeing band I’ve listened to growing up as a child will with stay with me forever!!
Where you might have heard this before? Hmmm, let's see... The song is featured as a selectable track on the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster at Universal Studios Orlando. The song was featured on the Brütal Legend licensed soundtrack. The song was made available to download on June 7, 2011 for use in the Rock Band 3 music gaming platform in both Basic rhythm, and PRO mode which takes advantage of the use of a real guitar/bass guitar, along with standard MIDI-compatible electronic drum kits/keyboards in addition to up to three-part harmony vocals. On February 5, 2012, "Kickstart My Heart" was featured in a commercial for Kia Motors during halftime at Super Bowl XLVI. This commercial also featured Brazilian model Adriana Lima, Pittsburgh Steeler Brett Keisel and ex-UFC fighter Chuck Liddell. The song was featured in an opening montage to the 2006 Will Ferrell comedy/sports movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The song was used to cover Ricky's first wins and rise to being No.1. The song was featured in the closing scene of the 2007 action movie Shoot 'Em Up. The song was featured on the Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec soundtrack. The song was featured in the 2019 Netflix biopic The Dirt and was also included on the film's soundtrack album. The song was featured in the 2019 film Hellboy. The song was featured in the 2019 film The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. The song was featured in an episode of The Office entitled "Traveling Salesman" where Dwight Schrute air guitars to this song in his car before a sales call. The song was featured in the Supergirl episode titled "The Quest for Peace".
actually you don't talk through the guitar. It's kind of the other way around. The sound from the guitar comes up through the tube and into your mouth so it's like your talking but using the guitar instead of your vocal chords.
Everytime I make the mistake of listening to this song while driving, I wind up doing 95 and bouncing in my seat. Great reaction, bro! DEF a good song when you wanna burn some energy HARD.
Totally missed that the driver was Comedic great Sam Kinison. IIRC that "auto tune" deal is actually a machine that pushes the sound of the guitar back into the mouth of the player allowing them to form words with the notes. Peter Frampton made it famous in "Do you feel like we do" czcams.com/video/y7rFYbMhcG8/video.html
Hey man, that seizure warning you threw out there is awesome. Thank you. As a person who has them daily, I am always grateful of the warning. I really wish the networks or closed captioning services could put seizure warnings on shows. I have seen that done once, on a celebrity performance on American Idol. The artist had a pretty intense light show to accompany his music and before it started, a seizure warning scrolled across the bottom of the screen. I thought was the coolest thing ever. Thank you!
Super Bowl commercial a few years ago when Sandman trips over house shoe and dumps a lot of dust on the guy sleeping and dude is going fast on a race track and this song playing
It's called a Talk Box. There is a latex hose beside the microphone that goes in the players mouth and when he speaks or makes a sound it goes through the guitar as its played. Check out Peter Frampton from the 1970's. He used it a lot on songs like Do You Feel Like I do.
That's actually backwards...the sound from the guitar itself passes through a talkbox amp and midi horn driver through the tube and into the singers mouth. They change the shape of their mouth to manipulate the sound into the Mike. Early experiments by some led to overdriving the sound and modulation and breaking teeth.
That voice thing on guitar is called talkbox ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_box ). This song always gets me going. Song is about Nikki Sixx overdose when he was treated with two adrenaline shots to heart and saved from being close to dead
My ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND!! Crue head since 85!! Funny story involving this tune. A dude in California last year used this song coming on the radio as an excuse for him speeding. Cop still gave him the ticket lol
I was 8 years old the first time I heard this song. Gran Turismo 3, this is where I first got into rock and roll. Man that game gave me some good memories. Still gets the blood pumpin
The “robot voice” device is called a talk box. Richie Sambora used one in Livin on a Prayer with Bon Jovi. I know this song was used at the beginning of an episode of S.W.A.T.
Billy - The effect you are asking about is a "talk box". They were big in the 1970's Joe Walsh used one in Rocky Mountain Way back in his James Band days. Steve Tyler used one in Sweet Emotion, lastly Peter Frampton used one in Frampton Comes Alive on the song Do You Feel Like We Do.
That sound you were wondering about is a Talk Box...it's run through their guitar....and through a tube the guitarist has in his mouth.....they didn't use auto tune back in the day...they didn't need it....they were all talented musicians playing their own instruments....
This song was in both Talladega Nights and Shoot 'Em Up. Probably been in a bunch of other stuff. Seems like it was in some commercial during the Superb Owl. Their driver at the beginning of the video was Sam Kinison, you should react to some of his stand up. He was wild and actually was a preacher before becoming a stand up comic.
Yo Billy, the effect used is called a Talk Box and it was used on several songs: Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like I Do Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion Pink Floyd - Pigs (Three Different Ones) Jeff Beck - She's A Woman Joe Walsh - Rocky Mountain Way Eagles - Those Shoes Steely Dan - Haitian Divorce
Nikki Sixx (the bass player) wrote this song after he was brought back from a heroin overdose after they "kickstarted" his heart by putting two shots of adrenaline into his heart and reviving him.
Nikki Sixx bass player wrote most of Motley Crue songs, this song came from him overdosing and died on heroine, he was saved by two shots of adrenaline, hence the song Kick Start My Heart, than left the hospital and went home and shot up with the biggest dose of heroine in his life and somehow lived. He wrote in a daily diary, years later he found those diaries in a storage unit and wrote a book 📖 called The Heroine Diaries about his heroine addiction he had for a year and he hope it would help others by putting his story out there he been clean for years! Do more Motley Crue songs, how about Live Wire!
If you remember the part in the movie The dirt where Nikki over dosed on heroin. They gave him two shots of adrenaline straight to the heart. Hence Kickstart my.. Nicki writes most of the song material by the way
Yeah, this song has been in so many different things, it would have been hard not to hear it up to this point. BTW, the guy driving the limo in the beginning was Sam Kinison, another comedian you should definitely check out.
It has been said, by Ozzy himself if I remember correctly, that after a tour where Motley Crue opened for Ozzy, they all had to go through rehab. These guys lived the true rock star lives!
I know you watched The Dirt but Billy you need to do more Motley Crue, please, please, please do Wide Side, Live Wire, Primal Scream, Shout At The Devil and Home Sweet Home!
You should check out Nikki Sixx band Sixx A.M., the song is called Maybe its time, it has a variety of artists, and the song benefits drug recovery for people. It's a great cause.
Nikki Sixx (bassist) wrote this song, after he died (overdosed) and was brought back to life, with an adrenaline shot to the heart. Hence, Kick Start, my HEART.
died twice and came back
@@footloosewill5569 Yes, but it was the final one, that inspired this song.
Kind of similar to the needle scene in Pulp fiction but with 2 needles.
Double shot of adrenaline
The EMT that injected Nikki Sixx was reportedly a Motley Crue fan. When he saw Nikki dead on the gurney, reportedly he told the other EMT "Dude, he ain't gonna die" before injecting the adrenaline needles.
Any time this song comes on the radio, I can feel my foot slowly pushing the pedal harder. U can't avoid speeding when this song is on!
I've seriously gotten 3 speeding tickets listening to this song lol
Csmal 1992 truth!
Billy: "...an adrenaline rushing song for sure"
Nikki Sixx: "Mission accomplished."
Motley crue, Dont go away mad, just go away. Great song.
Epic jam!!!
Over the years I have seen Motley Crue over 40 times. Energized concerts!! Rock on 🤘
Just saw them 8/25/2022 along with Def Leppard, Joan Jett and Poison. It was also my first concert ever! That memory and the feeling of seeing band I’ve listened to growing up as a child will with stay with me forever!!

And in the new SpongeBob SquarePants movie commercial lmao
I was SO HOPING someone would bring up the Office!!!!!❤
'Dr Feelgood' is one of the best-produced rock albums of all time. It was this album that made Metallica choose Bob Rock to do 'The Black Album'.
If the car is being driven by Sam Kininson, you know it's going to be a wild party. Dive in deep... or run the other way.
He was so freaking funny.
R.i.p.
Probably one of the most popular song from them so a bunch of movies and even guitar hero 2 I believe
It's a Talk box, makes to talk thru your guitar, try reacting to Peter Frampton's "Do You Feel, Like We Do", he uses it in a lot of his songs
actually you don't talk through the guitar. It's kind of the other way around. The sound from the guitar comes up through the tube and into your mouth so it's like your talking but using the guitar instead of your vocal chords.
i’ve been waiting for this one🤩🤩

Grand turisimo. it was one of the songs.
i am so glad you listed to this. I have been waiting for some one to listen to this song.
The bassist wrote this song bout him overdosing & the EMT's shocked him back to life with both the defib paddles & shot of adrenaline
Great song from a great band. I'm shocked they all lived through the 80's. And he was using a guitar talk box in that one portion of the song.
Mick Mars is amazing! With the affliction he has...and still can shred on the guitar...he's a guitar god!!!
Billy you are too pure for the Crue haha.
Hey man, that seizure warning you threw out there is awesome. Thank you. As a person who has them daily, I am always grateful of the warning. This song has been used in 3 different commercials (that I can think of). Excellent song, and Tommy’s drums at the end.......WOOOOOOOO!!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
It was EVERYWHERE!
Can't live without your love and affection by Nelson
It was in Hot Tub Time Machine. Is that where you may have heard it?

Super Bowl commercial a few years ago when Sandman trips over house shoe and dumps a lot of dust on the guy sleeping and dude is going fast on a race track and this song playing

The “auto tune” you commented about was actually just the guitar, it’s a pretty cool trick my dad knows how to do it too.

Cool - one of my faves from the hair/glam-metal days. Still surprises me they survived the 80s.
The mouthpiece is called a talk box.
Other notable users of this device include Peter Frampton and Richie Sambora
Another great crue song. You should try some older crue next. Man.
I suggest shout at the devil
Cheers
chris budberg 😂😂

That sound you were wondering about is a Talk Box...it's run through their guitar....and through a tube the guitarist has in his mouth.....they didn't use auto tune back in the day...they didn't need it....they were all talented musicians playing their own instruments....

That “robot machine” is called a talk box.
Dodge used in a commercial, shot at a race track. Popular during football season.
Billy, you've heard this song at a million sporting events.
Yo Billy, the effect used is called a Talk Box and it was used on several songs:
Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like I Do
Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion

Yeah, this song has been in so many different things, it would have been hard not to hear it up to this point. BTW, the guy driving the limo in the beginning was Sam Kinison, another comedian you should definitely check out.
