I have seen some people being confused about the Moroni statue in the temples.
It is not a worshipping statue. We do not worship statues or persons.
We only worship God.
Why is Moroni statue there? As the official statement says; It isymbolizing both the spreading of the gospel throughout the world and the long-anticipated Second Coming of the Savior, which will be announced by trumpet-blowing angels (see Matthew 24:31)
The Moroni statue it's not in every temple. I personally like it.
Something that we have in every temple is this phrase:
"Holiness to the Lord. The House of the Lord"
I hope even you cannot understand or accept our beliefs, that you will respect us, we all are God's children and want to be close to him in the best way we can, with the faith we have.

Holiness to the Lord yet, an angel, a strange angel is exalted to the pinnacle of this house. Even in bible the only two angels i know gabriel and micheal commanded the closest disciple to Jesus Christ, john the beloved not to worship him in revelations. Yet this moroni just came out of nowhere and somehow fooled humanity into exalting him to the highest point of a temple made with human hands, but Jesus who is God the Father in Power, Jesus, who is the sacrficial obedience of the Son, Jesus who is the transforming spirit of the Comforter lives in temples made by His Hands. God lives in us. We are the Holiness of Jesus, how shameful if i put an angel on top of my head. Open your eyes, cant you see satan has transformed himself into an angel of enlightenment. Hear o Isreal our God is One God.

They did not want people to think they worship idols instead of Jesus Christ, no cross on LDS churches or buildings.
The teachings within are available for all who are interested in knowing who they worship.
We do not worship the Angel Moroni, he is a symbol for the preaching of the gospel around the world in the latter-days.

I think it's wonderful to restore buildings to the original state. With the new emphasis the LDS church is telling the world they believe in Jesus Christ proving they are Christians. A statue of gold does not support the new focus. But honestly I think it's really cool to bring back the original state of the building. The statue is not on every single temple so it's not really a golden image of worship... But my question is, being taught very young in the LDS church, 1970 we were taught that the angel Moroni will blow that trumpet on top of the Temple when Christ comes. Wonder if they are still believing, teaching this narrative.

I personally have not heard that. I am currently 15 and from what I have heard is that when the 2nd coming occurs there will be angels with a great trumpet (Matthew 24:31).
Hearing that you were very young in the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Ladder Day Saints when you heard this, I think there could have been somebody trying to explain to kids about the 2nd coming in Sunday School, and they probably mentioned the Moroni on the temples to symbolize that.
God's temple is a very sacred place, and he wants all those to desire to worship there and enjoy being in God's presence whilst doing temple ordinances there. I think that's why there's a statue of Gold. Please also keep in mind, that this statue is made of fiberglass and leafed in gold. It is not pure gold.

Because having, myself, been deceived by Mormonism for 37-years and then rescued from it by God’s gift of grace by faith in a living Christ, who sufficiently saved me by His accomplished work, I understand more than you know and all that I need to know about the “Mormon” faith and all its sects. High mentions that Heimdallr is the owner of the "trumpet" (see footnote) Gjallarhorn and that "its blast can be heard in all worlds". In chapter 51, High foretells the events of Ragnarök. After the enemies of the gods will gather at the plain Vígríðr, Heimdallr will stand and mightily blow into Gjallarhorn. This from the Nordic traditions dating back to Viking times...

Actually, the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Ladder Day Saints worships God and Jesus Christ, not this statue.
I appreciate your concern, and the statue is just to symbolize the second coming that is approaching, and God's mighty angels trumpeting. Love you bro!
