Dougs wife: honey did you break into the neighbours house? Doug: I read a story to people I never met before about VPN Dougs wife: why am I not surprised
I don't get why he's so confused by Pennywise killing random people... isn't that kind of his schtick? Sure, he has a vendetta against the Losers for defeating him as kids, but it's not like he doesn't still kill people for food and giggles.
Well, maybe it isn't so much that Pennywise still does this, and more that the movie shows so much of it rather than some more story related stuff. But even then, you could find that decision fitting or not.
That whole beginning scene was in the book though so I think they were attempting to stick the source material, imperfectly I am sure. Other random people died off too I believe. It was to establish that It had been around for a very long time and no one but children were really aware of him. But I get how in movie context it doesn't make much sense. There is a lot more world building in the book, it makes it far more clear who It is and what It does.
What I found unbelievable was that they each went out to find their “tokens” and just somehow knew exactly what it was they needed to find. Some made sense like Georgie’s boat for Bill, Eddie’s inhaler and Bev’s letter and maaaaybe Richie’s token. But Stanley’s was just an out of nowhere thing that the others just assumed would be his token. How about a book about birds since he loved them? Something representing his Jewish upbringing and faith since that was a big part of his character. But shower caps? That works I guess 😂
I actually see a lot of young Ben's expressions in his adult actor. Honestly, I don't think he's that far off, kind of an ugly duckling case. Also, I don't think the kids need to have a connection with the losers club. Children being eaten alive is horrifying enough as it is.
ilovsapinta and the one kid in the fun house is actually a great connection, he’s seen a few times before, you start to care about him, and he’s axed through a mirror
Ok, how could you not reference the scene where Pennywise flies over to Richie and asks him if he wants to play Street Fighter? Pennywise playing Street Fighter Critic! That joke was practically gift-wrapped to you!!!
Because if his *The Wall* review is anything to take note of, Doug believes he has the high ground and that you underestimate *his* power. Don’t try it.
"We were 12 when we made that oath, how many promises have you kept from that age?" "I promised I'd kill Steve Urkel." "And?" "Seen him around lately?" Yeah, he hung out with Scooby-Doo and the gang a few weeks ago.
Mind you, I must say, while I'm largely uninterested in that new Scooby show (especially after the awesomeness of Mystery Incorporated), it DID have a couple good episodes with Wonder Woman and Sia 😂 But I have no interest in seeing the Batman crossover. There's been enough of that
Granted Pennywise going after other kids is kinda what he has done for hundreds of years, though getting revenge on the losers hes still got other side items to munch on.
I actually think it’s kinda funny how Henry isn’t in this review at all because he had like no role in the new movie Still loved the review and the movie tho
"Who they reveal, might have been a couple" No, it was revealed Richie was in love with Eddie. They weren't a couple, in fact they explicitly go out of their way to reveal how Richie never told Eddie and that he could only express his feelings through teasing and arguing.
It’s revealed that Richie cared a great deal about Eddie, but it doesn’t try very hard to convince you that Richie’s feelings were of the homosexual variety, that’s just how the general audience has chosen to interpret it. Personally, I wasn’t sure whether that’s where that was going or not. Maybe it was just THAT subtle to me, but I’d say it’s open to interpretation.
I love how pointless something’s in the movie where that Critic didn’t even point out for a second like Hengry Bowers (the murderer bully) and the just call me angel scene when the leper threw up on Eddie
I actually though that scene was pretty funny. It was so out of left field and unexpected, I couldn't help but laugh. Not to mention the music completely broke the tension.
a scene that actually scared me was when Richie was about to attack him and do something then he instantly gets hit by the dead lights and his eyes roll back in his head it was so fast t scared me
2:34 The comedic timing of that "what" was _perfect._ And so was the horn honking thing two seconds later. They were right, Tim Curry's Pennywise IS a pretty good clown! xD
@@shadowstrider8295 I'm terrified of spiders too, and Shelob didn't scare me, even as a kid. Now Aragog and his hundreds of children? That's a different story.
And just to add more salt oh the wound, King cameos as a guy telling Bill he didn't like the ending to one of his books. If their was a middle finger emoji, I'd use it.

Suicide Squad's "Joker" just looks like my friend's drug dealer who also works at Wendy's.
I don't get why he's so confused by Pennywise killing random people... isn't that kind of his schtick? Sure, he has a vendetta against the Losers for defeating him as kids, but it's not like he doesn't still kill people for food and giggles.
True
Well, maybe it isn't so much that Pennywise still does this, and more that the movie shows so much of it rather than some more story related stuff.
But even then, you could find that decision fitting or not.
That whole beginning scene was in the book though so I think they were attempting to stick the source material, imperfectly I am sure. Other random people died off too I believe. It was to establish that It had been around for a very long time and no one but children were really aware of him. But I get how in movie context it doesn't make much sense. There is a lot more world building in the book, it makes it far more clear who It is and what It does.
“ I think you had enough ancient pot already"
Hey it's what the audience told the director after watching the film.
You can never have enough ancient pot when it comes to Mr. King. Lol
9:03 James McAvoy: You know, I was in that movie, too. Jessica Chastain: You were? James McAvoy: I don't remember.
Have to say, those impressions of Tim Curry and Bill Skarsgård are pretty neat.
If anyone could be picked as the adult who looked the least like the child actor, it was who played Billie.
Right? I totally saw young Ben in adult Ben. The actors do actually look alike. This whole casting is pretty spot on.
ilovsapinta exactly!
I thought that casting was pretty perfect tbh

The opening scene turned into a joke but it actually was the most painful scene of the movie, really disturbing

Same with the bleacher scene
@@Goremaid I hope theres a deleted scene where the homophobes are arrested and questioned by the cops, like in the novel.

"Who they reveal, might have been a couple"
No, it was revealed Richie was in love with Eddie. They weren't a couple, in fact they explicitly go out of their way to reveal how Richie never told Eddie and that he could only express his feelings through teasing and arguing.
wasn’t a thing in the book.
