Fun-fact: a "spline" is a mathematical interpolation curve which was inspired by the properties of traditional wooden boat splines, where the endpoints are fixed but not their derivative, allowing the wood to naturally form a nice curve which has minimal curvature, i.e. is minimizing material tension.
Building a wooden boat model with splines with two endpoints and one middle point is pretty much how people build boats since mankind started to make them out of wooden planks.

great vid, spent my summers for the last 9 years on a wooden boat, this year stuck in quarantine im going to have to settle for 3D printed boats in the bath tub.

You could try it and see if it works.
when i got thicken error is coming / the operation could not create a valid result.Try adhusting the values or changing the input geometry.One idea?

RC airplanes are definitely on my list (I'm a certified commercial pilot after all ;)). Do you have any RC airplane model on your mind?
My dream job. But my eyes prevent me to fly for real.
Anyway. I would say any single engine prop plane from 40´s. As same principle can be applied for any type.

I'm working on buying a new machine, my current one is getting very slow and this is something I'm also going to talk about on my next videos.
With that said, I'm working on a new project, which relates to the HW requirement for different application (F360 as well). I'm really excited about it and I'm sure it will help A LOT of people out there who are planning on buying a new computer.

Great tutorial. Learning alot from this. I have a challenge. What if you have some drawings to start from and your profile sketches are not planar?. I have a drawing I could send you to show you what I mean. Basically the first curve you make is not planar, but also has a curve looking from front-plane. I have searched and can not find any tutorials on this. Basically the problem is how to sketch the same curves in 3D not only 2D.

Great video, you do good work friend. FYI: Tried to use the F3D files and fusion crashed every time. Not sure if it was the files or my computer, but other files work fine.

Yes. Tried both, 3 times each, and they both crashed fusion 360 every time. Maybe its just my computer, was waiting to see if anyone else had this issue as well.
Interesting, I have download the files like you did and opened them with no problem. I hope other people will give us their feedback.
How are you moving the camera around the object? I can't seem to figure it out :P

Sorry for stupid question, but I'm stuck near the beginning where you mirror the first spline. I am following step-by-step, but when I select mirror I am not able to select anything to mirror. I have the options of faces, features, bodies, or components, but none of them work. Any ideas?

On the top toolbar, please go to SELECT => Section Filters and make sure that "Select All" is checked!

That's odd! You are using the Project tool and it doesn't projecting the two points, that's what happening to you?
Yes Sir, thats exactly what I am doing, and strangely Project (P) doesnt even choose two points.
Try with Project Intersect and let me know if it doesn't work. You are the only one who have a problem with that, very strange!

I had the same problem until I noticed that your mouse flashed over "Create Sketch" first. I did the same and it worked.
I planed my own boat but the thickness tool wont work. what could fix this?

I followed this until you shelled the solid model. When I try it I get an error "The operation could not create a valid result.

This kind of error, Usually comes up because of the shape of the model and the Thickness you are trying to create.
I don't know if your Hull shape is exactly as mine or not, but try to reduce the thickness and see if it makes any difference.
I tried 1mm, no difference.
