I purchased this a couple of months ago and put it through its paces. It's a good machine - however it has the potential to be a great machine if DR would only upgrade some internal parts.

Nice job. Very helpful product review based on practical experience. I agree, plastic pulley's in this type of machine knowing what it is expected to do is a shame. Thanks a lot!

That property line came out really good. We ended up buying a used Billy Goat Brushcutter from Home Depot.

The DR pro models are definitely built way tougher than that but I agree with you that even the base model should use a metal tensioner pulley

Wow, you Live in a beautiful place, you gave a nice demonstration of the dr mower but I couldn’t take my eyes off the background scenery. Thanks for sharing both and congrats on owning that lovely peace of Gods green earth. Peace and good health be with you in these difficult times. If I may offer a small bit of advice. Be careful with these mowers and other people or pets being near by, I’ve had mine throw some debris out that would definitely injure. God bless.

My Dr. Fields brush cutter is 25 years old but only gets used a couple times a year. I just broke a belt on it which is the first repair I have had to do on the machine. The battery died years ago but I just jump it and it runs until I shut it off (original battery). This is by far one heck of a machine.

You did a great job on cleaning up the fence line I'm looking at a used Dr feild and brush mower with a Kawasaki 17 hp engine I believe that the mower deck is the biggest one they make .just the price is right I need it

You can buy aftermarket metal pulleys to replace them for nothing

I had a Craftsman trimmer mower they had plastic I do have to agree with one of the guys their base model should have the metal pulleys with bearings

I have a couple of the older ones with the 26" spoked solid tires. One has electric start. They are very tough and no flats. But a cheap tractor with brush hog is better and cheaper than if you buy one of these new, I just have a hundred dollars in both of mine. They have their places in small tight spaces.
