Keep Your Horse Guessing

I’ve been working with my young mare as I can to keep her mind working and guessing as to what is coming next. I’ve been working her time line gradually and will continue to do so. It is very important that horses also know how to stand still whether in or out of the saddle. Thanks for watching.

Horse Manure Spreading, Organic Fertilizer for Pasture with Drag Harrow

A very easy and effective way to spread horse manure with a drag harrow. I purchased this one from Tractor Supply but you can also use a chain link fence section with added weight, or some other homemade method. Using organic natural fertilizer is the best way to get a head start on fresh pasture grass for any livestock. Thanks for watching like and subscribe for more videos. Drag Harrow: amzn....
Winter Farm Chores | Feeding Horses In Deep Heavy Snow | 4K
zhlédnutí 833Před 2 lety
Horses keep warm while digesting food. The current conditions at the time of feeding the horses was 14 degrees F ( Felt like 2 degrees) They were all to eager to meet me at the farm gate. I purposely didn't talk as I wanted you to enjoy the sounds of the crunching snow, and munching horses and they ate the hay. I left them the hay net for over night snacking. Thanks for watching Rural Vibes.
Wood Processing on the Farm | Cutting, Splitting & Stacking
zhlédnutí 115Před 2 lety
It's that time of year here on the farm. It's time to start splitting wood for next season and beyond. We used a 27 ton Champion Log Splitter and it makes pretty short work of any bucked logs we throw at it - even the gnarly ones. This is also an unofficial review of the Champion 27 ton hydraulic log splitter. My kids helped me with this project. This is very important to me as it teaches them ...

Green Giant Thuja Privacy Hedge Planting UPDATE (Part 2)
I think you just helped me decide which trees I want to plant in my horse pasture! Good and enjoyable video, thanks! I’d love to see an update of how the trees are doing since you planted.
any new updates?
And the new bushing on the oil bolt
Where are you located and what the total cost of the build?
I see the cost was 23k in April of 2021
How much is it?
Update soon?
Tried to email you (through You Tube email address) to get the name of your builder of this barn. I am in Virginia, too, and need to bring a horse home within the next 60 days, so need to get a run in shed or small barn build, and fence put up. Would really appreciate if you could share the name of the company or person that built your barn/run in for you. The email didn't go through, as it said the email address was under construction or full. Thank you!
I updated my email. Try again,
ExMark make so many different models and each one is totally different.

Hello, Are you interested in testing our products? We would like to invite you to test the Seat Covers for your Can Am Defender Max
I'm about half way thru a trail loop on my densely forested property . The ticks are alive and well here in the Tidewater VA area just about all seasons. Making the first pass extra wide to get the debris cleaned so things will dry out , keep the ticks down. Don't have a tractor or riding mower, so my main tools are a good backpack blower, & chain saw for fallen trees .Have lots of game tracks already ! . I haven't heard of many folks doing this, definitely worth it . Thanks for the great video!
It really makes it worth the hard work with it when you can enjoy your property year around.
Any thuja updates?
Had mine for years now. I put it through thick and thin, batoning with it through even logs with hard knots. Preformed very well. It is a little heavy though.
Thank you this will help
I break trails with my horses and they’ll make a nice path plus they learn how to pick their feet up good when you’re off in the woods Makes the horse think a little more
That’s a good idea also.
What state do you live in
Nice ! I like the blue and the flexibility you created for future
What do you do about flies on your horses in the summer?
I use this: amzn.to/3HdqmJL I have found this to be the best thing I've found thus far for my actual horses. Then I use the traditional fly strips around the barn amzn.to/4aLblN6 Hope this helps.
That is very helpful! Thank you
It’s been a few years now..how did this go? I’m tempted to try for this spring.. We have a horse farm as well but from the few videos I’ve seen you do a better job at keeping nice mowed wood fence lines. Ha
Not to good. My entire bee system swarmed. Not sure why. They still had plenty of room to expand and when I checked on them I thought they were doing rather well. Would love to give it another go sometime.
Definitely the best way. My only issue doing this with mine that’s a good bit longer and wider is it gets kinked..even when using the tractor to flip it (it’s really heavy). I’d like to make one just for pasture dragging to not have to flip it.
I think it’s absolutely perfect for two horses !! I also love the scenery in the pasture. I’m pretty jealous!! It’s exactly what I’d like to have. Thanks for showing me ! Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
Loved hearing the snow crunch. Your girl is a beautiful horse!
Looks good! We are moving from Arizona to Tennessee! So many changes to make for our 16 head. We will have a few stalls especially for our stallions. another wise it will be pasture!
Hey bud around how much did it end up costing you for that setup if u don't mind me asking?
What were the budget numbers (round numbers are ok) for this vs a pre built wooden option?
Wow!!! Thats so beautiful...I love the colours and the front porch area such a good idea there!! Pearl is so lovely.
I don’t know why, but this video made me tear up! It’s so clear how thoughtful you are when it comes to meeting Pearl’s needs. Thank you for the tour!
Thank you! I have a stand-on eXmark and wasn't quite sure about the drain plug or the wrench size. Very helpful, thank you.
Hey mate, love the stables. My partner is in love with your set up so guess what my next job is haha. Just wondering what materials you used & roughly the full cost?
Yeah I bought a Helle recently and it was actually scary sharp.
Wrong....... tho engine takes 2.1 quarts. The kit has 2.5 quarts. So there's that.
not true just changed mine today and it took the whole 2.5 quarts
Says 2 in the manual. @@user-bq7ip6rd4z
@@user-bq7ip6rd4z It will take it, but 2.5 is too much (generally).
Did you share anywhere who the builder was? Id like to contact them to replicate this on a mini farm we just purchased. Apologies if you did but I didn't see it anywhere in the comments of the Barn Tour video! Awesome work!
You could put four in the middle if you made two stall under the overhang putting the horses all together and feed and tack on the ends.
Delivered a nice even cut, has the super tight turning ability czcams.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend I was looking for, and is just a blast to drive. It takes a little bit to get used to driving one after driving a normal tractor style, but once you've got it, you've got it. If you're cutting lines, you have to be careful spinning the mower around or the back tire will dig a bare spot. Just take it nice and slow during the turn and then it's back to full throttle across the yard!
You got some beautiful views there .❤️ 🐎🐎
Oh gosh you just saved me the biggest headache of trying to figure out how I wanted mine built. Using your footprint! Beautiful!
Update!
I think cutting corners such as skipping on lighting is going to cost you in the long run.
My Dr. Fields brush cutter is 25 years old but only gets used a couple times a year. I just broke a belt on it which is the first repair I have had to do on the machine. The battery died years ago but I just jump it and it runs until I shut it off (original battery). This is by far one heck of a machine.
My ExMark Laser Z series does NOT have a drain hose. Where is the drain plug?
Looks amazing! Good job. Question…… what did you do for the stall floor? Was it originally grass? Did you put something just over the grass? Thank you
Could design and construct that by yourself it's not deficult.... By the way I do this period something like that by my self.... You see that thing does not exists in Hellas (Greece).... Be well every time!!!!
Can we get another thuja green giant update thanks please.
Heck yeah! Beautiful job
Not sure where you are located, but would you mind sharing your builder's name/info?
Thanks! That reminds me, I need to go out and change the oil on my Exmark. It’s 23 years old and still going strong. And I definitely have to get a can of that Gunk cleaner. Keep up the fine work. You have a good helper!
Same, my dad gave me his 23 year old exmark, and it’s still running like a champ🤞🏼
I hope you give an update on them this year.
A 12 x 12 area for hay can fit about 100 bales when it's actually loaded from floor to ceiling. Don't ask how I know. Personally, I would get some 12 ft long horse panels so you can close the area off up front, make the one into a stall by just using a horse panel or two. I'd consider two things off the back. One is hay storage. The other is tractor/vehicle storage. If you use a 4 wheeler to move hay around from a bigger shed or move bales from the back into the front smaller area once per month it would work. Same with a tractor which has too many uses to count on an equine property. For a feed room I use Gamma2 Vittles Vaults and have worked at professional barns who do as well. They hold about 60lbs each and have a food grade BPA container with a fully sealing lid where you can write the name of the food or horse with a dry erase marker and then wipe off if you change feed, amount, etc. I also like Tuff Stuff Feed and Seed storage containers if you will be doing over 50lbs of grain at a time and want to store 100lbs+ in a container. I have used them for 10+ yrs and had no problems with mice getting in for bulk chicken feed.
