I seem to recall something similar, 31132 vo OC was on 1E10, the 07.00 Bristol to Leeds, I did it from Chesterfield when someone who was flailing in Bradway tunnel between Chesterfield and Sheffield clipped his hand on a class 47 hauled train heading South. I didn't see the chap at Sheffield as I had a tight connection there, but apparently the class 47 driver reported hitting something in the tunnel, this would be 81 or 82.
This happened to me once behind a duff, i hit the electricfication sign in the six foot, no broken bones but knocked me out. This however looks brutal. Coincidentally i hate duffs but was flailing at some mates on a bridge on the European. This also happened near Sandy on The last chance tour where some lads went off in an ambulance at Arlesey after hitting a signal post on the UF at Sandy, a driver off duty shattered his arm. I chuckle at the going away shot seeing no heads hanging out but feel their pain. Some great bellowing shots you have here, great days indeed.
I was on that train and I witnessed it. Absolutely horrific. Must admit D200 put on a fine performance to get to the next station to meet the ambulance. 😳
That’s right. She didn’t hang around that’s for sure. My Mum allowed my to get the S&C day pass behind my dads back and they rushed from Preston to Skipton hospital thinking I was one of the unlucky ones but the radio announced their names half way there so that was a relief for them 😮. My dad wasn’t impressed with my Mum mind 😳
@@aureol40012 yes, long before the days of mobile phones I obviously couldn’t tell my mum I was ok but they heard on the radio, whilst they were driving to skipton, that I wasn’t one of the injured.
@@aureol40012 Not a great day! Admittedly the extent of my injury was only a sprained thumb. You should've stayed at home!!! X We were very lucky/unlucky boys that day! Renno could've been beheaded given his length...
When flailing becomes failing...
