#19 If I had a car full of passengers, I still would have stopped at least to see if everyone was alright, but I'd stay there to see if the police needed my dashcam. All of my passengers would have understood and would have helped out.

Dear Simon, first u were distracted. Then, since u have not been educated as to drifting off the side of a paved road into unpaved surfaces, here goes. DO Not use the steering wheel, DO Not use the brakes. You used both which, of course, the grip of the tire on the pavement being higher, pulled the vehicle as shown. Simply steer straight gradually slowing down using less and less throttle. Once slow and clear of traffic, get back on the paved surfaces. UR lucky there was no one to have a head on crash. Do Pay 100% attention when driving.
The other thing to consider is front end geometry. A front wheel drive based vehicle like an Explorer, has very different front end geometry from a rear wheel drive based vehicle like an Explorer from the 90s or early 2000s. They react differently, so steering input has to be adjusted, but the stay off the brakes and throttle advise stands. Of course, speed and the size of the drop off make a difference too
@@Rhaman68 Exactly, with your right tires on the grass, and left side on the pavement there's such a big difference in grip that applying the brakes essentially acts as if you were only applying brakes on the left side of the car and with much less grip on the right side ,you're just going to go sideways. The moment you dip a wheel onto the grass on the outside of a turn you lose most of the grip you have because the lateral forces are transferred primarily to the tires on the outside of the turn.

Australia has a “duty of care” so even if you don’t have right of way you still have to avoid an accident. The other rule is that “right of way is given not taken”, in other words if another driver failed to give right of way and you run into them you cannot claim you had right of way.

I have a feeling there's a reason that clip was cut so short. Not excusing the bimmer but the cammer probably did not want to zipper merge because that would hurt his little feelings. I've seen it too often on these dashcam clips.
I was thinking the same thing! No wonder the BMW thought he could just move on over, he gave away his next move like a wimp after all. Seriously though, cam car could have very easily avoided that. It’s really not worth teaching the BMW a so called lesson and wrecking your own car in the process

I'm really shocked about the cheap excuses why people do not stop/help. In Germany, its a felonly if you do not help others, may it be car crash or whatever.
In Canada we have what are called "Good Samaritan Acts" which protect those rendering aid from any civil or criminal proceedings because they provided aid and assistance in good faith. Unfortunately in the litigious USA, rendering aid can result in both civil and criminal lawsuits in many places.
and getting a felony for not stopping to help sounds pretty extreme and dumb. If 10 other people have already stopped to help then you don't need to stop to help...

Great channel, thanks. I do however find it immensely frustrating how many cammers are really quick to submit their footage to you, after driving away from the scene without stopping. As you state so often, dashcam footage can save the day for a victim of a bad driver. Just because your pizza will get cold, or you've got passengers, it's no excuse. Stop, check everyone is okay, leave your contact details and be on your way. 5 minutes is all it will take, and it could save someone thousands and possibly even save their licence!
I’m against the fact that you must stop to help because if someone has some important business somewhere that they can’t miss, then they would have to waste their time helping.

I was in a rollover crash just a little bit over 11 years ago on March 7th,2012. In that accident that I broke my left ankle from the impact from the other car. I even had about 3 bruises and a tiny bump on top of my right breast.

They think because they are in front the second before their lane ends that they have the right of way. Don't understand why people want to risk a crash to be in front of one car. But see it almost every single day.

A month or so ago, at band camp for highschool were all in the parking lot about to practice marching, and a car hots the curb, hits a tree, and then flipped over. The next day a kid found a piece of it and now i have that piece.

#11 you can say that was random, but the way Edward was trying to get hit, I bet something happened prior that he just doesn't want to say.. you see Edward deliberately veer to the right to "get hit" and then doesn't try to avoid this entire situation. The white truck of course is wrong for what they did, but I'm willing to bet this was not "random" ...
I don't see Edward veering at all. What I do see is the white truck has existing damage, so I wonder if they made contact before. But, it could also just be another road rage incident.
Some road ragers in trucks just hate EVs, and the Niro is a reasonably prominent one.

Based on the timing from it happening and the truck appearing it seems like the truck wasn't even beside him when he did it, though without seeing it no way to know.

Extreme inertia from hitting the tree after stopping. The force was strong enough to knock down the tree.

It obviously hit the tree BEFORE stopping. Stopped vehicles don't hit trees.
When you hit a big tree at full force, the vehicle instantly stops instantly, that force pushes you.

#17 is like my brother in law, just slightly off the road, overcorrected, went across a ditch and into a field rolling 3 times and was ejected for the vehicle. Fractured vertebrae, but thankfully, 3 years later, he is doing fine. Keep your eyes on the road. It just takes a second, and it could cost a life.

Is it legal to cross the centerline to pass the carriage? 😂
It depends. In the case of the last clip, no, because it was a solid line. But, if it was a dashed line on their side, or was just a dashed line, then it would be legal. However, as the passing vehicle, you're still responsible for making sure the oncoming side is clear for long enough that you can make it past and back over before they approach.

In our jurisdiction where the are two or one solid yellow lines but the vehicle is very slow moving and you have clear line of vision of approaching traffic of 100 metres during the entire overtaking maneouvre....you can overtake.
Otherwise you would be sitting behind an easily overtaken vehicle at horse trot speed for possibly a mile or more with a tailback steadily building up for no good reason.....

@Mad-Lad-Chad yep, first generation went from 2006-2012. And 2006-2009 was the prefacelift ones which look like mine and yours. Then 2010 the first gen got a facelift and that went on until 2012.
Personally, I prefer the looks of the prefacelift ones over the facelift ones. But both prefacelift and facelift models are excellent cars.
250k? Nice!!! Mine just recently hit 170K. I hope to get at least 200k out of this car, but the Illinois road salt is eating this car away really badly ;-; The body rusting out will definitely be the death of this car.
After my fusion dies, I might get a 2006-2009 Lincoln MKZ to replace it. They're both the same car, except the lincoln has the 3.5L V6 found in the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion Sport!
@@nascarsimracing1 Mine has the 4 cylinder instead of the V6, I actually prefer that for the better fuel mileage. This car looks and drives like something with half it's mileage, heck it had over 200k when we bought it from a friend, and it's actually been an incredible car. Just got done last month putting a bunch of parts in it but that's par for the course with older vehicles.

I did also have to replace my alternator and i really hope u don't end up needing to. Because alternator replacement on these is a nightmare.
The "proper" alternator removal involves removing the AC compressor and dropping the subframe. But i just removed my radiator fan and moved some hoses and squeezed it past my radiator. took 7 hours. My alternator died on me bc I ran my Alpine MRV-1507 and two 12" kicker L7r's at 2 ohms bridged on it. 150 amp alternator doesn't appreciate having 100+ amps constantly drawn from it ☠ Now I learned my lesson and put a 350 amp alternator in.
@@nascarsimracing1 If you're doing the reward lower control arms you'll have to drop the subframe also. I was surprised to learn that when doing mine, though the forward one isn't too bad.

If i was a driver (bad eyes) i would definitely buy a special honk which you can record anything........And i would record a braking screeching sound to scare bad drivers and scare them (like the woman that didn't seem to know that she pass thru a red light #9). I almost bought one in the late 1980's while working at a radio shack.

I see the VIOFO A119 MINI2 us forward only. What do you recommend if I want forward and rear looking dash cams?
I got a VIOFO A139 Pro, and while it has a hefty price tag, it records by far the best quality footage I have ever seen from a dash cam. They also make the A129 series which uses a slightly older style sensor for the front camera than the A139, but is about $100 cheaper and still really good compared to a lot of other dashcams.

@@annoney9693 I don't know if you will need any, I got the A139 Pro with front and rear cameras, and it came with everything. I have a fairly large car (Ford Crown Victoria) and had plenty of cable to go to the rear camera, I probably have another 5+ feet extra tucked up in the headliner. The only thing it didn't come with is an SD card, so you would need one, SanDisk makes ones meant for security camera use that can handle the constant writing of video.

On #10, the Tesla driver had his left-turn signal on before executing his turn. Yeah, he was to the far right of the road so he could do a U-turn, but when the car ahead of you puts on his left turn signal, you give the driver room to make a left turn (or U-turn), and you certainly don't try to pass on the left. Yeah, the Tesla driver could have waited for a safer opportunity or used a safer means to turn around, but the POV driver ignoring the Tesla's left turn signal was the primary cause of danger escalation here.

just because you're right doesn't mean it's safe, the bmw could've have a weapon, be on something, or maybe it was a stolen car, you never know, better avoid an incident than enforce "being right"
