This is an amazing video and you work so well together! The fussy cutting on the octopus is outstanding! I am so excited to make Kedemoth bag for my daughter. Thanks so much for a wonderful video and tutorial.
31:41 that front panel came together stealth like at me. WOW! Love that method. I wasn’t going to watch because I really liked this bag and wanted to make it for myself finally. I thought it would be too difficult for me to make and I didn’t want to frustrate myself by watching. Well I wanted to support your channel more and watched anyway & am I ever glad! It’s not near as hard as I had in my head. I should have known to trust the process when it comes to Country Cow Designs Jo❣️💙🫶🏻
Just beautiful. Thanks so much for the tutorial. I’ve only just discovered your channel but I’m subscribed now and will share it. I adore that blue bag, so brilliant - kudos for getting the octopus right.
Hi, thank you for the video. Could you do a video taking about what it takes to finish a product professionally in order to sell it. I look at my work and it looks good from the outside but the inside never looks professional. Either my binding tape is uneven or my tension is not perfect. Thank you
This can be hard. Generally it’s just practise and being comfortable with your machine and materials. We find that it’s not until we’ve made at least 3 of a bag pattern that we would feel it looks “professional” Also we are often our own worst critic. Take a look inside a bag that comes from a factory and you’ll find many mistakes.
Depends on the machine. I wouldn’t add piping and make sure you use a light material for lining. A big needle as well when doing the final assembly👍🏼 We’ve made cork bags on a domestic before. It’s doable 👍🏼
Hi Adam and Jo. I also have a Fabricator (based largely on your recommendation) and I will be using that to construct this bag. Did you use the narrow foot or the leather foot for most of your construction and what stitch length?
Thanks. I can’t wait until my narrow foot comes in-they are on back order. And those are the stitch lengths I use too. Good to confirm with someone more experienced.
Thats so cool and i absolutley LOVE the fussy cutting of the octopus
I think it was worth it😂

Also have one and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Yay!!!! I’ve been waiting for a sailrite sew from you guys!!!!
I love the bag and I love how you cut the pieces so the octopus image continued though the bag! Way to go, Adam!
Thanks 😃
Wow, brilliant tutorial and bag. It looks intimidating, but I might just give it a try.😊

Great job Adam and Jo. It was good to see the challenges you had for this. Love your videos.
It’s good to be honest and not edit out the challenges 😉

Thank you so much!
Exquisite video editing & attention to detail as always 👌
Thank you very much!
I purchased a fabricator and I love it!
Wow! That’s a great looking pattern!
Thank you! 😊
I always enjoy your videos...but I am still sewing Lemonzas...on my 8th one. You are getting way ahead of me!
Don’t worry. It’s one of our favourites as well 👍🏼
I need that next bag too. I better get going 😂
Glad you like it. Happy sewing 👍🏼
Love your bag..great tutorial.
Thank you so much!
Awesome job !!!
Thank you!
Okay, thanks.
Can you tell me where the Octopus fabric came from? I love it!!
This was a cut off from a textiles company in Cornwall. You can’t buy it generally
Wow that was great, what is the white block called when Adam did the binding please.
It’s a magnetic seam guide. I got it from Sailrite when I bought the machine
Thank you, I thought you was based in England.
We are. We had the machine imported.
Great video as always. I wonder where one can get the seam gauge on Adam's machine??
I got this from Sailrite when I bought the machine.
Awesome video! Question: what thread and what size needle did you use in your fabricator? Thank you!
Thanks. For this bag I used a Tex70 with a size 100 needle.
If you do not have an industrial machine, and you want to use cork for the outside... How doable is that with a domestic machine?
Depends on the machine. I wouldn’t add piping and make sure you use a light material for lining. A big needle as well when doing the final assembly👍🏼
We’ve made cork bags on a domestic before. It’s doable 👍🏼
33:49 I spoke too soon……The front panel needed its own time stamp, Girl!
Hi Adam and Jo. I also have a Fabricator (based largely on your recommendation) and I will be using that to construct this bag. Did you use the narrow foot or the leather foot for most of your construction and what stitch length?
I used the narrow foot for the whole bag apart from the piping which I used the piping foot. I use 3mm stitching as standard but 4mm for top stitching
Thanks. I can’t wait until my narrow foot comes in-they are on back order. And those are the stitch lengths I use too. Good to confirm with someone more experienced.
Where did you find such gorgeous octopus fabric 😍
We got it a couple of years ago from a company that sells home furnishings. They were selling offcuts. Glad we finally used it 😃
What is the purpose in general for a messenger bag?
Its a larger crossbody bag with a large opening for better access.
