    My favorite chapter was The Gold Watch, and the Pawn Shop scene. I know it's a fucked up sequence, but that's the point. It's supposed to be Butch's POW Camp, like what his father went through, to save the gold watch.

    My favorite line has got to be when Jules and Vincent are in the bathroom arguing over the towel Vincent just got bloody:
    Jules: " Well you spossed to wash em first."
    Vincent: "Well you just watched me wash em."
    Jules: "I watched you get em wet."
    That line cracks me up every time. Never the kind of humor you'd expect in a movie like this and it's done so earnestly.
    Honorary mention is the true greatest line in the movie by Sam Jackson. "Well I'm a mushroom cloud-layin motherfucker motherfucker."

    I have seen the Marvin got shot in the face scene maybe 10000 times, and even when I know whats coming I just can't help but laugh my ass off. And the funniest part isn't even when he gets shot in the face, it's when Vincent goes "Aw man I shot Marvin in the face..." and says it as if he spilled the milk or something. The whole point of it is subtly, brilliantly illustrated with symbolism all throughout the movie. Ultimately it's about finding _purpose_ and _meaning_ in one's life--particularly when surrounded by a culture that seems to have lost its purpose.

      The middle has very self-refiective conversations that many people can relate to. I could see why someone would think it's meaningless though, the structure of the movie itself is very unconventional

      boring? HA! no, how is anything in the movie boring? the characters are great, their actors are great, the dialogue itself is good, the plot? well if you're smart it's actually very simple to understand, it's different stories that eventually tie together, so no the film is not boring

    • @sierragarabed1227
      @sierragarabed1227 Před 9 lety +5

      thebigbadone1234 I think this is just a person trying to be above everyone else and try to be cool because he has a different opinion. You know how some people put really good movies on their worst movies list and no bad movies at all on them as if they've only watched good movies? Well, this might be one of those people. And if he's not, then good for him he has a different opinion. But he's part of the minority who don't like this masterpiece.

    • @thepaulusmaximus
      @thepaulusmaximus Před 9 lety +1

      +thebigbadone1234 these are the reasons why pulp fiction is boring-as previously stated, there is NO plot whatsoever, it tries to be too stylistic and cute which can never take the place of a good plot, it has all these big name/some excellent actors (well...walken and kietel anyway) and every character is flat, one dimensional...boring, the dialogues are long winded and go nowhere.
      I saw bits of this movie over the years and decided to watch it from start to finish recently-could barely sit through the whole thing. this is either the worst movie of all time or the most overrated movie of all time or both.

      Paul Woletsky No plot? hmm that's funny because when you clearly watch the film there is plot, 3 different plots to be exact so you're wrong. every character is one- dimensional and boring? haha you're clearly just trying to troll now. You gave no logical reasons as to why the film is boring or bad, you simply gave bullshit "reasons" to try and justify the other dude's opinions of the film, if it is so bad, it wouldn't be considered great or the classic that it is, you're dumb xD

    • @2deepy
      @2deepy Před 9 lety

      AirCanada1J5 I'm not saying the action was bad. And yeah, there are some moments like that where the action defines what's going on, but the scene where they talk about foot massages is meant to be dialog-driven. The idea is they aren't acting like normal hit men but once they go inside the apartment room to meet the guys who had the briefcase, they start acting like hit men.
