I have been in love with a particular outfit from Outlander ever since I first watched Season 2. It's a pink jacket with purple petticoat worn by Jamie's ex girlfriend in the garden at Versailles! I'm so excited that I finally had the skill and the time to make one for myself!
To make sure I got the best fit possible, I drafted the jacket pattern myself to my own measurements and I'm so glad I did! Make sure you stay to the end of the video to see the dreamy reveal!

It's a pleasure to come along on your historical costuming journey. I found you when you did your shift video, very much appreciated your dress form thoughts & self-reflection/challenges with...perceived imperfections. What a delight to see, here (I hope you don't mind me saying), your increased confidence and skill level, in both the technical and winging-it areas. Cheers.

Wow your comment made my day!! My shift video was my very first video - it’s so nice to hear from someone who has been following along for my entire journey! It certainly has been a journey with lots of ups and downs and that’s what made this project all the more special. It’s the project I am most proud of and I can truly say I’ve never felt more beautiful than when I wore it! It makes me so excited to continue the journey and make more pretty things. I think at some level the reason I enjoy this hobby is getting to play dress up and turn myself into a princess. My inner child is tickled pink! 🥰

Taking the time to draft from measurements and doing mockups might feel like a waste of time....but NOT doing so is a waste of time, and fabric. ❤ I appreciate your attention to detail ❤

I totally agree! This is one of my favorite outfits to date because it fits so perfectly that it’s always a joy to wear. And as you point out, a mock-up allows you to use fancy fabric since you know it will turn out right in the end
