It was unskilled labor. Working on the the mills in the plant. If you want into the mines best suggestion drillers offsider as it requires no more then a drivers licence. Hard job but if you stick it out you will eventually become a driller, and make good money. Or blast crew, which is also a hard job where if you stick it out you can become a shotfirer. Only ticket required to get onto bomb crew is your dangerous goods security card (DGSC) and then get a police clearance and you will find work.
Sorry for the late reply this role was entry level and was a hr rate of $35 an hour which is very average in Australia and being shut down work your roster changes all the time one week will be 4 days on then home for 2 days the back to work for 5 days then 5 days off its good if ypur looking to get your foot in the door
Most mining sites requires you to get a Confined space ticket, Working at heights, fire emergencies. You can also get a forklift ticket for the extra advantage but that's optional.
Sorry for the late reply, as far as tickets for this role I had confined space and working at heights senior first aid, I believe in qld you need some sort of coal cert. I'd recommend getting your dangerous goods security card and going for a entry level role in drill and blast
Mate how can I get in touch with you?
What kind of work do you do on shutdowns? is it hard to learn the labour? necessarily skilled labour?

Thanks for the informative video and sharing your experiences :)
Let's talk digits. How much are you earning an hour? How much are you taking home after tax? Weighing up the finances before I make a move. Thanks
