Klay has *always* been streaky. If the Warriors were 1st or 2nd in the West, this wouldn't even be a news item. There's no telling what he'll do tomorrow, much less next year. Maybe they have him come off the bench and he hits like 10 fuckin threes in a quarter. That's just who Klay's always been.
I truly believe had Klay not got hurt they would have won that ring without KD. But we can’t pretend this team can maintain what they are currently doing and expect to win. Klay could take a pay cut that matches his current talent so they can add to the roster but it sounds like everyone else might give him a bag. The only reason Klay has to feel low is only because he maintained such a high level of play for long there is no shame to embrace his age and injuries.
Barkley said this about Klay last year, and everybody freaked out. Saying Barkley should apologize etc. Klay is on the downside of his career. Nothing to be upset about, nothing to be ashamed of. It’s going to happen to every player, just accept it.
He only down 2 point from from his average there a second half coming out he normally play better toward end of year he will end the season at his average
It can't help that Steph is still Steph. He's looking over at his fellow splash brother still splash like they both used to while he's being left behind.
People are acting like this is something we’ve never seen before… if you can’t produce the way you used to and it’s detrimental to the team, it’s time to sit on the bench and let the young fellas play.
This just shows how Amazing Bron and Steph is, both guys are Late 30s and still balling like crazy and their team struggling, bron got a bit more better crew but Warriors need to make the tough decision and let Klay and Dray go and build a real team for steph let him try to get atleast 1 more, i believe if steph get better younger guys he would be right there at the top again
Honestly Klay would likely still be balling at his age if not for the injuries. His game translated to NBA “old” age. But not just two injuries, but two major injuries two years in a row, just no way to come back from that like you were.
I’ve watched a handful of games we’ve lost with klay closing and it’s super frustrating seeing him play defence! He’s lost it defensively and in turn takes the stupidest shots for someone whose not having a good season!
I hate when people say game 6 Klay. That’s not a thing bruh. He’s had far more bad game 6’s than good ones. Even in the years when he had a good game 6, in the same playoffs he’s had a trash one 😂 people just be sayin anything
Really interesting take from Lefkoe. Most reactions to Klay have been "suck it up, every aging player goes through this, deal with it", but it actually takes some courage to be open in public about the experience and range of emotions a player like him actually goes through as his career winds down, rather than just bottling it all in and pretending nothing bothers him, like most aging players do.
I always said this. Klay Thompson is just an extraordinary great shooter who happened to find himself in the right place at the right time not an all around great player like people make it seems 🤷♂
As much as I like Klay, his situation right now is his own fault. He's younger than Curry but he didn't do any work over the offseason to be more competitive at his age. Same can be said of Loon and Wiggs. Curry works really hard at staying in shape even when he's on vacation with his family. At Klay's age, Curry muscled up to compete even more. Just look at Klay's body right now, no tone whatsoever
Insane lol. Did you forget that dude had two of the most devastating injuries in all of basketball. There was no conditioning himself against that. Even as great as curry is, he would eventually succumb to that as well. There was a period of time of who was more important to GSW and they had the same importance. Injuries sapped Klay's ability to stay in close games because he can't guard as he used to and teams are targeting him and curry. Can't hide both especially with young players trying to prove themselves.
Don’t forget also making plays for Trayce when he’s a lob threat. I notice they seem to have good chemistry out there when they in the same lineup. 🤷🏾♂️💪🏾
Klay is one of the best two way players ever. Hes had terrible injuries'. Man still putting up good numbers and playing solid D. Wish he had LeBron's dealer.
We saw it coming miles away. When the warriors was losing games or his opponent like booker start going off his only response was 4 fingers meaning his 4 rings. That was the insecurity kicking it and eventually reality kicked in for him
This entire thing is ridiculous once you see the stats. Everyone acts like he's a shell of himself when he is only ONE BASKET off his career average. ONE BASKET. Unbelievable.
Yeah, but that average also includes his early years when he wasn't a prolific scorer. If you look at his peak years, he averaged 20-22 ppg with a 3 point percentage as high as 44%. He did this mainly moving off the ball and converting when he had a sliver of daylight. Currently, its his percentages that sink the team. Look at some recent games: 7/23 vs MIL, 4/19 vs ATL, and the worst 1/11 vs DAL earlier this year. Obviously, he's had some good games this year, but overall, he's shot us out of games far more than he shot us into them. And when the young guns get more playing time, they've produced. Kuminga has been on a tear as of late since voicing his displeasure, Pod has been solid off the bench, Moody has gotten better and deserves more PT, and the young guns have kept us in a lot more games than we deserve. I know it's painful, but Klay needs to accept a reduced role where he distributes the ball more and only shoots when his feet are set and he's open. Last two games: 19 shots vs ATL and a L. 9 shots vs BKN and a W. The offense is much better when he's not chucking them up and trying to "reclaim" what he's lost. And I say all this as an absolute diehard Dubs fan that looks forward to seeing his statue outside Chase in the future.
The League play has adapted to the Warriors style beyond the Arc as well. It’s no surprise Klay is struggling. On the other hand let’s consider how Kuminga plays in the style of MJ and Kobe with his bounce, athleticism, dunks and mid range with a good 3 point %. If JK learns how to make smart decisions in crunch time and lock down on defense forget it. He could be League MVP. Beyond that, Steph is going off beyond the arc and in the paint and JK is a real threat in the paint. Let’s go!
It's been heartbreaking watching this decline of Klay but I always have faith in him. I hope he realizes when his time is over and graciously bows out. No one wants to watch him fail.
Klay still has a ton of basketball to give. But he's shooting at the same volume and now costing the team wins. Doesn't have the same defensive presence, doesn't cut anymore. Just stands and shoots. He (and Kerr!) needs to realize that he's better at 20-25 mins/game.
This is a perspective: why are you guys so hard on Klay just because for the first time in his career, he's only shooting 37% from the three? Damian Lillard is shooting like that for his whole damn career!
@@user-uu7nq7kx8z Huh? Where's the sense in your comment? "Cannot score like Lillard" how do you want to shoot? From the butt? The way you shoot makes you win? It doesn't matter how you shoot it, you shoot, and it should get in, not to miss!

That and Klay was acting hurt about it a month or two ago and Kerr kept sticking with it. They’re in 11th for a reason. But now he’s slowly seeing that he’s just not the same. He thought people were hating on him but when everyone sees what’s going on, yeah it’s telling.

Should have taken that 2yr/$48M deal. He knew his legs were cooked, so did GS. He’d be lucky to get 2yr/20M now. Next man up!
Klay has nothing to feel bad about after all he has done for this franchise and fan base we are so grateful
When are y'all gonna discuss Damian Lillard's hot garbage performances?🙆🤷 Are y'all aware that Klay Thompson is shooting better than Damian Lillard? Damian Lillard is shooting 43 FG% and 34% from 3🤣🤣🤣
Shhhhhhhh. They pretending the Celtics have opposition in the East
True. The difference is the Bucks are in 3rd and GS is in 11th... He aint struggling that bad. I never thought id see the day a coach gets fired for being in 2nd with players underperforming and a coach that is in 11th gets to keep his job

I'm a rockets fan and the warriors suck. But klay was always a man I rooted for feel like he was the most underrated part of the warriors dynasty he held that thang down in golden state. Sad to see the end of his career be brought up by 2 injuries

I somewhat agree with you. He always been streaky but his shot is not the same as it used to be. He didn’t miss wide open looks often back in the day
Klay you have the best shot in the entire NBA. Do your thing. I want to see you here for few more seasons
So does the rest of the West.
@@DrPhill96your no fun huh
I hope Klay can get his confidence back, even though his team beat my Rockets all those years he’s fun to watch when he’s on top of his game.
klay just beyond his prime

Those two major consecutive injuries ended his prime.

KD Is Also Playing At A High Level In Year 17
Why let go of Dray when he still plays a really big role in the team?
Draymond is doing great. Klay just need to change name to Klay Allen
@@rashadmccoy5403 these people forget about KD smh
Honestly Klay would likely still be balling at his age if not for the injuries. His game translated to NBA “old” age. But not just two injuries, but two major injuries two years in a row, just no way to come back from that like you were.
Father Time is still undefeated. Not everyone is Brady, Lebron, or Ronaldo. Thank you klay for the great years of competitive basketball
I’ve watched a handful of games we’ve lost with klay closing and it’s super frustrating seeing him play defence! He’s lost it defensively and in turn takes the stupidest shots for someone whose not having a good season!
It’s gotta be hard for Klay, guy was a damn thorn in Cleveland’s side during those battles with lebron
I hate when people say game 6 Klay. That’s not a thing bruh. He’s had far more bad game 6’s than good ones. Even in the years when he had a good game 6, in the same playoffs he’s had a trash one 😂 people just be sayin anything
I hope Klay embraces his new role as a vet and forme champ. And when he does, this will be the first step in Warrior's success hopefully

Those two actually grew up together in Washington! They played little league together! ⚾️
Really interesting take from Lefkoe. Most reactions to Klay have been "suck it up, every aging player goes through this, deal with it", but it actually takes some courage to be open in public about the experience and range of emotions a player like him actually goes through as his career winds down, rather than just bottling it all in and pretending nothing bothers him, like most aging players do.
that was some honesty
Klay doesn’t condition in the off season like Steph…that’s the secret to Steph’s success…Plus a super tough mentality.
Steph's inner strength is very under-appreciated.
I always said this. Klay Thompson is just an extraordinary great shooter who happened to find himself in the right place at the right time not an all around great player like people make it seems 🤷♂
They makin sure he good no need to hurt one of our best players let one of our young dudes develop. take a chill pill Klay be cool g
Let's go Jamal!! Loved that!
My heart can take the pounding
My mind can handle the grind
But my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.
And that’s OK.
- Kobe, Dear Basketball.
Yup.
Really liked listening to Jamals basketball knowledge
Good talk.
Jamaal is so f***ing cool man
dawg i was just saying this.
Jamal Crawford is so thorough in his analysis.
He has brought championship to the warriors and we are so thankful greatful
Its not about scoring 2O points. No Defense Crawford just jacked up shots. You wonder why some of these guys don't win Championships.
I think Klay would be okay if he adjusted his game and drove to the basket and stopped the terrible shot selection.
Facts. Dude ain’t bad in the paint
Don’t forget also making plays for Trayce when he’s a lob threat. I notice they seem to have good chemistry out there when they in the same lineup. 🤷🏾♂️💪🏾
Its sad to think that the end of Klay was when he tore his ACL off that Danny Green foul in the 2019 Finals vs Toronto
CP was being genuine and Jamal is just trolling 😂
Klay is such a good guy.
His numbers are not that much below his career averages. The Lakers should get him

King Klay Thompson
We saw it coming miles away. When the warriors was losing games or his opponent like booker start going off his only response was 4 fingers meaning his 4 rings. That was the insecurity kicking it and eventually reality kicked in for him
Klay still has and might always have that most points in a quarter record
And…?
wemby will take that in under five years
@@southerndiscomfort171I'll bet you 10 grand that this Wemby does not score 37 points in one quarter Without Missing A Shot like Klay did
This entire thing is ridiculous once you see the stats.
@@RiceWarrior34 very good take, and I agree wholeheartedly. Time to be the Heat Ray Allen!
The problem with Klay is that he wants to start and end the game. His ego is killing his career and his team.
Get Candace Parker off the show
Klay still has a ton of basketball to give. But he's shooting at the same volume and now costing the team wins. Doesn't have the same defensive presence, doesn't cut anymore. Just stands and shoots. He (and Kerr!) needs to realize that he's better at 20-25 mins/game.
klay can definitely comeback, just need to get back in it this off season and work on his fundamentals. warriors just need to support him better
This is a perspective: why are you guys so hard on Klay just because for the first time in his career, he's only shooting 37% from the three? Damian Lillard is shooting like that for his whole damn career!
klay cannot score like Lillard
@@user-uu7nq7kx8z Huh? Where's the sense in your comment? "Cannot score like Lillard" how do you want to shoot? From the butt? The way you shoot makes you win? It doesn't matter how you shoot it, you shoot, and it should get in, not to miss!
Dame can close a game which is what they traded for. The problem is Middleton had been injured since they wrong a ring. Klay = Middleton
@@thejoker220 Read again my comment, what's the sense of "closing out games" if you're always missing (stop just watching highlights and seeing his final score, see how it's done instead). A washed-up Klay is Dame's whole career. Maybe blame his inefficiency for why he's never won anything, rather than being fooled he's greater, or maybe you're just illogical.
Because he has cost them games and won’t adjust his game. He needs to start driving to the basket.
