"are you lazy or are your expectations of yourself too high?" Love this!
YES! this was a quote i had to pause to say out loud as well! i am definitely guilty of giving myself unrealistic expectations and then being hard on myself for not accomplishing them when i am clearly setting myself up for failure in order to see if i can get as much done as I plan out on my google calendar! it was horrible! lol
now i budget more time than i think projects will take and bank the extra time to use toward other activities or self care time (:
I hate how much I'm addicted to CZcams, on days when I don't watch it I get tonnes done!
I'm going to start only watching CZcams videos in the gym, that way it encourages me to go to the gym but it also stops me wasting time at home doing nothing
ooh i LOVE this!!
Going to use this
genius
LOL nice!
This terrifies me, but that is brilliant.
I have 8 children and my husband and I homeschool them. I also love quilting. The new habit I have formed is to get 1 hour of free time after lunch to sew and I also sew at night after the majority of the children are in bed. Starting with continuing to stick to our school routine and being more diligent with putting the babies down for their naps AND being very strict with myself to go to my hobby room helped SO much. My husband also elevated my cutting table and installed some inexpensive ‘white’ lights in the hobby room and now I am sewing every single day! Small, inexpensive fixes and bite sized goal setting works!!
I feel like everyone watching this is being super lazy rn including myself
Lottie Davis haha right?? I've been sitting in front of my computer watching CZcams for the past 2 hours. I'll get up soon :)
only ethical so do I!
Haha, I mean, life's hard - hopefully the vid helps tho xoxo much loove 😊
Yeah... 😂
charlotte davis yup! I am super lazy :/
My tips on preventing laziness:
- minimize social media accounts, who you're following etc.
- start good habits together with friends (going to the gym together, book club for babes📚)
- meal prep healthy food to not have to cook for several days🌶
- find things you like (for me: skillshare classes, listening to ted talks etc, reading self-development books, drawing) and enjoy doing even after a long day at work
Loved the video🌷
Lots of love 💙💚
Thank you for summarising the points
YES!! just reading your reply I got a little extra energy!! (:
Making a list of "Things that make me feel like I'm spending my weekend well" vs "Things that make me feel like I'm wasting the weekend" really helped me (with laziness wrt my weekend habits). I found that part of the reason why I wasn't really able to answer "What did you do this weekend?" questions at work was because I was doing too many things on the latter list, and have really shifted my focus to doing things on the former list!
Perfect timing literally the perfect time.
💕
Same haha
I agree! Especially for those in school. Once you get close to the holidays, it’s easy to stop prioritizing studying for finals and start prioritizing watching pointless cooking videos on Facebook for hours on end. 🙃
same here!!
Same here! Haha
I think to stop putting yourself into a box is so hard! I agree as soon as you start noticing it, it's easier to stop but still takes so much work! We definitely create our own walls - time to knock them down! xx
Smile with Mel yes! I agree. I don’t know how though
Please please do one on procrastination.
Sleeping early! I plan on putting my phone away at 9pm, getting into bed before 10pm, and using my bed for sleeping only.
That one it's been really hard for me too.
Me too but I can't put phone away. I take it in bed -.-
GOALS!
Man I really wish I could do this! Self discipline 😫 soo hard
It took me yeaaars to be able to do that (I have a lot of sleep issues), but I’m finally doing it and it’s SO worth it.
You’ll love it.
Need to play this as my alarm clock every morning
Lol great idea
I have to watch or listen to something inspirational to get me motivated and inspired to get a portion of my life together girl! lol
Just what I needed! Thank you so much for this😭 I'm so angry at myself for spending the morning, afternoon and even until 5 AM watching on CZcams, eating nasty foods, locking in my room doing nothing, scrolling through IG and Facebook and procrastinating, telling myself I can work on that later but never do. Ohgosh how I hate myself😭 Thank you for this!
I spent lots of time on my phone... I would charge my phone in another room that is two or three room away from my study... so that every time I want to check it I literally had to walk pass all the rooms and go... thankyou soo much for these ideas... look forward to everything you shared
Your content is so full of substance. Very efficient use of my lazy time :)
I’m little by little trying to make it harder to reach for my phone and spend pointless time on it. I have turned off my notifications. Installed this app called forest which helps you be productive by setting a timer for like 30 mins (or longer) if you leave the app in those thirty minutes the tree you are growing (to add to your “forest”) will die. I’m also going to move my phone charger to a new location so I can’t reach for it. Thanks for this awesome video:)
I needed this. I'm trying to be a more productive human being, but I have a terrible habit of getting into bed after work and not leaving it. For me it's just a matter of getting up, but that can be so hard to do ugh
nesekaba same!!
I do understand!
it sometimes helps me to put things on my bed that hinder me from getting into it or bring my work (laptop, camera, etc.) into bed with me so that I remember but I am sacrificing if I decide to not work on my goals/dreams! (:
i think another really great point would be to think about internal factors that could make you lazy... like an iron deficiency, poor nutrition or even depression. all of them can deplete you of a lot of energy and influence your behaviour. talk to your gp and get on top of these things!
yes!!! for years and years i thought i was so lazy, but when i cut my sugar intake and started being more active i gained so much energy! really the sugar thing is huge.
such a good point, yesss agreed xoxo
Jesse Ingram totally agree!!
Jesse Ingram I feel the same way
very true take on it!!
procrastination related to fear or depression can be paralyzing as well!
but this would be a LONG video if she spoke on every single topic that can contributed to laziness lol
Wow!!! Thank you thank you!! So needed this right now!! Great pre- prep for the new year too.
I'm going back and rewatching so many of your videos and actually taking notes, trying to learn, be kind to myself, and set realistic goals. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for presenting the possibility of change in a way that's believable and seems achievable!!!
Thank you. I just found your videos today and I'm watching them one after the other. They are incredible! I love your outlook and your approach to making these videos. They are so well made, straight to the point and easy to apply!
I like it that your videos are actually full of really good content and after exploring a lot of productivity related articles and videos I still get to learn something new from your channel. A lot of youtubers just talk about stuff that everyone already knows and it doesn't actually add anything to my life, but your videos are just so substantive and thought through. The tips and the reasoning behind them are really great. Lots of love ❤️
Yes!!!! She actually has info that work and are new. Watching her vids make me a better person so I don't feel guilty watching so much CZcams! 🙌
I really needed this video this (last) week. Thank you Michelle!😘

This was perfect ❤️❤️ perfect of correcting those lazy habits before the new year !
This video was incredibly helpful. I wrote down throughout every step of the video a list of what you are saying and how it implies to me. Thank you so much for the guidance.
simply the best youtuber of all time! love your videos, always so motivating!
I'm re-watching your habit and productivity videos today and taking notes in my bullet journal. Having my ideas, notes, calendar, goal list, to do list, etc. is one habit change that has improved my life radically.
I appreciate you and your encouraging/doable videos. I appreciate your thoughts on the three pillars of setting up for success - environment, routine, and identity. You R-O-C-K!

I like that you used the information from last months book awaken the giant in this video! Combine pain with the things you want to stop doing and pleasure with the habits you want to stimulate. Nicely done!
Yess - sometimes you just need to hear a similar message in a different way 🙏 xoxo much love!
Thank you so much for sharing these ideas with us. This was literally the one I’ve been looking for forever... not necessarily giving us “tips” but actual “reasonable logics” I think every person who’s fighting against their laziness for months and years should be watching this.
Beig lazy af watching michelles video while lying in bed
noooo sounds productive to me!

self educating yourself through anothers @muchelleb experiences and insights

I’m watching this while trying to pull myself out of a depressive funk during finals time at university. I’m majorly struggling to get anything done but I needed this video right now. I plan on putting this ideas (and some of the other videos ideas) into action starting next week (after finals week...cause I need a reset)

Thank you so so much...today was my slug day and now I CANNOT sleep thinking I wasted my day, I didn't study, beating myself up. Ur concept of slug day really reduced my anxiety to a certain level. Thank you, thank you, thanks a ton!!!!
Procrastinating like hell being lazy while watching this 🙃
Thank you so much for your videos! They are always inspiring. I sleep in my workout clothes, so getting up and doing fasted cardio is easier. And I have taken all of my social media apps off of my phone to prevent getting sucked in to their void. :)
Love your vlogs!
When you don't know your goal or why you do those things you're doing that's when you start being lazy and procrastinate. I am at this stage right now but I think I already accepted what my inner voice has been saying for a long time and now I need to finally make some changes until 2017 ends!
OMG You help me every time☺️Thank you for this video ❤️
I LOVE THE TREES AS A TRANSITION, SO PRETTY.
This is so simply explained. Thank you
I really enjoy your videos. They're so good... keep doing it girl.
You are amazing❤️ thank you for all your videos 💞
Thank you for this inspiring video!
What a wonderful video, as always! I love your kindness-towards-self approach in all things. I want to lose the habit of staying in bed in the morning, browsing through IG and watching youtube videos. And instead I would pick up an old habit that I kind of 'lost': Doing 20 minutes of Ashtanga yoga in the morning. I will definitely try these approaches. Thank you! :)
These are really practical ideas on how to make a change!
Thank you for this video 🙏🏽
I am a long-term follower. Wondering if you could do a video on how to be productive or to curb laziness and slugishness when affected by mental illness? I understand it is a touchy topic but I am struggling and you motivate me beyond means
This video is perfect timing with finals coming up! I️ want to make it harder for me to sit my ass on the couch and accidentally watch 3 hours of Netflix and make it easier to study. Not exactly sure how I’m going to do this yet, but I’m excited to figure it out! Thank you, Muchelle! :)
This hit me on a spiritual level 😂🔥 I can't wait to do this in my journal this evening! Thanks Muchelle 😃
Yeees, sending lots of love your way xooxx
i’m watching this after taking a four hour nap so i think i needed this
My kids start going to school and kindy and since then, I don't know what to do with myself so I spend a lot of time in bed or on FB. I like this. So glad I searched.
Thank you so much for making this inspiring video.
I've done or tried many of the negative reinforcements here. It's so easy to point out your own failures, isn't it? What I'm trying now is to find the satisfaction and even amplify it into pleasure if I can, in the things I want to succeed at. So many of my "want to's" require planning, working at something hard, and finally achieving a goal. Finding the pleasure along the way is harder but sweet when I can do it.
perfect timing, just yesterday I told myself enough is enough!
So my issue was that I was procrastinating doing things I wanted to do but that were hard so I started to procrastinate with cooking, cleaning and of course Netflix, Instagram, and youtube in particular.
What I did was that I took a step back and looked at how I felt at the moment (depressed, lonely, like everyone hates me, including myself) and then did a reverse plan of how me feeling like this came to place. I am depressed and unaccomplished and lonely
This video was AMAZING!!!!
REALLY HELPFUL
Thank you! I needed this haha
Great tips, thank you! Just what I needed today :)
I wish I was motivated enough to actually do this 😂
Alexis Danielle same!! Me too

Really good advice, u helped me a lot!
i was planning to be lazy and procrastinate today, but then i saw this! thank youu!! 💗
Surround yourself with productive people.
I agree with your advice re making it easy to exercise. When we moved to our new place, one of our requirements is to be close to a park or conducive area for exercise. That way, I won’t have to go far just to exercise.
LOL I needed this girl, thank you! Is that Estée lauder foundation on your dresser? Its my fav ;)
all good advice! thanks
