This video is all about what you can do to reset and refresh your life for the mid-year.
I talk about all of the stuff that I'm doing to give my life a mini makeover, refreshing my space so that I feel hella rejuvenated, sorting out my routines so that life feels a little bit new, creating new playlists so that I can switch up the daily commutes and doing all those little around-the-house things that I've been putting off for a while.
Hopefully this video will inspire you to do a bit of a 'get your life together' mid-year refresh.

I've started limiting my internet usage. This includes CZcams, games, and other things I find addicting. It's hard, but I'm prepping for possibly cancelling my internet service. I've been depressed and going through a rough time, and escapism just isn't helping. I'm easily addicted to many things, and that's a big problem. I could rant on and on (and am so tempted to) but to keep it short, I just need to remove myself from the internet (mostly).
Now, I'm not going to be off completely, just not nearly as much as I usually am. It's like trying to quit overeating (another issue of mine) where it isn't practical to stop consuming completely.
As I write this, I'm reminded of your video where you mentioned productive rest, and taking vacations. You cited a source which suggested not taking a month long vacation once a year, but more frequent breaks for about a week or something.
What I'm saying is, I think I'll try the 7 day challenge. I'll limit my consumption in those days and see if it helps.

Jay Pilgrim I tried cancelling my internet. I was ready and willing to do it, but they offered me a good deal so I backed down. It would have been easier to go through with it, except my phone gets terrible service in my apartment, so I'd be without wifi or data. Also, I'm terrible at following through.
That being said, I have made progress on reducing my internet usage. While it's still a struggle, I've started to lose my attachment to my phone. I still use it for some addictive behaviors, but I'm noticing why I engage in them. For example, I play a certain game I don't love because it gives me a sense of connection with my mom, who does enjoy it.
But yeah, progress is slow and I keep falling off the wagon. Any tips?
Hi! Same here, I also struggle with excessive internet use (mostly youtube) and overeating. One tip that I would give you is to notice your triggers. Like, what triggers your internet/food binges? For example, when I'm really stressed and overworked at school, I'm more prone to going down a 2-3 hour spiral on youtube (even though I know I'm not enjoying watching videos anymore, I still can't stop). So when I feel/see the first signs of distress/overwhelm/or any negative emotion, I pause and take a step back. I take a break first so I won't end up drowning in regret after I binged on youtube or food.
But ofc I know it's not that simple. I still fall back to my old habits. But less frequently now, so that's great. Another valuable thing to learn to do is forgiving yourself. You have to learn to forgive yourself when you inevitably slip and fall and make a mistake.
And lastly, have you tried those apps that lock you out when you've reached a certain time limit in a particular app?

Love love love. I think most people don't realise how badly we need to declutter our digital life. Even photos on our phone... Deleting extra pictures, screen shots, blurring pictures.

I've been thinking of resetting my social life, although I am an introvert and I enjoy spending the quarantine alone - I think I should be more polite and kind to at least my closest people. So my idea of a 7-day challenge or routine is something about social connections. I just started by establishing a regular Saturday call with Dad :)

I really resonated with this. I have begun today by taking a mental health day off from work. I am also starting on working on the root of my anxiety.

Clean your space (incl. car) --> break it down bc it can be overwhelming
Clean out your wardrobe
Organise the random things that you needed to sort out
Create a new playlist / download new songs
Declutter digitally --> go through your apps, pictures, notes etc. Also: unfollow people on social media
Refresh your routines (eg morning/night/after work/weekend)
Review your goals and systems
Social media detox / cleanse
This was so helpful. I already decluttered my life last year, and realised that I need to do it again this year. Decluttering is also a regular practice. And I might try the new playlist thing!
I am in the middle of a 'reset' and am going to use your tips from this video - thank you! Two steps I am going to add: finances review (what is my net worth? how am I tracking? can I increase my income?) and career review (how am I tracking to my professional goals? is my resume updated? any self improvement I could be doing?).
Loved the tips, I totally agree about not starting too many new habits at a time because it really never works out! I like the new playlist idea, its crazy how much the small things can make SUCH a huge difference. Realllly inspiring video, I loved it ❤️🙌🏼

I put do not disturb on for 6 PM - 9 AM to help me stop using my phone at night. It was a great break. I think it would also be great to break from social for 7 days.

this year is soo good :D the first time ever it's working! I set few but important goals and I'm positive to achieve some in the second half of the year. like I now exercise, meditate,have a morning routine. now I want to do an afternoon and evening routine and cook more and eat healthy :)

The idea with making a new music list I think could also be applied to other media. I tend to slip into a routine where i just work, eat and sleep, so for me it would be nice to look into not only new music, but maybe also into new movies, games, books, clothes (including shoes), makeup and hair styles, cooking recipes.

💛 I am going to do the seven day challenge with declutter uour space, where im going to set time limit on declutting and try to make 1-2 hour a day to declutter, because i suck at this and has been procrasting it since forever 😂. First I will start with breaking down into small step (declutter), maybe make a list that i can cross of when im finish.
💛 Im going to refresh my morning rutine😊, and my nat rutine. It sounds like a lot, but they affect each other, if i want to wake up early, then i need to have good nat routine, i look forward to this part, because i like my routine, but lately a lot things hasnt been working, so i need to refresh them, or ad something that does work.
