  • While tiger populations around the world are crashing, tiger numbers in a remote nature reserve in Sumatra, Indonesia are increasing. Here even man killers are being rehabilitated and released into the wild. The man behind this unique conservation project is Indonesian tycoon, Tomy Winata. Tomy’ s ambitious plan now includes releasing a tiger born in captivity into the wild, will it survive and can the experiment transform conservation practices and save the Sumatran tiger?

This tiger is so intelligent. She understood that by hanging around the rescue center, she would be picked up, help, and feed. She trusted humans. You can even see how nervous and scare she was when she was first caught. However, when she came back for human help for the second time, She was more comfortable around us.

SIZE: Tiger wins this round. Siberian Tigers (the largest tiger subspecies right now) are 3.3 meters (11 feet). African Lions (the largest lion subspecies right now) are 2 meters. (8 feet). Remember, the size comparison of the two were both males.
STRENGTH: Tigers win this round. Tigers have 300 pounds of muscles. Why? They are 2 times heavier than a male African Lion. Again, why? Because of the muscles. Tigers tend to live in tough terrains. They need lots of muscles to jump, run, and climb.
AGILITY: Tigers win this round. Tigers are naturally more faster and better at dodging. They can stand on two feet and use their other two arms to hit. Lions in the other hand are a lot more steady and can only stand on three legs with one arm to hit.
SWIMMING ABILITY: Can't really say for this one but, a tiger is better at swimming. I feel like a tiger-fanboy, because every win is to the tiger but... it is a fact lol. Tigers like to swim, lions don't like to swim. They are both good at swimming but, a tiger is slightly better at it.
INTELLIGENCE: Tigers win this one 100%. A research found that tigers learn faster than lions. They also react and train faster. Lions can get trained, but it is a lot more difficult.
Tigers also have bigger brains than lions.
TEAMWORK: Lions win this one. Lions are born to live in groups. They are best at teamwork. Tigers are solitary creatures, so they live alone and hate to be with a group.
What if they fought?: So let's think. What if the two animals really fought in the wild? Well, let's use our facts we have and compare. (Siberian Tiger vs African Lions, both males).
A tiger would be the first to strike. They have more confidence than the lone lion since they are naturally solitary creatures. The lion wouldn't be sure, he would like to fight with his brothers.
A tiger can stand on two legs, which is a HUGE advantage to the fight. The tiger has the height advantage and he has two arms to hit! More muscles too, remember that.
The lion can bite, but it would be hard since the mane will be in the way. A tiger would bite the neck of the lion easily since the tiger is more agile and flexible.
But the lion won't back off, why? Lions are naturally more stubborn, they won't back off in a fight even if it means they'll die. A tiger doesn't go into unnecessary fights or pointless fights. A tiger will back off a fight if he/she can die.
Overall, a tiger will win most of the fights. But ye know, you never know.
Both are the king of animals.
LIONS THE KING OF THE JUNGL-, oh wait... Lions don't even live in jungles LMAO!
LIONS THE KING OF THE SAVANNA.
TIGERS THE KING OF THE JUNGLE.
      Comments
@Goat If there is a way to escape the tiger will back off or choose to get less aggressive. it goes both ways sometimes tho, like you stated. the lion will also tend to do this depending whether or not the tiger got the chance to weaken it. none the less. none of them will give up if they both know there is no escape like in the Roman Colessum. also to fully re-enact the Roman Colosseum, u would need to have a tiger that wants to live(male that made a family or a female that is pregnant or has babies waiting at home for her return), a fully mad tiger, and a trained tiger(one that grew up fighting large animals due to habitat or human involvement). Tigers>lions. Click to read more
@UCvFNPW2zAPbF3cwX4g9jllA the tigers coat is more valuable than a lions coat. why? because a lions coat is nothing just a plain simple color. a tigers coat is so valuable its one of the major reasons why tigers are becoming extinct due to poaching. lions do not get poached as much as tigers. so u can clearly see there is a difference in price of the two as well. also do to the fact that there is less these days, that also increases the value. but that is unfortunate stuff. i hope tigers become abundant one day. tigers have always been more beautiful since centuries ago hence why fashion is more than just a simple plain lion color. but because they are the most fearsome and violent i can imagine why most people would poach them to feel like a king. the truth is exactly what happened in the Roman Colosseum. tigers easily messed up the lions because the lions could not reach the same ferocity of the tigers not even close. they were outplayed and to this day lion lovers kept trying to raise the crap level of lions because they were butthurt over the Roman Colosseum and just the overall fact of how tigers have BETTER everything than of a lion. the only thing a tiger has trouble with is the lions mane. thats it. everything else is easy if the tiger is pissed off. that lion is gonna run..most of the time the tiger isnt pissed off. thats why u need a Roman Colosseum re-enactment to demonstrate both animals at their peak potential and ferocity. Tiger>lion.
      @butthurt lionfans, a commentator wrote:
And when you see one tiger then you know... Well you never see a Tiger. A ruffle in the bushes behind you, a slow diabolical rumbling and roar, an inexplicable paralyzing terror, all your senses sharpened, the sound of something flying at you, a hard jolt on your neck, the sound of your spinal cord breaking, the ground coming closer to your face, the terror of impending darkness and then slowly darkness.
I write: "that is just one of the vast ways for a tiger to win and to also win while avoiding any injury to live efficiently the solitary lifestyle. i do like how you mentioned about the unique paralysing roar a tiger has because a lion fortunately does not. its roar is never paralyzing because of the obvious difference in the range of vocals that can be produced by these cats. thats just facts.
@Malik Gunebakan nah to me tigers are more majestic so by simply saying a lion is more majestic because you like them more is preference related. tigers have beautiful stripes and i could link that to my majestic reasons. as well as their unique and more scary roar than of a lion's rather plain and less pitch change roar. also the fact that a tiger has almost everything bigger. claws, teeth, etc. not gonna take the time to repost year old stuff i had pasted before. find the posts anywhere in a tiger vs lion video if u need more facts i provided. tigers easily are the more majestic. lions only got a mane thats the only reason they seem more majestic but thats just a mask. its not a reality.

You are right about all things you said but the part of humans moving into Their land etc. This world is here for us all. And instead of pitting us against eachother amd demonizing one side or the other. Lets find ways to live together in peace. The thing about humans is we can create ways to keep us safe from being killed and use common sense not to let your kids run around the damn jungle alone. I mean, if currently being attcked and you kill the animal then thats just life. But for them to go after a kill in revenge is never good. Its not a human thing that is destroying our planet and wildlife. It is certain humans. Big government anf corperations, and people who believe in magical properties of eating some animals etc. And those who just over kill anf eat like the Chinese. We need to educate and show what consequences come when they over fish, kill and eat everything that moves.

I hope the government give Tomy Winata an award for his contribution to saving these rare tigers. The mindset of the displaced people is so puzzling - "We should be allowed to farm as we always have done". NO - It is not your land, it is private property and you have no right at all to farm on it. How do they assume they can just walk into a plot of private land and think that they can take as much of it as they want, well done again Tomy for relocating (Evicting) them.

They released this story about life on Mars and even use tax payer money to fund research. There is 8.7 million species of animals on earth plus 7.5 billion people on earth how can we all go to Mars? People seem to think after earth is destroyed we'll all make the 9 month journey on a space shuttle and live in underground sci-fi cities with photo's of plants and animals on Mars!!!! Impossible. We can't destroy earth and move to Mars. It's impossible. Also our space shuttles can hold about 8 people now, so that's A LOT of trips!
