One of LVRC's Alco RS 3's ended up on the Mich. Southern, along with the first RS2 built, ex D&M 466, sadly both were scrapped. The red RS11, 405, went to Lake State RY, as their 1195,and was also- sadly scrapped.
@2:53 ? I believe that loco was one of two that wound up in service for West Jersey RR located in Salem, NJ. My father & brother got to ride with the crew down there, around 1992, after signing a waiver to do so. They kept the paint scheme, btw, with just lettering alterations. Those chopped nose Alcos are unique & immediately caught my eye !! 🚬😎👍
My understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) when a railroad is abandoned the state of NH retains the right of way in case they need it in the future. At least that's how it was explained to me 40 years ago. Other states haven't been so far-sighted.
The MEC Mountain Division is now part of the Conway Scenic Railroad. And yes ocasionally the mountaineer (a.k.a the notch train) will go to hazens. I guess this is also where Conway Scenic picks up any new Locomotives and rolling stock. As well as exporting equipment they sell off
Love this history, I would have liked to have see the junction during the busy times, I was born 20 years to late! 🇺🇸
Another good job

At 1:20, B&M 1738 is still around and in tourist service at the Heber Valley Railway in Utah.

Yes the ball signal is still currently standing.
What is that northern loop into the city of Berlin in New Hampshire?
That was the Grand Trunk Railway's line from Island Pond, VT to Portland, ME; today it is operated by St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad.
Are you going to do a video on the train station in whitefealed NH?
Did they remove the rails in Littleton or are they still there?
Sadly, currently in the process of being removed.
Great video!
