- The Boston & Maine's 4-4-2 Atlantics, called "Trailers" on the B&M, were the cream of the crop for hauling passengers in the early 1900s. Even when they were relegated to more mundane commuter duties, the high-stepping locomotives drew the attention of railroad enthusiasts until the last example was scrapped in 1952.

The B&M J-1 Atlantic's are my favorite steam locomotive of all time. They look fast standing still! I have a live steam version in 3/4" scale.
My daughter and her family live in Keene. Like every other road I travel I look for raised, level roadbeds that trains travel when we visit. So sad that all four tracks into Keene are gone.
So far, these videos on the B&M's locomotives are really good. Also I think your pretty good at narrating.

Very nice video. Lots of good history with the B&M steam locomotives. Hoping to see the Pacifics and 3713. It’s sad that 3235 wasn’t spared from scrap.

Struck not scrapped. There are a number of 4-4-2s on display including a good condition example #42 at the Henry Ford Museum.
The meaning being that all the B&M examples were scrapped.

Glad you are enjoying! We had some instances of people screenshotting and reposting images elsewhere on the internet without credit or acknowledgement, which is a disservice to the Society, its volunteers, and the original photographers who worked hard to capture the history. So, unfortunately, it is a necessary measure to discourage that.
I understand but it distracts the eye. That was all I could see. Shame. You should rethink this strategy. I’m a member of the society but this seems over cautious seeing your images on the Flickr site have no watermarks. That’s just one man’s opinion. However it’s great seeing the vintage video and the narration is very good.
