@@ipodnano962 Thanks to the nerf to Hog's oneshot, his kit is actually better against tanks than it is against squishes. So that, along with the Winston trying to dive his team, is probably why.

Exactly my thoughts on these people overhyping the so called "nerf". Do they think that every enemy a hog hooks would be above 200hp by the time of hook? No dumb wits, it's simple to reduce the health by 30-40 and then hook and one shot you. Blizzard didn't do shit to his breather or his HP and these people are going nuts...

most of the time (post nerf) hog only does about 105 damage to kiriko because of the small hitbox, he probably was expecting to live it as most hogs don't know how to use hook post nerf

I mean the speed is a pretty minor boost and if you want a support to help 1 shot just go mercy

@@obosranecc2938 Mercy should stick to DPS but it's still good practice to switch boost onto others under certain situations unless the DPS can just get more value / in a direct engagemeant. Ex: Hog on hook, Zen with a fully charged volley, Moria ult if folks are pretty grouped up, Zar if she has high charge sometimes, Orisa ult if it has high potential value, ect.
@@obosranecc2938 Also can be a good idea because if the DPS are very close to ult or have ult you can spend a little time on others to help build theirs faster unless again, the DPS is in a position that require your focus.

Honestly, this hof feels nice. More rewarding, and you can dish out more damage per sec, and I can feel the difference on how fast you can shoot and reload. It's nice

For high ping players hog is kinda unplayable right now, like whats the difference between a hog that oneshot you and a hog that oneshot you with quirurgical precision, it still oneshots you, the difference now is skill, but this game is buggy af and sometimes ping doesnt allow you to play well

He still plays pretty much the same, except more emphasis on pulling whoever you hook into your team than one shotting everything. Orisa is for sure gonna dominate for a while.
it only looks that way because cyx is playing him rn, almost anyone else will struggle and basically throw.
@@PapiDulce11 nah I say that from experience, I’ve played him quite a bit since the change. He doesn’t feel too bad you just have to be more patient and pick your targets/timing better.

@@scarecrow_301 so many times now I get clutch hooks where I say literally yesterday I’d get the kill but now instead i just hooked someone near me who is now getting healed and shooting me now so it just makes it annoying to play
This just really taught me the difference between high and low elo play. In bronze, I'm deleting every monkey I even look at as hog. But I guess up there people know how to play him and not die

it’s great that I completely gave up on playing Overwatch 2 cause I still get overwatch content so I get to look in from the outside on how the game is still continuing to spiral downward. I’m excited to see what hero people are gonna cry about next.

Patch just came out and I see Cyx has already adjusted. He's just consistently landing those right clicks before he even bothers to go for the hook. As expected.
And even then, he was far less oppressive than normal... I think that this nerf works for now

Having a mercy pocketing hog let you to one shot every time, is even more powerful than a sojourn-mercy and I think this could be meta when people notice about that
No it won't be, every tank even hog requires a main healer in most games, mercy is not that which means you still have to have someone go main healer which means the dps get no support. Good mercys will be able to keep track of hogs cooldown and GA over for the dmg boost but that isn't most mercy players
@@MC-ns8gb It’s not hard to track teammate abilities, and it’s even easier for the hog to communicate that he’s about to go for a hook. Damage boost keeps causing problems, looks like it wasn’t just sojourn after all.

Pretty sure a nerf to hog was a nerf to orisa, since orisa was only really meta to begin with since she was a hard counter to hog, currently scrimming winston comps so you have that to look forward to.

@@TheWolfinite that is incorrect, Orisa is still very OP especially when given a single support pocket. Hopefully the slight nerf in the patch will change that... Hopefully.

They coudl've kep the one shot but nerfed the hook range, cause the issue is that good positioning didn't exist against hog unless you're out of LOS and he can yoink you from a map away
this is what I have been saying, everyone is so focused on the 1 shot when in reality they should have nerfed the hook range from 20 m to like 17-15 m

Roadhog nerf was unnecasery, his one shot-combo was the only thing keeping him viable. But its not like its unavoidable or uncounterable. Almost every Tank can counter Roadhogs hook, but these silver players get soooooo mad as soon as they get hooked and killed. People complain about Roadhogs one shot combo. But what about widowmaker? Or sigmas rock plus his primary? Widowmaker can 1 shot almost every character that isnt a Tank, but Roadhog could only one shot Squishys, Reaper and Torbjorn.
I'd say the hog nerf was more deserved than the genji nerf, but i still cant make fun of hog players now because we also know what it feels like to have your character nuked in a way that makes it unfun to play it like how you used to Sadge

Wait I like these changes honestly, I thought hog was gonna be terrible now but they just force hog players to play as a team more, be more accurate and play a little smarter. It’s difficult to tell from this video whether hog is still too good or if it’s just cuz Cyx is insane tho.

@@LeonBlade Technically pulling you into 5 people with guns is not a one shot. You just got CCd but people will still complain. Range might be too long but if its too short then you can't really displace someone dead infront of you.

we did this kind of nerf back in Overwatch 1 to Hog. It didn't end well, because he became underpowered. Cyx being incredible at Hog doesn't mean Hog is good. I can't really understand how they nerf all tanks except Orisa, since Overwatch 1. Doom, JQ, now Hog. Man, these players
Hog doesn't need to farm kills on squishies and make everyone's life miserable to be a viable pick. That's now how you balance a game.
@@LeonBlade his entire existence revolved around being a punching bag, and especially true in Overwatch 2 being single tank. his survivability kit can be easily negated with various abilities, that's why I think that hook-shot combo is his 'signature'. remember; it's a combo, not 1 hit kill like snipers. if you die countless times to Hog with that combo, either you have 0 awareness, you like to 1v1 him, or you just don't play with your team. you literally can sleep him, nade him, throw suzu on your hooked teammate, boop him with junkrat/pharah, or just full on focus shoot him; he won't get those kills.
