It is the responsibility of Governments to take steps to ensure the conservation of wildlife we cannot as a species continue to ignore encroachment, poaching, and the destruction of flora and fauna. What part of the following statement did you not understand?
      "These elephants are simply trying to get beyond the farm, using an age-old route deeply ingrained in their memory, which is now blocked by expanding human settlement."
      They are guided by instinct and memory, so "going around" is not a simple task for them. They do not have human intellect and functionality! DUH!

    Every documentary, film, saying "The future of nature, animals, planet is in our hands", yet when the crew sees a poor animal in imminent risk of dying, they do nothing because of the stupid rule of non-intervention. Why? If he had given water of food to the little elephant, even when we are at risk of extinction, he could have saved a life.

      Mérida Zenteno That’s seriously a really excellent point. It does seem super hypocritical. They need the sad moments for entertainment value. To guilt us. But 5,000 animal documentaries later, it’s obvious guilt trips don’t work. We are all suffering from ADD thanks to technology. Nothing lasts longer than 5 minutes anymore. We watch a sad animal death, we feel upset for a few, then we watch tv or go on Twitter and forget all about it.

    So a little nudge is bending the rules. So what? Had those farms and farmers with guns not been there, all this would have been unnecessary to begin with.
    I wish these farmers could just get together with the aid of someone and build an expressway so elephants can travel through farms so they can just go on their way without having to damage crops.

    • @danieldevito6380
      @danieldevito6380 Před 3 lety +1

      You're wrong. Giving an animal food or water IS taking food out of another animal's mouth. Active predators aren't the only animals out in the wild looking for food. There are COUNTLESS scavengers who rely on the death, whether it be from starvation or dehydration, of other animals. The ONLY time a human should intervene, is when an animal is stuck in a trap or snare that's been laid down by other humans. People have NO BUSINESS giving a wild animal food or water. It only upsets there balance of nature.

    Could domesticating the Elephants like horses be a solution? This is a tough situation...

      @@cathyskywalker77 yeah, well its better than them being killed off. People will continue to expand and saving them by domestication sounds better than just...kill them off.

      @@tancreddehauteville9983 that's rough buddy. Im spit balling for the elephants in the video. I bet they would make great tractors. They get food, the people can expand the farm. just a dream though.

    Let’s face the truth Africa’s population will more than double by 2050 which means less animals elephants are going extinct it’s no longer a if but when. We can by them time but we can’t by them safety from extinction.
