Hence why she's hosting, judging or making appearances and spreading herself across many platforms. You are so right though when you say her vocal talent is wasted........she's going down the wrong route
She was the main one in the Pussycat Dolls. She had the best vocals and what most would consider, the best looks and image. The band were successful here in the UK. She had the most success outside of the band although her music never really set the charts on fire. I think she's had the most success here in the UK, although none of her singles remained on the charts for long. She scored a number 1 before it sank in to obscurity. She made quite a few tv appearances here in the UK, either co-presenting, appearing as a guest or acting as a judge on the X Factor panel. I really loved her, but people didn't really warm to her. She absolutely blew the socks off everyone when she sang this duet with Sam Bailey at the X Factor finals. I dont think many people knew she had such a strong vocal range!
absoftitanium true she does not age, but she has had them. I’m not one to tell someone what to do with their face but she really didn’t need the surgery she was already beautiful. She still is!
I have probably watched this performance more than 50 times since I first discovered it about a year and a half ago. It's more flawless every time I watch it. It deserves the same norotiety that Lady Gaga's The Sound of Music performance garnered.
I knew she can sing but omg, what a voice. She's got everything going on for her. All the way from her gorgeous looks, to her voice, to all the rest of her being...bravo Nicole, you're awesome👏👏👏
I loved Madonna's.. All I could think though though this was, well by near the end, I was thinking ... "she really sounds like, or I hear heavy Striesand influence "... Low and behold - I look to the right and the playlist says "Memory" - which should be "moemories" as far as I remember, but whatever.. And, so okay, I was right. Makes sense. She has a very heavy Striesand inflection to her tone of voice - to my ear anyway. Which is - well, wow, but there could be some serious heavier "insults" considering the magnitude of Striesand's fame at one time - her records were absolutely in my house as a child, so I might know what I'm saying. At least a tiny bit. :)And for anyone who (still)l realizes the actual .. compliment, and ..magnitude of the reference. Anyway, that's my two cents Shocked, and impressed
Holy crap! She SMOKED THE SOUL OUT OF THIS SONG! I had no idea Nicole was this exquisite or sang and acted like a lioness-angel. Smoke then fire. I'm gobsmacked. Best ever.
Andrew Booth WHAT are you smoking? Most singers have to go through extensive training to attain the level of skill she exhibits. I assume you meant to say probably.
Actually I wasn't referring to her level of ability in her singing. Im talking about how although she can perform really well in this style, she properly don't feel natural to her or like singing in this particular style
+Carlos pires Listen to what original? Madonna? ha ha ha! As a vocal instructor with 20+ years of experience and having had students perform this song numerous times over the years, I challenge you to show me exactly where Nicole adds ornaments. And even if she did--This is HER interpretation not yours or how you think it should be interpreted! This isn't a classical aria where the emphasis is put upon singing it technically note for note. This is musical theatre, where its all about the actors' interpretation and their perception of the character. I'm not a Nicole fan, I was honestly looking for a good version to send to a student who is thinking of performing this song for an audition. I had listened to Patti LuPone, Elaine Paige, and Donna Summer sing it. I accidentally clicked on Nicole's version and it caught my attention immediately because of the emotion in her voice in the beginning. I had no idea she had this much talent.
It is shocking how easily you can dismiss someone based on initial impressions. This girl is shocking in every way. Shockingly stunning, shockingly talented and shockingly beautiful.
She is so talented and has an awesome gifted voice that pop music does not do her voice justice. Nicole Sherzinger definitely belongs in Broadway and doing musicals, or something that showcases her talent ❤️
I just watched this video again. How did this woman not become a superstar? She has everything that a lot of superstars don't...including amazing talent.
She is on record saying she refused to sell her soul "to the devil". Meaning she stuck to her morals and values in hollywood. Superstardom in Hollywood is GIVEN not necessarily always EARNED! Some of the most talented people never hit it big...And some of the least talented people are mega stars. and FAITH is typically the problem. Her beauty is also a curse. No doubt she was a target of grooming for wealthy executives who wanted a piece. Occult hand signals are done by almost ALL huge artists....which is strange and telling. The industry is ran by the occult hidden in plain sight. Money is an evil when enough of it can buy you almost anything. The sick stories I've heard about the wealthiest in the industry will have you questioning mankind.
Pedro Cardoso that’s so cool! She was born in Hawaii and is part native Hawaiian, so it’s cool that she got to be part of a movie based on Polynesian culture.
As an Argentine, this performance never fails to give me goosebumps! Nicole Scherzinger is an absolute BEAST on the stage! She perfectly captures the essence of the song: the raw emotion of a flawed human (as we all are) who had just been diagnosed with cervical cancer in juxtaposition with her immaculate propaganda image. Nicole manages to encapsulate all of this in just 4 minutes. Very few songs can masterfully capture such emotional and societal complexities, as well as the political & historic significance as this event. Andrew Lloyd-Webber is a genius, full-stop. He could create such a musical based on a piece of history which is arguably the most significant in Latin America -regardless of politics - and portray Eva Perón in the most respectful way that I've seen to this day.
I had no idea either. Her voice is so amazing I feel a little teary eyed not just by her talent but by the fact that I didn't know. I listened to her sing phantom of the opera but this is my favorite so far. Going on a Nicole youtube binge now lol
I am always so flabbergasted when I remember this is the same girl who sang Don'tcha in the same way I watch Lady Gaga do that incomparable tribute to the sound of music. I understand all too well the desire to sing more commercial music. I was classically trained (minor in vocal performance in college) and always fought to sing like Celine when singing my heart will go on and be encouraged to make it more classical but I wish plain old good singing was more respected and desired in this day and age. It is like the Christina vs Brittney debate from the 90s. Christina has the pipes and Brittney just doesn't but yet Brittney is a huge star. I am not saying I want to listen to musical theatre and classical music all day I just want to hear talented singers use their range and impress us with more than their sexualizing of themselves.
While her pop songs were fun... she was really made for theatre to allow her voice to really shine as well as her emotions. Would be great if she put out an album doing a variety of musical numbers.
Greatly acted as Lloyd Webber pointed out. The dynamics in her voice perfect, her vibrato controlled, exquisite performance. I wish she performed more songs like this, the style suits her so well
After listening to her performance, I can’t listen to anybody else sing this. Truly one of the most captivating and beautiful performances of all time!💕
Omg now that ive seen comment, i cannot stop thinking about it. Disney's been into remakes lately, and for sure at some point they'll be remaking pocahontas.
nourelle calam Nicole is way too old now to play that part, and they would cast a First Nations actress anyway. Also they won’t remake that movie. It is too problematic for the way it portrays history.
To bad her songs dont hit as much as she should be credited for. Voice of an angel. Looks who could wake up a dead man. Edit: The metal, bronze is envious of her skin.

I saw a documentary of a male model who was sexually assaulted by an Exec. Disgusting! As beautiful as Nicole is.... no doubt she was approached by a sicko Exec's assistant for a "meeting".
Meaning she won’t sell her soul
I just need her to release one album of her singing musicals and I will be content.
Best rendition ever
Can we list songs we need on this album??
I Dreamed a Dream is my nomination.
I co-sign this 100
Her vocal talent is wasted on the pop scene. Of course, that's where the money is, so it's understandable.
+Charles W je suis d accord ! ....
+Charles W - Didn't know she could sing so well...
+Charles W Thats not where she's making her money unfortunately as none of her songs have been huge hits. Hence why she's hosting, judging or making appearances and spreading herself across many platforms. You are so right though when you say her vocal talent is wasted........she's going down the wrong route
Imaani Brown Wow, didn't know that. Was she kind of big for a while when she was part of the pussycat dolls?
It was like she transformed herself into Evita! Absolutely stunning.
Don't Cry made ME cry!!! Gawd, her voice is spectacular! She played the role and made you feel it!!! Flawless!!! 💕😭 Please don't ever stop singing!!!
Wow first time I have heard her sing, very intense women, great
Me too. Excellent!
you should watch her when she sang 'the phantom of the opera' !
MoMoMyPup10 She actually used to be the lead singer of a girl group called the Pussycat Dolls.
Marc Lloyd-Princeton
Yeah I don't call that singing...
digitalmediafan n
This performance is flawless. FLAWLESS. This will forever be one of my favorite things.
She has the most incredible voice. Absolutely beautiful 😍
Total vocal power house! Her range is absolutely incredible!
It's like the song was waiting for her voice to come along... I've heard this professionally sung a dozen different times... never like this.
she sang it so glorious and with honour and love and sensuality all in one. just perfection.
Brandon R You’re absolutely right
The music is finally alive
That’s like, the best compliment a singer could hear. ☺️
First time I’ve gotten goosebumps almost from the first note of this song. Fantastic rendition
The posture, the voice, the facial expressions and how she made this song hers is what truly makes an artist become a legend.
I agree 100 percent!!!
absoftitanium true she does not age, but she has had them. I’m not one to tell someone what to do with their face but she really didn’t need the surgery she was already beautiful. She still is!
STFU.
So very true. Well written!!🙏🏾
She was amazing in this performance. I absolutely love it
PERFECTION ON EVERY LEVEL!!!!!!! Disgusting she is not appreciated enough for the incredible talent she is!!!!!
Nicole is one of the most underrated singers ever ❤❤❤
Asking a person with a voice like this to sing silly pop music for a living, is like asking Van Gogh to paint by number for his lunch.
Analogy 👏👏👏
Perfectly said..
Because she can.
Great analogy! I'm going to have to use that some time... Thanks!
Olivia, I love this lol. I'll steal this van gogh reference 😂
I have probably watched this performance more than 50 times since I first discovered it about a year and a half ago. It's more flawless every time I watch it. It deserves the same norotiety that Lady Gaga's The Sound of Music performance garnered.
Me too
Me tooo
yeah they are both underated
Ethentent couldn't agree more!!!!
Too bad she didnt do alot of singing in moana
Best version of this song I have ever heard
I knew she can sing but omg, what a voice. She's got everything going on for her. All the way from her gorgeous looks, to her voice, to all the rest of her being...bravo Nicole, you're awesome👏👏👏
When you impress Andrew Lloyd Webber with your performance you are not just a star you are a superstar.
The way she does the "So I choose freedom" line gives me chills every time, every element of it is spot on.
KimmimaruSai A-fkn-men!!!! I held my breath there
I'm So Ashamed To Never Have Known How extraordinary Nicole Is. Balling My Eyes Out 😭❤
The world is just not ready for her. Love you Nicole.
3:30 im OBSESSED with the way her voice cracks (or whatever that was in the beginning of that line), it made it sound even more powerful!
Glad I'm not the only one!
Same here
Snap!
Sometimes the human imperfections of a live performance make it more powerful
It's vibrato....and it's incredible.
Before this I loved madonna's version but this tops it. It's so intense and cool
I would watch a version with Nicole xD
Madonna's version is low on my list. Before this my favorite was Karen Carpenter--but this was unbelievable.
Which is - well, wow, but there could be some serious heavier "insults" considering the magnitude of Striesand's fame at one time -
her records were absolutely in my house as a child, so
I might know what I'm saying. At least a tiny bit. :)And for anyone who (still)l realizes the actual .. compliment, and ..magnitude of the reference.
Anyway, that's my two cents
Shocked, and impressed
You need to hear the original by Julie Covington. Nicole is wonderful though. The best current female voice by miles.
Julie Covington
This woman has a fabulous technique and is very in control of her voice.Beautiful.I Love her smooth movement between vocal styles.
The best by far. No one touches her on this one. I'm so glad I found this!
Holy crap! She SMOKED THE SOUL OUT OF THIS SONG! I had no idea Nicole was this exquisite or sang and acted like a lioness-angel. Smoke then fire. I'm gobsmacked. Best ever.
the truth is most singers properly can sing like this but chooses not to or feel comfortable to sing like it
Andrew Booth WHAT are you smoking? Most singers have to go through extensive training to attain the level of skill she exhibits. I assume you meant to say probably.
Actually I wasn't referring to her level of ability in her singing. Im talking about how although she can perform really well in this style, she properly don't feel natural to her or like singing in this particular style
+Carlos pires Ah the man himself picked her and loved her rendition not the first time she sang for him
+Carlos pires Listen to what original? Madonna?
Howard Skeivys,
I totally agree with assessment of this artist, she is great!
Outstanding in every way!!!
I love this woman so much. She's so underrated, her voice is phenomenal ❤❤
She absolutely is a superstar….
lol she is one .. :D
Wow!
she's more famous than any broadway singer I know. lol
Here in 2019, she sounds like a Disney Princess :)
And looks like one. Pocahontas, where ya at?
longlivingdude She does look like Pocahontas omg, but Disney would never hire her bc it would be cultural appropriation sigh
@@dramaticvirghoe Ehhh...have you seen Aladdin?
Well, she is Moana's mom, that actually makes her a queen 💁🏻♂️
This really is the standard of how this song should be performed. Her diction and breath control are flawless.
I’ve heard many people sing this song, but for me, no one touches Nicole‘s performance. Absolutely TRANSPLENDENT.
Hello,Try to listen to Lea Salonga version
Thanks.
@@melodeereyes3911 ...or PALOMA SAN BASILIO (spanish version)
Patti is still my fave.
@@carblarson8868
I saw Patti play Evita in the 80’s. She was electrifying.
@@Raina430 What a memory! I would have given anything to have seen her.
I had no idea this incredible voice was inside this 'pop singer'. What an incredible talent. And style!
Absolutly fantastic.
Have you seen her Phantom of the Opera video. It knocked me for six x
I had no idea either. Her voice is so amazing I feel a little teary eyed not just by her talent but by the fact that I didn't know. I listened to her sing phantom of the opera but this is my favorite so far. Going on a Nicole youtube binge now lol
I ❤️ your songs 🎵 GOD BLESS
Check out her Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Variety Performance. Incredible.
Underrated ! She's perfect ! Beauty, Dancing and Singing. Always a fan.
She is a REAL SINGER!💐👏🔥
I never really liked this song... till this moment when I heared this. She gave this song GREATNESS.
Adelissa Hunsley it’s crazy really. I also enjoy the more classical sounds
Thank you. I’m not alone.
Britney absolutely does have the pipes czcams.com/video/wWuK5EnXaWU/video.html
It’s Nicole’s choice to pursue pop
Britney could sing just as well as Christina until she had to do the baby voice
Dear NBC, ABC or Fox, we need an “Evita Live” and Nicole Scherzinger must play Eva! Thank you!
Oh my gosh yes! That is SUCH a good idea.
Perez Hilton And Family don’t be so stupid, what is needed is a person who has dedicated their life to theatre and the history of Eva peron
please
who do you pick for Che?
Oliver Delica Dulce pontes
The performance was masterpiece in all aspects. ❤️🙌
One of the best version i have ever heard of this song. Magnificent performance.
Standing ovation. Bravo!!
one of the most underestimated artists in the industry..... beautiful and powerful voice
Agree Sirus...Beautiful
!
sirus judon very true
Holy cow. I grew up with the Madonna version and I loved the song, but Nicole's rendition has meat on it and will keep satisfied much longer.
Check out Patti Lupones version. Epic.
Who's Madonna!
@@poopypoop8156 Duh. pretending who doesnt know madonna or youre just literally stupid?
You should listen to Julie Covingtons version from 1976 by far the best version ever
All the Broadway versions will blow you away. They are amazing.
While her pop songs were fun... she was really made for theatre to allow her voice to really shine as well as her emotions.
Would be great if she put out an album doing a variety of musical numbers.
I get goosebumps every time I hear Nicole Scherzinger sing this. It's a wonderful song, but she takes it to another level. This rendition is amazing!
If you want an example of perfect, voice, presentation. dress, make up, choreography, just everything, it is a moment, not a song
Perfect description. This performance is stunning.
Darn you hit the nail on the head, thank you and greetings from Buenos Aires!
Greatly acted as Lloyd Webber pointed out. The dynamics in her voice perfect, her vibrato controlled, exquisite performance. I wish she performed more songs like this, the style suits her so well
After listening to her performance, I can’t listen to anybody else sing this. Truly one of the most captivating and beautiful performances of all time!💕
This is live everyone. No auto tune. Just Nicole!
What is that at 3:30? autotune going in and out
@@jordanmc9015 Good catch. Or, it is just Nicole starting at the wrong pitch?
Its sounded a lot too digital to be natural
they should have done pocahantus played by nicole . perfect
No !
Omg now that ive seen comment, i cannot stop thinking about it. Disney's been into remakes lately, and for sure at some point they'll be remaking pocahontas.
nourelle calam
Nicole is way too old now to play that part, and they would cast a First Nations actress anyway.
Also they won’t remake that movie. It is too problematic for the way it portrays history.
@@jeannedecembre4514 Why not. She is the perfect pocahontas
@@ashitatatireddy8459 No, she's not.
To bad her songs dont hit as much as she should be credited for.
Voice of an angel. Looks who could wake up a dead man.
Edit: The metal, bronze is envious of her skin.
Amen to that; her skin is absolutely flawless. Beautiful woman.
It's borderline criminal a singer of this caliber was once stuck in a girl group singing 'don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me'. Extremely underrated.
What a beautiful voice I love this song nice memories still listening! how're you Stephen?
This is my favorite version of this song. She is absolutely amazing. So beautiful.
