I was lucky enough to see her perform this at the O2 and she took my breath away and Im not embarrassed to say a tear formed in my eye. it was so beautiful. She was classically trained so this is a walk in the park!

Evita is technically a rock opera, and as an opera singer, I can say that Nicole doesn't have perfect opera voice as it's too breathy and light, but it works for musical theatre/art song types.

One thing I love about this woman is that when she duets with others, even with the enormity of her voice, she partners instead of overwhelming. I have heard Senor Bocelli sing with other women who also have great vocal power i.e. Celine Dionne, who utterly drown him out when they open it all the way up.

No, not Castillian . . . SA Spanish, which would be appropriate for this song. I do know Bocelli does dialects quite accurately so I would imagine he matched the Spanish here.
Q She has a strong american accent, I know it because my first language is spanish from Latin America and Bocelli speak spanish very well but he has an accent that is not near spanish from Europe. So I will guess he has a good latino accent like mine.
You are right that his Spanish (really Castilian) is from Latin America. He does not sing like a Spaniard. Julio Iglesias is a good example of the difference. I lived in Spain for years and you can easily tell the difference. Also NEVER go to Spain and say I speak Spanish. There is NO such language. They will correct you real fast. It is Castilian. Depending on what area of Spain you are visiting, they can become very offended.

Saludos, quizá te resulte interesante saber algo que siempre me llama la atención acerca de Eva Perón, (Maria Eva Duarte, su "real name").
Suelo ir al cementerio de Recoleta ( Bs. As.), allí esta la tumba de Evita y además está enterrado un santo sacerdote carismático que fue un gran amigo mío a quien voy a rendir un homenaje cada año y siempre observo que la tumba de Eva Perón esta muy concurrida, van turistas de todo el mundo, aún a tantos años de su muerte mantiene un enigmático carisma que siempre me sorprende. yo nunca visite la tumba de Evita pero veo que es como un imán para infinidad de personas de todo el mundo, evidentemente hubo algo en su persona o historia ( bueno y mucho malo también, ciertamente no fue una santa) que hace emocionar y eso resuena en esta canción.
