Just say thank you. I wouldn’t buy any service from her.
12:40 Isn't saying that insulting to the caller? Why do you believe you need webcoms?
Like if I call for a pizza and you ask why do I believe I need pizza?
Maybe not the best example but do you get what I'm trying to say?
Thanks for your time. 😁👍

i just can't believe what i've found on the internet! man this so much valueable 🤯 is this all free i just can't believe.
Brand loyalty no longer exists in this day in age. Price is king. Who can sell at a lower price and make a profit will win. Cheapskates are the kings.
At least all the businesses that I have worked for have had no brand loyalty.
Brave woman! She really put herself out there and it really helped Chris illustrate his points.
"Speak less, ask more questions."
and in such she probably learnt the most in this session!
Matt C Reynolds how can you work out what your prospect might be making without asking them?
She looked like she was bailing but she bounded back. Much respect.
How can you actually "speak less" while simultaneously asking more questions?

If it works for you; write Chris a check ;)

I'm a little taken back by how much good stuff can be in one lecture.... Why the hell couldn't my college have been like this?
Because college lectures will never teach you about life skills,
so totally TRUE.... College can't provide that....?
I was about to post a similar comment, then saw this.
I spent 7 years (and a lot of money) on college and grad school, and honestly, I never had this type of engagement while learning. This is the future of education. Chris, you are so inspiring.
Well, I worked in advertising and marketing for 10+ years (on the interactive / QC rather than the design / client sides), and I spent a lot of time preparing quotes and putting together pitches for new business. The process was always mysterious, and not just to me. No one seemed to understand what would work. Chris in this one video clarified everything for me: the right approach, the psychology, the importance of not selling and value vs. time. Chris is tough but everything he says is empowering rather than discouraging - that's a gift. He talks about logic, but he is more than logical, he's intuitive and empathic. I will think this through in terms of my own business. Kudos as well to the young woman who put herself on the line and took feedback in good spirit. It's a good reminder that quite often you need to get honest, constructive feedback and you need to get it from someone who knows what they're talking about, and you need to not take it personally. "Tell me more that I'm doing wrong!" Five stars.
Thank you 😊
I agree with this. I definitely sense logic and empathy in his speech. Which is extremely rare. Most people possess one or the other and rarely both. I myself am still working for that balance.
@@Hamyhamster24 the combination of emotional and logical intelligence is powerful.
@@uns33n polar opposites, there’s always a compromise. You compromise logic for empathy or empathy for logic.

The Futur sure thanks guys. Would love to see more of this.
My coworkers probably think I'm weird because I keep sharing The Futur videos that I find valuable on our company Slack. So I share a lot. But if the worst that can happen is that people think I'm weird, and the best that can happen is that somebody enjoys something that I post... that's worth it to me.

I know this is aimed at artistic designers, but I'm getting into freelance engineering and these concepts transcend boundaries. Thank you so much!
Also to photographers. :)
The great thing about this is it can be paired to *ALL* creatives, independent contractors, entrepreneurs, etc.
Design is design
When you say freelance "engineering" what does that mean specifically? Are you an actual engineering with sign off authority (PE)?
These are just straight up life lessons
Thanks to this single video, I was able to close 3 jobs for a total of 18.000$ the week after I watched it. Thanks Chris!
Congrats
The young woman that provided feedback in the first example was a student of mine! I was so shocked to see her!
I'm like 5 mins into this and wondering HOW and WHY I am not already subscribed and listening to all these vids. Where have you been all my designer life?!

"A person who doesn't value their time, won't value your time" ~ Chris Do. My collection of Chris quote grows
Sometimes I'm in awe of how much value you put out there for FREE. I listened to your podcast. You said your coworkers were stunned that you wanted to give all this material away for free. You became a leader of thought and knowledge. Every day you prove your worth and you don't sell yourself. You don't have to. You prove you're worth the money.
Thank you so much.
Would love to see a dedicated video on how to diagnose client problems!
There are some on their channel if you want, without mentioning Chris did it on this video.
Uncle Chris, this is life-changing! Thank you so much!
Important lessons:
- ask 'why' questions, ask better questions
- whoever asks more questions is in control
- serve, don't sell
Im a real estate agent working with a company that spent 15 years polishing our sales tactics and everything revolves around value! We work through questions that help us diagnose and give value through fixing the problem the client might have. Everything here checks out! The guy obviously knows his stuff and i think he's one of the few actual business gurus who you should follow and even hire. Stay away from the Gary Vs and Grant Cardones of the world!!
Thank you Andy

they have. they should. but I'm giving it away for free.
Chris do you realise how crazy this is. You are a selfless person! Thanks
For my own reference as I’m planning to rewatch this.

Definitely the best youtube channel on earth. Your free stuff is INSANE, I wonder how valuable the paid stuff is. Definitely soaking this all up and going to use this and create gold while serving others.
Nothing what Chris says is new. You don’t need to pay for his courses to learn this stuff. Also, many things he says are based on feelings not facts.
@@cosminiancu8371 What alternatives do you know of where I can learn from? Thanks
@@cosminiancu8371 Even if that's true, Chris is really good at putting it all in one place in an easily digestible format. My guess is there's plenty of books or blog posts or conference training you could attend over the years and put all this knowledge together, but it's not going to be in as nice of a package, and you're going to have to work hard for every piece.
@@cosminiancu8371 There is no fact in the business world, it's evolving every single second you better trust your instinct.
@@JayLooney precisely there is value in coherent concise packaging but moreover there is value in a compelling delivery that rewires your thought processes. Chris continually serves gold in such a clear and succinct way. The brilliance of the way he teaches, is by applying the very same techniques on the students as he would on the clients, thereby flipping the perspective so that the students learn to see through the client's eyes.
Jedi mind tricks 101.
That first mini roleplay reminded me of "sell me this pen" scene and Belfort made a similar comment on that as amateur will attack you with arguments whereas a pro will ask questions
I owe 60K in college loans, and this free content is way more valuable to my business than anything I learned in lectures by out of touch academics
I came for logo designs. Stayed for logo marketing and Chris being a very charismatic and energetic host.
I'm a UI/UX designer, I also do freelance work and your videos helped me more than I could have ever imagined, especially including this one. Thank you, Chris and thank you to all those who keep The Futur alive!
Chris the fact that you give this away for free is so amazing. I can't wait to do the same as my business grows and pay it forward.
CZcams read my mind. I needed to skill up my selling "game" and this video came up and it's really changing the way I see the process! Funny thing, I did not even search for the topic, the video just came up while I was looking at totally unrelated entertainment content.
I have the impression that using concrete cases of people makes Chris' explanation very easy to integrate and reuse. It may be a good idea to use this exchange format more often to explain a process. Thanks Chris and all the team for the priceless content.
This is the best video of the futur and the entire online entrepeneur community.

Quote of the day: "Do not spend a small effort for a big result. Don't spend a big effort for a small result"
Haven't laughed in ages this is so goo. Very raw content to get people related about their situation how to approach or even how to ask questions that doesn't sell straight away
Great ideas and tips here that also translate well to the Coaching Industry
Unimaginable value for a free video. Honestly can’t comprehend it.
From someone who's been in several places in this business, that all makes a lot of sense. The problem I'm having right now is how to make the client understand that I can't guarantee those results and even then agree on paying that money.
Thank you so much, again, Chris. I'm finally starting my own business. Ignited by people like you, who give great advice and an occasional kick in the but. I got my foot in the door at different businesses by stipulating what value I can bring to their business and increase their income. Now they ask my price and I'm sweating carrots because it is so niche and difficult to set my price. It's all new
Bravo and good luck.
This is better than any business consulting I have ever seen!! Really cool
Thank you
These videos are so insightful! Every other year I rewatch them to refresh my perspective

I went to work for a Xerox sales agency back in 2001 they sent me to Leesburg Virginia for their sales training, they were trying to teach us value add sales training, however, they made it much more complicated than Chris Do, he has made this much easier!!! Bravo Chris for understanding how to serve people from your heart! I'm in line on your list. Great job.

these seminars are better than any other classes i have ever had before
This man is amazing. I stumbled over one of his videos a year ago, then ordered Jim Rohn's book, which changed my life on several levels.

«Thank you guys, for being so open and generous»... Come on... You're the one giving... We just receive!!!
“Speak less. Ask more questions.” I couldn’t agree more. Listening is key and many people think that hearing sounds through their ears is listening. When we listen more and talk less, we gain valuable cues as to what the other person is trying to tell you. Then we can ask the right questions that tailor to their needs.
Thank you so much for always sharing your valuable time for free. 😊🙏🏼
Guys I’m so grateful for what you’re doing!!! I learned how to approach graphic design from your channel and now I’m a graphic designer for a multinational company for more than a year
I shared your channel with all my colleagues and friends that are in the creative industry
I LOVE value based pricing. It allows for so much more flexibility and room for the business owner and removes false expectations for the customer.
This is the clearest Chris has taught this concept. My goodness! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Long time lurker to your channel. We got our first client today by applying your lessons. In particular, "if you don't feel a bit affraid of the high price you are giving to your client, then you are doing it wrong". Thanks man 👍🏻
I appreciate what Chris does and his free classes so as a payback I am watching adds those pop up without skipping them :) I wanna contribute my little part and pay him too! that is how convincing he is!!!! I love his work!
Eye opening. Now I see why the business part of it is so important and is not necessarily something complicated and hard, once you decide to learn it and give it time, and use it. Thank you! :)
I wanted to watch The Futur videos while doing cardio in the gym (both to work out more and to learn more) but there are so many "golden nuggets" of information in each video that I am going to watch them a second time and TAKE NOTES! :) Not mad - just saying :)
This is such an eye-opener that I had to watch it again before I talked to a client. And It worked!!! He just agreed on a 24,000 / yr contract! Now my question for Chris is, how do you agree on payments? Monthly payments or all in advanced?
50 percent up front. 25 upon major milestone and 25 on delivery. don't forget to send us #Tenpercent of the difference. ;)
@@thefutur Thank you! Thank you! I'm working on the proposal and will make sure to send my #tenpercent to Uncle Chris!!!
I just purchased your "Perfect Proposal" course and... Maaaan! Insecurity just struck me!!! Don't take me wrong here, The Perfect Proposal guides and templates are incredibly professional and so full of information, but I'm afraid my customer (whose business is art restoration) will be overwhelmed with so much information. On the other hand, I don't have enough case studies. Most of my work has been small deliverables, like business cards, logo designs or websites and didn't go in so much depth, as you presented it, or have a formal studio, (I just work from my basement), in order to justify my capabilities. Also, I don't have a big team. I am a one-man-band! And I haven't won any prizes and recognitions. I feel like I'm back to ground zero.
man... this is intense.. and deliciously informative
i can make a 2 hour 20 min movie out of this video..
really very helpful information i got from here... you guys are doing a incredible job..
thank you..
you guys will change the game of the online designing community very soon.
This is amazing, It really opened my eyes and showed me what I am doing wrong, why I always settle for a less price than what I had in mind and that is because I do not ask questions, I give advice. Thank you Chris Do and the futur
Question: Would this same concept work when I am the one approaching the client trying to offer design service?
I'm so grateful for Jody... her struggle is my struggle. Constantly feeling the need to sell and pitch, sell and pitch,... How to break out of that cycle though... that's the key.
Man I've seen almost all Chris's previous value based pricing before and still these 40 minutes went by in a blink.
Thank you so much!!
You’re very welcome
This video blew my mind. It's like watching a business Jedi mind trick and Chris is Luke Skywalker.
Man, Chris. God bless you man. You're transforming whole life trajectories with these methods. Solving (art) world hunger if you will. I don't know how but this year, I want to work with you or be on your podcast.
Thank Chris for the enlightenment. But I want to know, how do you manage outsourced projects based on the processes you've mentioned?
I'm an English teacher and have no training in marketing. I'm working on a course to help Spanish speaking people improve their pronunciation and I didn't even think about how powerful information like this can be. This video is gold.
People jump down Chris throat all the time and are quick to judge. He plays a character. This video shows how well that character can help those who feel uncomfortable or are new to the industry learn quickly. I feel like those who just want to shit on Chris and what he does are either a) upset that they can't take what he says works and apply it b) are stuck in their ways and don't want to think there may be other ways. This video is great.
Holy Do, i love this deep philosophy of how to deal with situations, it`s amazing GREAT F. Video
I am here because I care about my future, thanks Chris & Co.
You're very welcome
The fluid of how the conversation works in this video is amazing.
Wow! I just had a conversation with a client yesterday and I wish I would have watched this first. Not only is it about us getting into another mindset on pricing, but helping the client see that too (which is where questions come into play). Thank you for what you do, and I wish they taught like this in school.
this can be applied to any aspect of life. relationships, jobs, business.
give an example for relationships, so we get your analogy..
This is amazingly accessible. Pure knowledge and wisdom for free. This feels like it should be a full paid course.
Amazing work! @the futur
This info is priceless! Thank you Chris!Shifting focus on probing and offering a service vs selling makes so much sense and comes off a lot more natural.
This was a GREAT video! I love the focus on finding the value before the scope.
Chris is actually a zen master in facade :-D
this is gold
There’s no other way to say it: we’d be lost without you. Chris!
This is fundamentally the single biggest mind blow ever. I've seen this strategy discussed before in some of your other videos but its always great to going over and reinforce the teachings again. Just brilliant. So many people going about it the wrong way. Thank you for all the great content you guys put up, I really appreciate it. I'll never forget it.
The Futur should be a post-design/art-school program for all creatives out there.
Yes!!
Extra super dope content. BIG THANKS for that !
One question remains. A client could ask us to PROVE we can reach the targets we discuss about. So we need metrics. And for small businesses which have (like me) no idea about good metrics, which one are the most useful and how do we do that in practice ? Any great resource on that ? THANKS !!!
I second this question!
At 36 minutes he talks about discounting for uncertainty, that's part of the pricing. I'm going guess they get more into the metrics in the educational products that they sell on their website.
Never thought I'd watch a 40 minutes video on CZcams. This is superb. I learned a lot
Glad to hear
Thank you man! Struggling with this! Highly appreciated!
That new logo outro animation is dope.
Recently considering pitching like the initial lady. Hilarious yet informative answers, thanks MR Do!. If you have a UI/UX worldwide collaboration event, I"d like to join.
How is this channel not massive? This is invaluable even to me as a freelance software engineer and firm owner. I have to price and pull in customers. I never sell I always look to serve. I love what I do and I won’t take on a project I don’t see as having value to help people. Yet I continue to get shoe horned into creating estimates for my time rather than the value I bring the business. This is such an effective formula for tackling both the introduction and the bid. 10/10 I’d value a relationship with thefutur.
