- Kyubey is a high end sushi restaurant located in the Ginza area of Tokyo. The method of presenting Uni wrapped in nori, gunkanmaki, originated here and is known as the warship roll.
We were gifted to have Kagehisa Imada, a descendant of the founder, as our itamae for the evening. I still have his card. The omakase included delicious familiars as well as amazing new experiences. However, when editing this video we realized we were unsure of some of the names of the items presented to us. The end of the video is a numbered montage of our feast. If you know their names please comment below:

It ended up being a food 😂😂😂
I was looking up this restaurant and all the results where about a white anime cat, guess that’s the other kyubey
Just got my reservation for my trip in October, watching your vid has me excited. Thanks for the upload.
You’re going to have a great vacation.
Corona :No you don't
How did the trip turn out
日本を代表する高級寿司店ですね 包丁が美しい
It's a high-class sushi restaurant that represents Japan. The kitchen knives are beautiful.
I agree.
I'm thinking of making a reservation for my trip in a few months. How much did you pay per person if you don't mind me asking? And are there different types of omakase? Because I didn't see much sushi in this video, and I wanna try their sushi.
I also heard, that there's a dress code. Is that true ?
I don’t remember the cost, but it was definitely expensive. They do have a Sushi only Omakase as well.
Santiago Romero
I heard that as well. Originally I was told a jacket was required, but then I was told business casual was also acceptable. I went without a jacket and had no issues. Enjoy.
In £ it was about £250 -£300. Don’t wear perfume when you go
What omakase course did you go with for this video?
It was the large omakase. I believe it was 16 pieces plus some additional items. It was all very good.
@@theventuretravelist9048 how much?
@@draeyknitram8104 I don’t remember exactly how much it was, but it was expensive. I think it was somewhere around $200US per person. Lunch is much less expensive and there are less expensive dinner options. A once in a lifetime experience that was definitely worth it.
As an aside, we also had some excellent sushi at some reasonably priced restaurants that we just stumbled upon while walking around various cities in Japan.
@@theventuretravelist9048 thank u!
How much for dinner ?
The price varies depending upon the number of courses, but I think it was a little north of $200 USD per person. Not the kind of thing we would do normally, but good for a once in a lifetime experience. The lunch prices are more affordable, relatively speaking.
@@theventuretravelist9048 This course seemed really valuable and worthwhile for all 22 dishes you two had! I've been to fake sushi places in Vegas..... I don't think I would ever spend hundreds there!
Kuma40
It was definitely an experience we won’t soon forget.
It looks like a great culinary experience but eating off the counter takes getting used to.
It’s not much different than many Sushi restaurants by me where you can also sit at the counter right in front of the sushi chefs. However, at Kyubey you have your own personal chef.
Did they eat the shell? lol
We ate the whole thing. Shell and all.
Did I see the chef cough on his hand and then keep touching the food?!!!! 😱
Hahaha. I can see why you’d think that, but he actually coughed into the crook of his elbow.
3:46 sneezes in his hand and keeps making sushi!!
Sneezed into his elbox 100%
só che in giappone quando si tossisce non si dice salute ma prova a non lavarti le mani dopo, in italia se continui a lavorare senza lavarti la mano di sicuro il cliente non lo vedi più
At 3:46 the guy preparing the shrimp turns away and coughs into his left hand, then continues preparing the shrimp with his hands. I would not eat that.
You sick busted cough in your hand then wrap the food in the same hand. Drop d--d.
