- Our video is a little longer than normal but this special piece is worth taking a look. High quality work by the Gassan school with Ayasugi style hada and very high quality Edo period koshirae. Both awarded Tokubetsu papers by the NBTHK sword society of Japan.

An amazing hamon and hada.... a true masterpiece
i own a Gassan Sadaharu Katana 1850 s papered Nthk not by the N " B " thk . Blade 28 " from Habachi with the Aysugi Hada with Sugaha hamon .and carving of Dragon on one side and chop sticks on other with a Mei symbole , superbly done to a very fine art . Tang surigi ( shortened } with two peg holes , very dark coloured tang .The Koshari , tsube a chinese garden inlaid in gold , silver habachi , saya with a line of Mons . Please excuse my bad spelling and non japanese terms of discriptions ! thank you for your video. very enjoyable !.

thats a beautiful ko gassan blade. wish i could see that in person. big fan of gassan school, have a tanto by sadakazu but sadly never had a chance to see ko gassan blade with ayasugi hada in person.

The most beautiful blades I have seen come from Gassan! Sadatoshi made one with a double bo-hi and it has a horimono and if I could own any sword that would be it. It’s not antique but I love it. And that is a fine example of the Gassan school sir!
