Yes indeed. This one already sold but if you visit nihontoart.com you can view our current inventory
@@nihontoart6855 oh man thank you!!
Wow that's who made my one sword sweet
Yeah how much
This sword doesnt need paperwork to back it up! What a beauty!
Im guessing between 15 - 30k am I right?
Very nice one Nick
YES, more BIG swords! I love swords over 2 shaku 7 sun (二尺七寸)
Was it actually used for execution?
Sure why not
2 shaku 7 sun! perfect length!
Im surpised they didnt try to make masa look like something else. Change the mei.
Love the video and all the info, but the image quality is really bad. Is it just me? Something so beautiful deserves better.
Give it time. CZcams takes a few hours to optimize the video.
@@nihontoart6855 Additionally youtube will sometimes de-rez a video if it detects your adblocker. Very irritating but reloading the page a few times can sometimes solve it. BTW, I was thinking of writing to ask you to keep the prices up of sold items, perhaps crossed out to avoid confusion? It would help beginning collectors such as myself get an idea of pricing. I very much appreciate you keeping sold items on the page as they are extremely beautiful. Lastly.... when you hold this tanto, do you hear a voice requesting that you feed it blood from a Tokugawa? 😈😈😈
Sorry 1976?
exquisite piece.
wow... amazing piece!
They cut the tang for modern military use i am guessing
Not bad but don't forget to oil the tang after handling it those hand oils like to cause rust
Wow, beautiful, would love to see the jihada & hamon closer! How much is this sword valued at approximately? Just curious.
The taper is quite interesting and--since I presume it is intentional--sophisticated. What can you say about that aspect of historical Japanese sword design?
Man oh man... That is to die for. 😮
Wow!
This is so beautiful :)
Another beauty Nick - my Kanemitsu if you recall was from Mino - 1300's but the mounts are beautiful and I am pretty sure I have a set by Toshimasa as well that are gorgeous Omori Waves .. Can you post the on your section on the NHB ?
nice tsuba. i love collecting them.
Is this for sale?
It has sold already.
@@nihontoart6855 It's a very cool sword, I respect the sword maker for trying something a bit different. Maybe the sword maker was inspired by European sabers?
absolutely stunning with such great characteristics
Beautiful swords as always Nick
Hi Nick, appreciate the new video format - we missed out on quite a bit of detail with the vertical videos.
I have 2 questions, 1- would the test cutting have been done after or before the re-fitting. 2- there is no way that could have been taken down from a nagamaki? The profile looks very reminiscent of one to me.
Almost brings a tear to a fellow sword smith/practitioners eye lol!! This is just my opinion, nothing more, I think it would have had a nicer look (for me) with like every other mon taken out on the saya but left in the same position 👍 . Such a beautiful piece!! Thank you for showing this!
Beautiful piece, the tsukamaki-shi did an amazing job especially with such large menuki and still making the Ito blend with the shape of the shitaji 👏
thats a beautiful ko gassan blade. wish i could see that in person. big fan of gassan school, have a tanto by sadakazu but sadly never had a chance to see ko gassan blade with ayasugi hada in person.
Beautiful piece of Japanese art and culture
So the Japanese had the equivlant of BBQ guns as well.
Very beautiful Blade
An amazing hamon and hada.... a true masterpiece
What is the price of a sword like this.
Good question. My prediction is around 19k to 25k. It's test cutted and it's koto, meaning it's pre shinto. Also bizen. Anything below 10k and it's a heck of a price. So it's a sword likely used in the sengoku period and has been tested afterwards. So yep expensive. But I could be wrong
That tiger has a mighty long tail...
