- The BEST Budget Hook Vest For Filmmakers (DIGITALFOTO Hook Vest Review)
This Digital Foto Hook Vest is hands down the best budget easy rig on the market. The quality and comfort of this cheap easy rig are outstanding and blew me away after seeing so many bad reviews about cheap knockoffs.
It is better (in my opinion) than the official one, which I've also used as well.

I feel you bro! I’m a handheld guy myself and just turned 35, it’s time we save our backs if we want to be doing this for years to come! I’m on an easyrig but this looks solid!
Gotta think of doing this long term for sure! I can't work without it now! Very impressed by this unit hey
I am testing one out with my rig and have used your tip to use the Kong Express Frog clip and have two questions: 1. What type of plate are you putting in between the Hook Vest clip and Kong? 2. My immediate impression was being annoyed by the clip hanging in front of my monitor. Upon re-watching your video, multiple times, I noticed your hook is in between your line of sight and the monitor as well. Is there a reason why you prefer it that way?
Love your videos and thank you for providing useful content!
Thanks for this just purchased the same unit from Amazon Australia after your review, going to use it with my Blackmagic 4k with cage and Ninja V and Small rig ring. Using Meike Lenses full set except the 65mm, also Zhiyun Crane 2s and 3s this will help my back so much, again thanks.
Hope you enjoy it!
Really like this dude, thank you for your help!
Happy to help!
Amazing review, mate. Looks like a wonderful solution for prolonged shooting sessions like weddings and events without doing a lowerback workout while at it.😅
Right! So much better
Thank you for the great video. What did you use to clamp the quick release to the camera handle? Looks like a circle screw or whatever its called. Do you have any advice for what to use for that piece? I have a smallrig top handle for my a7s3 cage
Great video mate!
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome run down Andrew!
Thanks dude!
Hi, which hook is used here, attached to the cage? Thanks for the video👍
Always love 😘🔥
Glad you like it!
is this digitalfoto rig better than the sweefish easyrig and if so how is this rig wirh zhyun crane 3s. Thank you
Thanks for the video mate. Would you appear to know where I could get a cable system for my Ready Rig? I've seen once someone using it with only one arm for handheld type shots? Or I guess I could just get the Kong Express frog and any strong cable from bunnings.
The Kong Express frogs would work, it just depends on how you would go about connecting it to the ready rig i guess. I'm not exactly sure how the original connectors attach the a ready rig so can't offer to much advice for this sorry.
@@AndrewMurphyFilms no worries, ordered a kong express and will go from there. I'm sure I can find some kind of length adjustable cable to hook in between. Basically only needs a loop on each side
Hello, what is the top handle you use?
Just received mine, as well as the kong express. Keen to use it on shoots. With the eye hook on the top handle, where did you get that from? I’m from Australia btw. Cheers
A local hardware store. It was actually the hardest part to get because most doing do a 3/8" thread that can fit camera accessories.
at 1:03 it looks like it's bumping the back of your head with each step, how do you prevent this?
Right on! How does it fair against the Proaim Flycam? I just got one of those and haven’t used it yet 😅
I haven't used the Proaim Flycam sorry so can't compare
HI Andrew, I have a C70. I'm looking for a solution like this. Have you used the C70 with this set up? Thanks mate
Yep my main rig is a Canon C70 in this video :)
Do you ever have an issue with squeaking sound from that gorilla clamp against the holder ring when filming and moving it around? I do. Any tips on how to solve it?
I usually don't. Maybe try put some rubber around the ring to quiten it down
Cool video! Subbed :)
Thanks for the sub!
Hey, what's the name of the handle you screw into the camera handle?
The eye bolt?
Does it work also if the camera Rig is for example between 5 - 7 kg heavy?
No it doesn’t
Hi. can i use that with camera rig what weight 5-6kg?
Yes, just don’t tension it as much
Good day, where did you purchase the eyebolt?
Just from my local hard ware store :)
@@AndrewMurphyFilms Oh, any generic 3/8 eyehook would do?
hhahhaha Thanks alot''' always about cutting that cost// # if it does then Job then what? .../ thanks for sharing this Tech aspect...
Glad to help
What would happen if you used a rig less than 8kg?
It still works fine with this. You just won't need to tension it much
cant find this anywhere. I guess they stopped making it?
Here is it digitalfoto.store/products/digitalfoto-er818-137
I’ve notice a bob while walking anyway to minimize that?
The way to minimize that would be the serene arm
🤙🏼🤙🏼
Is it still a good option?
I use it yeah it’s good for me, I just need the hooks he used 🤣 a quick release system / additional padding would go a long way
