  • In Part eleven of my 15-part on-armature bust tutorial series, I sculpt the individual features together, filling in and articulating the more subtle transitional structures, then proceed with a series of definition and refinement passes. I then pose the bust and establish the direction and focal length of the gaze, explaining various methods of articulating the iris and pupil, as well as some of the ways you can manipulate light and shadow to imply details that can’t be directly captured in clay.

These are just brilliant! Beautifully crafted and professionally produced. No waffle or repetition but carefully curated and articulated commentary providing maximum information and wisdom for viewers as concisely as possible. Every episode contains many pearls of wisdom. A fabulous contribution to those interested in learning how to sculpt in clay.
As a pedant, I note the misspelling of 'Armateur' in the title page for part 11 - but perhaps that is just a quirk to bait the careful viewer!
Thank you for the enormous effort that has gone into this series.
