TAS by Tompa and Quo. Also joined in for commentary was ToadsWoot. Version without commentary: • The Legend of Zelda: T... TAS submission with info: tasvideos.org/5225S.html Was streamed on / tompa
This was my first Zelda game. I still remember getting it. My dad got me a Gameboy advance sp and he took me to the store the next day and this was the game I picked out, knowing nothing about Zelda at the time. This game holds a special place in my heart.
I may be long gone from TASVideos, but not from my CZcams subscriptions, and when I saw this video link in the description of the TASVideos submission, my heart stopped bro... Tompa + new guy, congrats guys I've been waiting a long while for an obsoleted run, proud of yous 💪
25:29 you see 2 pots on the left site smash them and every time you step out of the room and come back there will be another red ruby in the pot infinite resporn
Just a question:whats a tool assisted speedrun?is it where you mod the game to help, but the speedrun isn't official,or is it where you use glitches or tricks to trim time?
A TAS is a recording done with an emulator, where you use certain tools to simulate perfect human gameplay. These includes recording your inputs frame by frame, 60 frames/second for this game, and use save states to undo mistakes. The game you use is never modified and everything behaves the same exact way it would do on console. The goal of a TAS is basically to see how fast a game can be beaten in theory when everything is perfected. That's a brief explanation on it at least. I can do into more details if interested. You'll also find a lot of info at tasvideos.org/ where most TASes are hosted.
@@AllPaat well, the last one took us two years to finish, so don't expect it any time soon, especially since I have been very busy with other stuff lately. I finished the first dungeon yesterday.
While the EU version got a lot of exclusive glitches to it, most of them are not useful at all, plus that the Japanese language saves lots of time in comparision.
the fact that TAS can't save 30 minutes over RTA real runs says a lot about how stable this game truly is when it comes to being able to skip midgame. looks like there's no water skip, no flipper skip no books skip no main dungeon skips, we can skip graveyard but that area is not even a main area.
@@TompaA oh yeah makes sense. this TAS was great for it's time and is still nice to watch. i figured it was older before i comment but i didn't really check before it.

Mine as well! :)
Anyone else play this game as a kid and just have no clue what was going on? I was just constantly totally bewildered... love this game
I was so clue less I was unable to beat it I just kept playing and playing
I've gotten to the wind Palace. Over the years. As I started to grasp the concepts. Of games in general.

This is the best Zelda game
Stephen Albright a link to the past and ocarina of time are also dope :3
Obviously after ocarina of time and majoras mask
1:08:23
Run invalidated, wasn't given enough warning for the awe-inducing spin attack.
All jokes aside, I love this run! Way to go, guys!
Recently found your channel, good stuff
Well done! Thanks for the insight.
Wow, nice 13 second speed run!
But legit good job here
At 24:26 there is a weird graphical glitch on the lower right.
Secret GDQ TAS thing?! HYPE!
They have TAS things every year.
Yeah! That's the best part! And it's even SECRET! What could it be this time?!
this speedrun, it's pretty great.
so much nostalgia ahh!
this is my favorite 2d zelda. truly a beautiful game with unique mechanics
Major improvements are the BK in the Fortress of Wind and the switch to Japanese version which saves several minutes
Dude it took me longer to get two elements. And I'm not joking.
This is one of my favorite Zelda games but goddamn the kinstones give me nightmares
awesome
Was I NOT SUBSCRIBED to this?! Well I am now!!
The secret game is Klonoa.
Oh shit this was before the OG in PoW
shook

Tompa A thanks for your reply tompa!it really helps.now I know :D
40:20 yeah, but how many entries are "dead", it is the same shit as aps, most for the "actions" are obsolete
We need a new tas ;-;
I'm sorry its taking me so long... Lots of redoing, lots of RNG problems and biggest of all: lack of motivation.
New TAS just got the bow.
Consider doing another TAS with the new strats?
I'm working on the TAS at this very moment =).
(Well, at that very moment I was writing that sentence technically...)
@@TompaA Sounds great!
When will we get to see this masterpiece? ^^
@@AllPaat well, the last one took us two years to finish, so don't expect it any time soon, especially since I have been very busy with other stuff lately.
I finished the first dungeon yesterday.
@@TompaA That's sad :'c
Guess I'll start speedrun it myself and see how far I've come when your TAS is out. *excited*
@@AllPaat If you are interesting in speedrunning it, feel free to join our Discord server: discordapp.com/invite/vtRnrKu =)
1:05:00 this looks fun
This is the fastest right?
I am working on a new version that will be several minutes faster. It will just take up to two years to finish or so
@@TompaA are you actually? how in the world are you going to save several _minutes_ over _this_
@@komet5420 Because I'm able to skip obtaining the Flippers and Bracelets; the whole book quest, thanks to some new skips.
Also ½ of Palace of Winds.
@@TompaA sounds awesome! can't wait to see the result in 2 years ;)

What's so bad about the European version?
While the EU version got a lot of exclusive glitches to it, most of them are not useful at all, plus that the Japanese language saves lots of time in comparision.
Straight up just used y'alls names to name creatures in No Mans Sky. Hope u dont mind, dont care if u do..
Nice blog

This is a really old TAS, lots of new slips have been found, RTA record is therefore a lot faster now.
New TAS is being worked on.
