- Some great passes we had back in the day. F15E Strike Eagles out of RAF Lakenheath giving their all, Tornado GR4s from RAF Marham, Typhoon Eurofighters out of coningsby and a three ship of mirage 2000’s on their return to France from the Royal International Air Tattoo, fairford when it was permitted. Thanks again to Iwan Davies for his contribution here.

waouh fantastic mirage 2000 .... 🤩😍
Loved to see the Mirages flown with such panache.
right word, panache!
NAN! M2000 is the GOAT
Whoa, those Mirages were shaving the weeds nicely for visitors. Really great to see the French Air Force dropping by. Fantastic filming, always a pleasure to watch.
Thanks Alan.
@@DafyddPhillips What's your favorite plane that you've filmed? If you could fly in anyone of them, what would be your first choice?
@@Steve_Hayden I once captured a NASA 15D flying through Star Wars canyon. The history of that aircraft would make a great movie in itself.
F15s for me are the most photogenic plane ever built. In 2022 it upstages everything in our time. Imagine it back in the early 1970s !!
@@DafyddPhillips Yes sir, that's one of my absolute favorites. And the fact it's never been beaten in a air to air fight (105-0) says a lot.
In New to your channel. Is it called both the Star Wars canyon AND the Mach loop ?
@@DafyddPhillips wait a minute. Are you talking about the F-15D with the canards behind the cockpit?
I'm going through your viddies. I see a lot of F-15s in them. Do you know which viddie has that picture?
Love those Mirages!!
How wonderful to see the Mirages. I miss the days when I could be close to the airbase runway watching the RAAF Mirages taking off, landing and touch and goes.
I did that a lot as a kid in Townsville :)
You mean RAF right? Not RAAF or is that something different
@@Phloggah Yes it is something different.
Royal Australian Air Force.
@@robguyatt9602 Ah gotcha. I just didn’t want to mistakenly try to correct you
The M2000D's just overshadowed the rest of the vid!
2:41 Mirage 2000D (all-weather air-to-ground assault version)
The yellow circle around the French roundels is a tribute to the British who had this circle around their roundel during the Second World War. This yellow border made its appearance on the french planes in 1942 (Free French fighter aircrafts in North Africa), and was finally adopted in 1945.
Thank you for explaining the "yellow" since it is so important to understand history. Just a pity that De Gaulle was so anti-British. However the shots of the Mirages were great.
@@trevorhart545 De Gaulle was not anti-british, he worked for France and his empire like Churchill worked for Great Britain and his empire (Chrurchill was made "Compagnon de la Liberation" by de Gaulle). De Gaulle was in in open conflict whith USA.
Where did you see a yellow roundel?!
@@JoeJohn777 It rather thin. But choose the 4k resolution, and you'll see it better. At 3:09 for example.
Its about time that Nations in Europe will create a new powerfull defense on Sea, Air and Land and standarize their equipment. That means for example the Dutch navy buys frigates type 26 or 31, and the brits order radar systems for their navy at Thales Netherlands. Germany orders army vehicles in France and the French buy German artillery and so on...The warfactories can stay in their own country then...everybody happy....just an idea😉
Give it to the French to give some fun to the crowd. These pilots know how to have fun in their Mirages and pay it forward to the crowd. Mind blowing pass, NGL.
It's all fun and games until you end up as a greasy stain on a mountain in Wales...
@@armorer94Don't be such a downer..
The mighty Tornado, gone but never forgotten.
Another fine video thanks.
Still the king of low level, especially in RAF hands.
@@Pincer88 until a Buccaneer flys underneath it..
@@bearcatracing007 Agreed, Buccaneers have achieved pretty impressive exploits at low level and if I remember correctly without terrain following radar. So all the more admirable on the part of the pilots and navigators.
But still... Having seen Tornados dropping ordnance at the exact moment at the intended target with pinpoint precision (long before guided weapons and targeting pods were prominent) back in the 1980ies has made a long lasting impression. So forgive my slight bias towards the Tornado. :D
belles images, avec en plus des Mirage qui se font plaisir!!!!! merci
Merci 😎👍
carrément ils en ont mis une couche! 😉
Very, very rare to see those beauty Mirage 2000 in mach loop. Since they are at the end of their lives. Enjoy....
Absolutely STUNNING imagery. Catching the Mirage is something to behold. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks craig. Appreciate you watching 👍
F-15 eagle is my favorite fighter jet, great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching. Yes f15 is a great jet
Those Mirage 2k in 3:08 were amazing.
So long since I last saw from you here at the Mach loop and it felt so good!!!.
There were g' s flying all over the place!.
So good!.
Yeah they're definitely looking at photographers, probably with a big grin on their faces, I'm sure they were absolutely thrilled to be running the mach loop!
these are Mirage 2000 D (diversified : mostly longe range mission) they are slowly getting rid of the mirage 2000 C (air defense) being replaced by Rafale : )
Dafydd, once again incredible footage of some great aircraft, the F-15’s from Lakenheath being my fav! You seem to always have the perfect shots of these planes. Thank you, sir, for sharing with us military aviation buffs not able to see in person the action from the MACH LOOP in beautiful Wales!!!👍
Also, THANKFUL for these aircrews and their skills🙏. A shout out to the ground support staff that keep the jets ready!!!
Yet another gem! Looks like the Mirage crews made it special for you all out there. Still a magnificent machine to behold.
Absolutely they did it on purpose!
120 degrees of bank definitely looks impressive by the French pilots!
@@neilfoster814 I'd so much love we'd gift these Mirage planes to the Ukrainian Air Force. (Love the flag you display - Slava Ukrayini!)
Brings a smile to my face EVERY time. Thank you.
Thank you.
lovely to catch the Mirage 2000 s -the height of gorgeousness !!
most beautiful plane in the world, grace elegant with something fearful and lethal
@@zcomme Yeeeeeeeaaaaah !
Hi Dafydd, absolutely fantastic footage mate as always!!.... love seeing those Mirage fighter's in the loop!!!..love that paint job on the one Mirage!.... your photos are spot on 👌as always!!!... superb work mate!....👍📹 cheers Paul 🍻
Thanks Paul, appreciate your kind words. 😎👍
3:10 Absolutely stunning camera work man. The Mirage 2000 is one of my favourite jets now.
The Mirages demonstrate that in many ways the French made better use of the Fairey Delta project than our own government - having said that there are good reasons to believe the Anglo-French Concord project derived the snoop nose of Fairey Delta 2 to help improve visibility esp when landing. I don't know if the Fairey Delta performance data was used in design of the Concords delta wings but both ironically it is most liekly the French that had the most valuable data on this due to an agreement with Fairey and Dassault to share ttewsting data after our British government pretty much banned supersonic testing over British soil. It is nonetheless seeing the excellent use of the F. Delta testing data put to such good use as the French Mirage project benefited substantially from the collab. and it shows 😁
You sir are the absolute best and the true master of your art! Just wow!
Thank you. 😎
Awesome! Nice to see a couple of oldies but goodies in there with the Mirages and Tornadoes.
Wow that was awesome footage! I could watch these all day. Love the F-15 since my childhood 👍
Absolutely brilliant yet again you've really done a fantastic job capturing these magnificent aircraft and the amazing flying skills of these pilots they are brilliant and so are you for the brilliant shots you capture you are fantastic. Thank you
Thanks Michelle. Appreciate your kind words 😎
There was a Mirage that did the Cosford show around the millennium, the display was amazing. That show was a so special, possibly an anniversary one with Cosford not shining so bright since. I think there was a Raffale and either Viggen or Grippen making about 6 fast jet displays that day and the embarrassment of the RAF casually cruising by in Tornado at differing wing setbacks like a Cadillac at a Hot Rod meet.
Oh dear god these shots are amazing! How good would it be to see them in real time? I’d have goosebumps for days!
The Mirage 2000 is really a beauty 😍
he is THE beauty!
what a stunning aircraft the mirage 2000 is
One of my favs!
Spectacular 💪🏾 amazing experience through your lens
Another fine video of some awesome jets!!! Thank you Davyd!
Thanks Joseph 😎👍
Nice to end my day seeing such a great mix of the finest jets. Ever time I see the F-15 flying in your videos I study the airframe from different quarters. That wing design is such a pure design I can see it in the wind tunnel being tested. I also love the French Dart as we call them due to its resemblance to the USAF of yesteryear. You have one of the best jobs Dayfdd, thanks for going to work! 😎
Thanks Scot, appreciate your kind words.
wahoo! Loved the F-15s. Fierce, loud and low flying mach loops! Brilliant!
Happy you enjoyed it, thanks for watching 😎
That was awesome 👌 great footage, thankyou, what a great selection of aircraft!
Thanks Stephen.
Oh those mirages are beautiful!
Wonderful seeing those Tonkas once again! Brilliant, thanks Dafydd. 😊
Thanks for watching Steve.
As always, spectacular footage. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for viewing
It always amazes me the skill of these camera men. Astonishing work!
Dafydd; excellent footage as always. What a surprise to see the Mirages there and always like to see a few Typhoons occasionally; a really unique air frame. All the best!! Keep up the good work!!!
Thank you. Thanks for watching.
Wow 3:12 , I have no words to describe what I just saw. That is just amazing. I wonder how you feel witnessing all this? Wow!
Eurofighter typhoon through Mach Loop
It's good to see them practice evasion and ground attack
Is it worth getting the chair lift up axalp?
😁tož strécu Filipe, no neskutečnaaa podívaná THX Man 😁
That typhoon is such a beautiful and fierce looking plane
Agreed 👍
Yes it is. I think if you just stare at it too long, it will kill you.
The Rafale is nicer looking, the EF is the ugly sister
@@RayzeR_RayE I always thought the Rafale was a great looking aircraft . The way they smoothed that front section with the inlets is really organic(?) .... the shape flows beautifully .
People might think that, with the sheer number of F-15 aircraft that have been through the Mach Loop, we would see them as the "Ford Mondeo" of the Loop but, for me personally..... and I'm sure every other Avgeek..... seeing an F-15 twist and turn through the Loop is as exciting now as it was when I first saw the Eagle go through, its never lost its appeal.
Thanks for the upload mate, phenomenal work as always!!
Thanks for watching, appreciate you being here ✈️👍
Several types of devices is candy. Very nice views Dafydd a bit more difficult with the pissed off French Lol! They always put on a good show. Good job!
Fantastic video! Thank you for posting.
Thanks for watching.
Damn the Eagle is a loud plane. Coming in, going past, and going out it is quite a bit louder than the other planes. 1:48 3:56 Eagle vs 2:24 Euro vs 2:47 Mirage vs 4:50 Tonk. F-15 is a loud boi.
Great video, love seeing some of those other planes hitting the loop.
Going to miss those Strike Eagles. Great footage as always Dafydd.
Thanks jan. ✈️👍
BEAUTIFUL Da. 🌹 What A Day. This SPRING.. Hope Your Well Family To. Patty

FANTASTIC!
Oh, how I miss flying. Great video. Wonderful jets.
Aww, bless his heart! That one mirage pilot is still learning right from left! In the still picture.
3:00 Wow a Delta wing aircraft. Looks a lot like the French Mirage used by Israel 😮
These ones are french. 👍
And Israel stopped using the delta winged Mirage after the Mirage III and 5, of which IAI developed the Nesher and the Kfir. 😊
