According to his interview on I AM ATHLETE, he said he wasn’t posting his child for a while. But he got tired of hiding his child and it didn’t seem fair, which I can understand from a parents’ perspective. On the other hand, there can be a thin line between not hiding your child in fear of public opinion and exploitation.

Everybody know Dwayne stole those kids and used his star power to do so. That woman has been trying get her kids back for what feels like a decade, or at least 6 years. He had her LOCKED UP at one point for returning them late. He has been so malicious and unnecessarily cruel to Savon. I live in Chicago and I remember when he got custody of his kids. It was also public and he was so dirty to her. In court they asked him the name of his kids teacher, doctor. He said he doesn’t know. She name them. Then they mentioned how he also always had nanny during his days of custody days. She went public and protest how he is manipulated the custody battle. He won full custody. 😢
And who or who was the nanny? It was reported or rumored that it was a white man. So you rather have a white man over your black sons rather than the actual mom? And no one till this day speaks on what the white man's sexual preference is.

As a parent, I feel that is too big of a decision for a child to make at this time. I would say give it some time and we can revisit this situation. We have never known how the bio mom feels but we don’t really know the dynamics of that family. I completely agree with Claudia and Al.

I never understood why they made this public so quickly and so soon. This isn't dwanes story and I don't like or think that any parent should benefit from their kids sexuality or gender identity. Why was it so hard for him to wait until she is 18 and old enough to tell her own story! What happens if she turns 20 and it turns out this isn't who she is? It would be too hard for her to do anything about it or "detransition" because her parents already included the public and made themselves "spokespeople". This should have been a private matter until the kid is of legal age. I personally don't think Gabrielle would have agreed to make this so public so soon if it was her own kid, I also don't think she would allow another woman be involved in this.

I wish ppl knew the real story of Siohvaughn and Dwayne. I used to work at a popular restaurant bar where athletes would be in Chicago and often we’d get invites/ access to exclusive parties…when I tell you he cheated on her left, right, and center. As a youth her mother took him in and took care of him. We wouldn’t know who D.Wade is without his ex wife’s mother going the extra mile.
I remember that seeing that history of him & his ex. Her mother took him in because of the domestic violence at his house. The exes mom treated D like that was her son. If the ex wife's mom didn't go ABOVE & BEYOND for his career, he wouldn't have his success that he did today, so for him to carry on & COMPLETELY shut the mom out for over 10yrs is BEYOND CRUEL!!!

I feel like the people need to ask Zaya what she feels about all of this. Maybe Zaya is the one wanted this public? Maybe Zaya doesn’t have a relationship with her birth mother? @allintime Because who has the money dictates court outcomes. We see this all the time. Who’s likely to walk in a criminal case? People who can afford a top attorney. It’s the same with child custody cases. Dwayne had the ability to pay for the best legal team in the country while his ex-wife was trying to represent herself in court. Why is anyone surprised he won custody? This was not about the mother’s fitness as a parent.

She is trying to protect “her” child. And as a mother myself she should be able to. Gabrielle has been parading this child around all over social media, like a circus act. She is comfortable and happy being she here now she could also change her mind later if she can keep the same. I’ve seen too many boys that wanted to become girls not being allowed to be comfortable in their skin until the 20 and 30. Those children had a very sad life and even sadder young adulthood in their 20s. It is not gonna kill us to let that person live how they wanna live as a teenager and let them decide if they wanna change your mind or not. No one‘s talking about actual gender reassignment. I even would stop there because that’s permanent. Deciding to identify as something else does not harm the child and least one bit. Child could be email for all I care if they I would go buy all black. The issue here is not fully including the other parent and one way or another whether is public perception or in real life.

Now it’s not our business, but when people were questioning why the child was wearing a purse it was our business. I feel like Dwayne has always responded to criticism online not just sharing to share. It’s already been out, they’re celebrities so there would be no way for us to not know about this.

I’ve been a step mother and I respected the decision of the biological mother even when we disagreed. It’s a tough position to be a step parent bcuz ur expected to love the child as if they r ur own but u really have very little say so on how they r raised.
