      Update they hatched 🐣 first on day 19 another day 20 and the last on day 21 all started pipping around the same time. Being patient and letting nature take its course is the best action 💯

      Amen! I am incubating babies right now and they are doing so well. I am currently using the nuture 360 egg thingy (forgot what it is called) and I only have 2 that seem kinda iffy but all are at different stages but not too far. No more than 5 days apart. I have this weird oblong egg which is rounded on both sides but still looks like a egg but like a pill at the same time. That one is the oldest one. It got in there on the 23rd of last month.

      I put my incubator at 100.5 F and humidity between 50-60 F and that works like a charm and I live in the deep woods in KY very close to TN!

    I’m enjoying your video. My eggs started to hatch yesterday. I mean I saw movement and heard chirping and it was out!! Super strong but was exhausted and slept all day practically. 5 hrs later (still wet), another egg hatched with all proper techniques to come into this world… but this morning both are still very wet??? What am I doing wrong? Humidity was 68, this morning 70. (3rd egg pecking now) ❤️
    I’m a bit concerned and confused about them still looking wet. My husband says it’s because of the humidity? But according to instructions on the manual of my incubator, and other websites the humidity is at the proper level… Any advice would be appreciated the sooner the better lol

    It looks like you removed the already hatched chicks from the incubator while waiting for others to hatch. I thought this was a big no-no, and the point of lockdown...so you don't lose heat and especially humidity. Did you open it while hatching? Is that detrimental? It appears you still had a very successful hatch...
    What kind of chicks are these? Did I miss you saying it? I'm guessing Barred Rocks?

    • @hatchingchicks1014
      @hatchingchicks1014  Před 3 lety +1

      Our incubator is very stable and so all the eggs hatched from day 20 to day 22. You can always pull an egg and candle it to look for any life after day 22 or 23.

  • @MR-RUBIX9119

    The water does it last the full 18 days or do you haft to keep refilling it?? And how come you candle lit them with a torch doesn't the Incubator have a built in one

    • @hatchingchicks1014
      @hatchingchicks1014  Před 2 lety +1

      You have to keep refilling it, a little everyday works. I just prefer a dark bathroom and my flashlight as opposed to trying to use the light on the incubator. It does work though, just the room usually isn't real dark. I started another batch yesterday, so more videos soon.

    Hey, where did you get the white flooring? I have the same incubator and was wondering. Seems like the hold is too big for baby chicks and they might hurt their legs

    • @melissalindley6587
      @melissalindley6587 Před rokem

      The flooring is shelf lining. It's a waffle weave pattern made of rubber or plastic. I use it too. It's non-slip, the chicks won't get their little toes caught in it, and it washes easily.

      @@hatchingchicks1014 from the 1st pipped does it usually takes 12 to 24 hours to completely scape the egg? The second question that I would like to know some info also, is how many days from hatching when you remove them from incubator?

  • @Floridafilipinofruitforest

    How long does it stay inside the incubator when they hatch????

    • @hatchingchicks1014
      @hatchingchicks1014  Před rokem

      It can stay up to a day, but we take ours out in groups. Our incubator doesn’t lose humidity to bad.

  • @uniqueaseellandodisha2127

    Can u please tell me the temperature and humidity you set for 21 days.please. as my eggs didnt hatched . Only 1 egg hatched from 18 eggs

    • @hatchingchicks1014
      @hatchingchicks1014  Před 2 lety +2

      Sorry to hear you only had 1 hatch. I don't think the humidity matters to much until the last three days. Just a little water the first 19. Then 65-75% humidity the last 3 days.

    • @stephaniekee3215
      @stephaniekee3215 Před 2 lety +1

      You can collect for up to two weeks before putting them in the incubator. A hen only lays one egg a day. They do the same before they start to actually lay on them. They collect until they have enough then start.

    • @hatchingchicks1014
      @hatchingchicks1014  Před 2 lety +1

      I had 30 eggs being taken care by two broody hens in the coop. Only 5 hatched and just 2 of those lived more than a couple of hours. A few minutes ago I ordered a Mann Pro Harris Farms Nature Right Incubator along with a Govee Hygrometer as insurance to be sure temp & humidity readings on the unit are accurate. I will never let wannabe-broody hens sit on eggs again.
