This series was X-23 first appearance fans instantly like her and so she became an official Marvel character in the comic universe
i was shocked when i discovered this
thanks for the heart
Is she good or evil
@@rikadojean-jacques3928 she’s neutral
@@EVERYWHERE_MAN what does that mean
3:30 the way she breaks her voice into innocent and confused it really breaks my heart
shush
It’s all right it’s okay.
That’s talent
You know if Wolverine was aware Laura existed, he'd have kicked down every door and ripped through any and everyone to get to her and be there for her. Wolverine knows better than anyone what it's like to be essentially ripped away from everything and used as a tool for death and destruction.
He'd never let Laura, who is his daughter by all acounts, suffer like that.
He only knows about her for 5 seconds and once he gets a hint she was forced to become like him:
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! INCOMING PAPA WOLVERINE! You mess with his cubs you are going to be sliced and diced.
Agreed, he would've gone far and beyond to save her because he's done the same for those X-Men kids.
Even when its a criminal who is being experimented on, he is VIOLENTLY against it. So this is something that reopens psychological scars knowing that it's an innocent child who is literally family. Wolvie already has a giant capacity for empathy... seeing someone (that could be him) suffering is hell for him even if he keeps the rage to not worry his friends. Stryker knows all that and INTENTIONALLY does this stuff. Wolverine’s struggle is being an empathic warrior protector being pursued by a sadistic slavemaster with a government-approved blank check every few years.
This is the key difference between Logan and Laura that makes them so different: Logan had his memories erased and he spent years putting his past together, one painful memory after the next. Laura remembered everything. Every moment, every second of torture, experimentation, and cruelty. It’s part of the reason that she connected so well with Logan. Their many similarities and their core differences.
So that's why huh...thanks for letting me know I fully understand now.
Weapon x brainwashed her to
@@pablomolinablanco1511 In the Evolution universe, the Weapon X Program works for HYDRA.
She's Mexican and he's Canadian, yeah makes sense!

To this day, I still can't believe the voice actress who voiced X-23 also voiced Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, and it's amazing.
it's called versatility

Nigga what
HUH!!!!!!
Crazy to think that X-23 began as a tv character in similar fashion to Harley Quinn and became an instant hit with the fans that they immediately wrote her into canon of the mainstream comics just 6 months after her debut in this show. Innocence Lost is probably one of the better origin stories they've told in a long time, effectively showcasing how you do an origin story for a tragic character.
If there was ever a reboot the X-Men universe, one of the first movies I would put into production is the Innocence Lost storyline.
There are a few of them out there that did not originate in the comics along with Harley Quinn and X-23. Others include: Barbara Gordan, Renee Montoya, Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Terry McGinnis, Phil Coulson, Firestarter, H.E.R.B.I.E., Nora Fries, Isis, Red X, Reptil, Morph, Ursa, Non, the Wonder Twins, Livewire, Kaldur'ahm, Bebop and Rocksteady, Condiment King, and Music Meister.
@@trueblue6201 I didn’t know Condiment King wasn’t a comic book first character he just seems silly enough to be that way
There's for that, it's called "canon immigrants" under tv tropes. Makes for good reading just pick a subject in pop culture x23 then add tv tropes and voila.
“I AM NOT A CHILD” Said Laura calmly.
That joke will never get old. Thank you, JK!
“I AM NOT A CHILD” Said Laura in a composed adult manner
Damian Wayne: Wanna Hang out in Gotham? Cassandra Cain: 😉👌
In the most high pitched child voice ever 😂
*Dumbledore enters the chat*
What makes this part more frigthening is that X-23 really could've killed everyone except Charles if she wanted to. She was a kid yes, but she was basically a child soldier trained like an adult in every martial art known to man against mostly-civilian teenagers.
just shows how big of a threat she could be if she was really their enemy
@@trivonnereid8877 imagine if the show was R rated like Logan. This scene would've been a blast!
Not at all. Logan was far stronger and more skilled than her. He held back through the entire fight because he resonated with Laura, the trauma and confusion she was going through, and wanted to help her. There was no way she could've actually hurt him if he was being serious.
She basically logan but as a women
@@juliojames4615 Sort of. Because she technically has one big advantage. She has a spike that comes out of the top of each foot. If you don't know her abilities and assume she's exactly like Wolverine, that would absolutely throw you off.
2:16 The way she makes you feel all the rage and pain she’s endured.
she’s back!!
I definitely enjoyed X-23's first appearance in X-men evolution, and her complicated relationship and connection with Wolverine.
4:02 that wasn't anger, that was fear for his daughter.
Not really his daughter but his clone
She's more his daughter than a clone.
@@EVERYWHERE_MAN well if you read the comics after they made her Canon, she's clearly his daughter now, and a clone at the same time, so yes she does count as a daughter.
Yeah, I can't find when exactly the made the transition but she was initially a clone using his DNA or something like that. Then at some point they decided to update her to being his biological daughter... which I guess would mean they used his DNA and inseminated someone? Or I guess it could still just be cloning business. At that point I guess it doesn't really matter since it's functionally the same thing.
@@demochris1786 I was mainly talking about this universe X-23
Man, I gotta say, this series was the coolest of them.
yeah
Yeaaa this and Wolverine and the X-Men
Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost who created the X-23 character for the show and then wrote her with a modified backstory into The Comics(Basically getting the Harley Quinn treatment)confirmed if the show had continued, she would have joined the new mutants under the name Laura Logan.(In the X-Men Evolution continuity, Logan is Wolverine`s actual surname instead of Howlett which is confirmed by both creator interviews and the comic adaptation of the series entitled X-Men Evolution Adventures ).
@@jonathansoflyfulwolverine and the X-Men was freaking amazing. I wish Netflix would have picked up that show a long time ago and continued it
Still heartbreaking to watch after all these years.
tell me about it i almost cried
And at the same time one of the series best sequences. This is also a great example of how vintage X-23's fighting style differed from Wolverine's. Each action is meticulously planned maybe 10 steps ahead. The bookshelf trick while gripping the ceiling. Slicing down the light fixture while holding onto what held it up. It's like when she first fought Deathstrike, economizing her movements to disable Yuriko's movement.
❤
@@kencoleman5007and now they have ruined it all by essentially making her a female Logan. Smh 😒
First debut of X-23 on X-men evolution.. Before the comcis, Old man logan film. Wolverine was clearly holding back. He didn't want to hurt her.
Yup, Wolverine is sorta like a father figure to her.
@@kylepowell9841I like that the comics gave her the mantle when Logan died from the adamantiun poisoning i love Dakon but even tho he's wolverines son he isn't his "son" his relationship with Laura was great to see on panel

Eh, only if he's bloodlusted and they were not. Otherwise there's a bunch of X-Men that Wolverine could never beat on their best day.

@@benaffblack
I mean, Deadpool had Cyclops killed by his own powers. Which should be literally impossible considering he's immune to his own optic blasts. So those elseworlds stories clearly have the ones that lose specifically weakened/nerfed so that they can in the first place.
It's x men evolution yall stop taking things so seriously. This was a KIDS cartoon so there is not supposed to be an adherence to more realistic adult themes.

X 23 should have her very own spin off television series
Duh!
Hell yeah!
The background music made this scene all the more epic and intense
X-23 is definitely a great character
Keep in mind, this is her starting point.
I think this kinda proves how strong Wolverine truly was in this show. He almost always held back. What a beast.
I had such a huge crush on X-23 when I was a kid hahaha
your not the only one.

@insanoibro6331 lol thats understandable 😂
I sure hope that in the Deadpool movie we get to see Dafne playing Laura again. She did a great job in Logan.

The daughter of Wolverine finally meets her father. : )
Fun fact: Wolverine was voiced by Canadian voice actor Scott McNeil aka Ocean Dub's Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z, he also voiced The Vulture in Spiderman Unlimited, Dr. Wiley from Mega Man TAS and Dinobot from Transformers Beast Wars 😀.
Don’t forget he voiced the Trex from extreme dinosaurs

Father & Daughter moment
When I first saw X-23, I was thinking it was Mystique
She is Logans daughter after all.
@Cisco Jacobo Yeah, but they both act in the same manner.
If it was Mystique she would have really disguised herself as Wolverine. Plus, have you ever seen Wolvie use two claws?

How is she voiced by Pinkie Pie here? Andrea Libman is amazing.
Huh, you learn something everyday
and how has nobody made an animation or edit with Pinkie Pie having X-23 claws
Wow...
Logan may be a cool and arrogant dude, but here...he wants to help Laura, her daughter.
I love this and the Logan.

Me: cries in Old Man Logan.
This wouldn’t be the first time a tv exclusive character becomes a comic book character. Harley Quinn was a tv show character before becoming a comic book character.
Harley isn't even the first. Other examples include Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, Livewire, Mercy Graves, Condiment King, Morph, Abraham Whistler, Spyker, Reptil, H.E.R.B.I.E., Firestarter, Apache Chief, Kaldur'ahm, Irish, Nora Fries, John Diggle, the Phantasm, Nora Fries, Renee Montoya, Terry McGinnis (Batman), Red X, Lionel Luther, Ursa, and Non to name a few.
Favorite character for me when I was young and still is. But I learned much later this was when she first appeared ever to later become a canon marvel character. I always thought the comic was the first introduction of her.
Basically a father and daughter moment, I didn't realize it until I learned more about the series later.
Like Father like Daughter the film Logan even showed us how similar they are same powers same rage different people but still you see a lot of Logan inside Laura all that torture she went through you can see it in her eyes all the pain. Comic treated Laura even worse damn I'd go bonkers if all that happened to me.
This was awesome!
Love this series I was mad we only got 4 seasons least should of gotten 6 and definitely should have part of the team one of my favorite episodes
Wolverine's Daughter
It's the fact that she single handed the whole academy without breaking a sweat
She's that damn good! lol , and in the comics when she fought logan she kept slicing him and rubbing dirt on his wounds so he can bleed out...she basically used the dirt to slow down his healing factor enough for him to slowly start beeding to death while beating him at the same time with physical attacks ....that scene in the mansion was her going very easy on them so yeah i get it. lol
@@matthewlee4697 I mean Logan was also going easy here, he didn’t really try to fight and the second he got serious he stopped her.
Also yeah Laura managed to win but I’m fairly certain Logan was holding back a degree as he sympathised with her and wanted to help, had he been really trying I feel he would’ve taken it( not easily but still).
If this series had a fifth season, Laura would become a member of the X-Men just as Professor X saw in the future.
X 23 is so cute a part of me wants to give her a great big hug 🥰🥰🥰
I love how while she took out everyone else, she had ZERO change at taking out Logan.
I just rewatched this episode, it was so badass. I can't believe this animation is +20 years old!
Similar to Harley Quinn this was her first debut before appearing into comics which explains how I found out about her in the show
I love how when Logan actually tries to do anythingX-23 can’t do anything, no wonder he could kill the entirety of the X-men in Logan
I thought that was Charles by accident
@@rafiqalim
No in Canonical order it was Wolverine.
Mysterio provided a powerful illusion that made all the X-men appear to Wolverine’s worst enemies. So Wolverine proceeded to kill everyone he perceived as enemies.
One of Marvels bloodiest comics. He killed everyone in the most animalistic ways possible.
After it was done the illusion was gone and all he saw was his dead friends. Truly sad stuff.
Glad they found a way to redcon that whole thing 😂
That'understandable considering that she is basically a child/baby compared to Logan. Funny enough in the comics version of their first meeting/fight, she almost killed him.
@@muaddib989 Yeah, but he said "in Logan", he's talking about the movie Logan from 2017 in which it was Charles who killed them by accident due to being too old and senile.

We don't get to see these moments like this anymore 😔.
I truly felt sympathy for the kid that felt victimized by the same people who tortured Logan.
Love this so much
While it's cool that X-23 made her first appearance in this show, she could have been used much better.
They didn't know she was going to be so popular. In fact, the reason she was in future episodes at all is because of her unexpected popularity. For some reason, fans really liked the idea of Wolverine having a daughter who embodies his painful past.
3:48 father and daughter
Here after Deadpool & Wolverine. Dafne Keen has ALWAYS been the perfect actress to play Laura!!!
Scott McNeil as Wolverine is one of the best choices to voice Wolverine 😁
Pretty cool!
This actually popularized x-23 aka Laura Kinney into the comics… key and historical moment in marvel history… fyi
In this continuity, it`s Laura Logan or Laura Howlett Reisman. Gabrielle Kinney and Kamakura were additions to Laura`s comic book story.
@@aspieanarchist5439Pretty sure she was just X-23 in the show. Her name of Laura was introduced in the comic.
