If I am correct, Sam's suit prevents him from being targeted. Since he can not be targeted, damage that needs to target will not damage him. Splash damage, however, has no need to have a target. Hence, anything with splash will damage Sam?

Hes got a soothing voice and hes having fun which is enough yo distract an ADHD brain long enough, and its mindless enough they slip into sleep because there isn't much needing attention.
I get it.
I recommend Serotonin Suppliments to boost your bodies ability to rest but unfortunately some folks are on SRIs and could get themselves sick trying them.
So I get it. but I still note if you wake up super sleepy and coffee has limited effect at waking you up, try 5-HTP and experiment wisely.

I think Tychus passive health regen + middle aura + maybe also having blood is enough to cancel out the Tempest ability.

True! Tempests are only 50dmg/s for 10s. Hp regen and blood is 12/s and Tychus passive. Def nullifies a lot.
