Islam teaches to be respectful of other holy books especially the Torah and the Ingil (Gospels) as they are also words of God passed to the prophets, just like and equal to the Quran. They are all on the same level - Torah was given by God to Moses, Ingil was given by God to Jesus Christ, and the Quran was recited by God to Muhammad. All three of these prophets including Jesus Christ are believed by Muslims to be prophet. Jesus is one of the most highly respected prophets in Islam, and he is mentioned numerous times in the Quran. In fact his mother, Maryam (Mary) has an entire chapter dedicated to her in the Quran explaining how she miraculously gave birth to Jesus as a virgin.
According to the Quran, Muslims are only permitted to marry Muslim women, but with the exception of also being permitted to marry Christian and Jewish women. And the reason is because Christians and Jews are seen as people of the book who are highly respected as they follow at least some of the true holy books of God; and thus, they ultimately believe in the same fundamental beliefs and values as Muslims (God, Prophets, etc.) Moreover it is known in Islam that the closest religion to Islam is Christianity, and it is for this reason as Judaism does not believe in let alone highly respect Jesus Christ as much as Islam. After Christianity, I dont think there is any other religion in the world that believes in Jesus Christ as prophet, and loves him other than Islam.
