These musicians do a good job with letting their expressions show on their faces. Dr Zander often says to musicians "You enjoy the music, right? Then tell your face" because many students are so serious. This group here lets it show on their faces.
And so many plebeians hate Lang Lang for that haha
I watch these videos over and over as I can't describe how motivated I am from them. I hope these are watched more and more now especially with worldwide lockdowns in these trying times, Dr Zander is thankfully not peddling any religious or supernatural concepts, it is all the essence of the human experience and getting very talented musicians to realize how they can communicate this to an audience. I'm sure even the most hardended person who says they don't like classical music after watching this would be shocked at how riveted they found themselves watching one of these classes. Dr Zander if you ever read these comments, please know you are my favorite living person in the whole world, I live in South Africa and will probably never get to meet you or see you live, but at least you have so generously given the world these awesome life changing videos!
These videos are definitely on my "essential" list! Love, Love it, Love it! Many heartfelt thanks!
YES! New Interpretation Class by Benjamin Zander! Thank you!
You absolutely transformed these kids.
Amazing teaching, very exciting and insightful lesson!
My favorite quartet - played the way it should be played. Written by the Mahdeva Beethoven.
Awesome - so emotional - so moving ........😊
What a joy!
The two violins, viola, and cello sound magnificent together! Oh such wonderful music Beethoven wrote, and how beautiful your students perform it! The string quartet combination of instrumental sounds interweaving is truly breath taking! Such disciplined sight reading is going on. Oh such emotional moods their playing conveys in their faces and of course in the music content. It takes you on a musical journey with its crescendos and decrescendos. Beethoven's music to me comes across as very dramatic! So very powerful! I like Ben's comment about Beethoven speaking to human beings with the intensity of his music. The historical content about Beethoven writing this during the time Napoleon was invading Vienna. I know he was stone deaf but I wonder during the battle if he could feel the vibrations from the bombs where he was living? I am sure he could probably see the activity The metronome setting at 92 really did make a big difference,, conveying the way Beethoven wanted it played.
I love to hear about the composers. Ben Zander, you are the best!
It makes sense by hearing it this way. Completely different story.

Their videos have a long time from being filmed and being released. They are super meticulous.
If you can play it slow you can play it fast.
.. Show the violists face 😂 they do this in every video and its so annoying.
