- So many things have changed since we immigrated to the Netherlands from South Africa. We had never visited the Netherlands before moving here, so everything was foreign to us in the beginning. We have obviously now adapted to most of it, but when I sit down and think about it, there really was a lot that we had to learn and discover.

Eek thank you for watching Jaydey!
Absolutely loved this video. Recently immigrated here with my hubby from SA so I could definitely resonate with a lot of this video! Keep them coming 😂
Welcome! I made my move about a year ago 😄
The time disappears when you're having fun! It's been 2.5 years for us already 😂 are you happy here?
@@michelle_kahn Yes definitely 👌
Best eng!
Leuke video trouwens. Top Kwaliteit.
I will go in English because I have slacked heavily in my Dutch lessons since middle of last year 😅 I didn't want to pry too much on the things that I feel negatively towards because it is still my home, but I just don't know how I could ever return there aftwr experiencing the freedom that I have found here. Within my running community I was constantly hearing about home invasion, attacks on the road (cellphone's and wedding rings), and so on. My husband has had three very sad experiences and a friend of mine ex boyfriend was shot dead over a laptop. That is a phonecall I will never forget. It's a beautiful country and if it was run well I think it would be one of the best in the world. The government just desperately needs to change, just like in Turkiye, for example. Thank you very much for your comment and for the compliment! Have a lovely day!
Ik heb sinds kort ook 2 zuid Afrikaanse "vluchtelingen" als collega's, gevlucht voor geweld, discriminatie. ( hé zijn niet altijd blank, shoot the boer more everybody)
NU NOG NEDERLANDS LEREN !!
It will be nice to see someone like Botha trace their family back to the Netherlands.
Did your Afrikaans help in the day-to-day?
I am not Afrikaans 😅 and I barely passed Afrikaans in school. But the little I have had helped a little bit with basic things. But if you are fluent in Afrikaans it'll help but you'll get very stuck with certain words. Getting out of the "ek" and to "ik" is one that sticks out 😂
If we only could change them africans for south africans in our small country
Not sure I follow?
