I love watching other minimalists continue to declutter because that's where I'm at. Just started the game for March and excited to see what the house feels like at the end!
Love it!
Great job! It is hard to play this game if you are already deep into your minimalism journey. But you did it! Yay!
It is! Thank you!!
I did the minimalist game in Jan (I do every year), then I did a full house declutter through April, but I’m now doing the minimalist game again and it’s so hard on this end as I already decluttered 1000+ items the start of this year.
I always do it backwards though starting at 31, as it’s so much easier on the first days to find so much! I love it
Also for the products, use them up but count them into the total anyway! You’ll get rid of them when you’re done anyway :)
Backwards!? Sounds like a fun way to go about it!
I really like your channel, you’ve become one of my favorite minimalist channels after watching just a few videos. Your thought processes have been the MOST helpful to me out of everyone on youtube. You have concrete examples rather than nebulous ideas or just nice thoughts. You are very sure of what you’re doing. Especially your video on how to make organization work - it’s all about removing resistance to putting things back in their place.
I’ve ignored 30-day minimalism game videos in the past but this one is what made it click for me. It works because you are forced to look for your LEAST favorite items and give them up, no mather how small. For tiny objects I usually think “it doesn’t really have an impact” or “eh, I’ll get it in the next big declutter.” This method totally removes any last creative excuse to keep the item.
For example I have the Nooni Marshmallow Whip Maker. It just makes your face cleanser foamy. I have used it maybe 3 times. It’s fun, but at the end of the day I’m just not willing to pull it out of the cabinet and whip my liquid cleanser up for a whole minute (and I prefer powder cleansers anyway). I’ve kept this thing for 1.5 years and figured “Why should I get rid of it? It’s not hurting me. Plus it’s super cute and I might use it again one day. It shows my great taste in cute things.” I became blind to this object and didn’t think twice bringing it with me when I moved. Yesterday, September 1, I finally decluttered it! I told myself it’s only $7, I can buy it again if I really want it. But chances are I will never remember to buy it again.
I’m following this game for September! Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and kind words, my heart is happy today. I am so happy my videos are helping you simplify your life and space. Congrats on starting day 1! I think the item you chose was a perfect choice. Im so excited for you to get to day 30!
When I have one tshirt, I am not driving 20 minutes to the Goodwill donation center. I am throwing it in the trash. Come find me and lecture me. LOL.
I started this 5 days ago and it’s so hard bc I’ve been a minimalist and zero waste for 8yrs. I am going through my car, garage, patio and basement to hopefully make it through. I have that same little doggo beating heart, the stuffed puppy is long gone but I can’t part with the heart yet lol ❤️✌🏼
Awww sometimes things like that are sentimental. I got rid of his first leash but kept his first collar. Good luck on the 30 days!
another way of doing this challenge is picking a random number each day and marking off that day within the 30, so maybe on day 1 you would do 27, day 19 you could do 3, so then you can leave the smaller amounts for days you are more busy
This is such a good idea and if I find myself playing this game again I will be doing this I think!
Love the honesty!
Thanks Beautiful!
Shoes should definitely be counted as pairs (2 shoes = 1 item), and pieces of paper should just be a a stack of papers = 1. A little OCD to count each individual scrap of paper. Digital/email is also stretching it. My pit mix wasn't introduced to a hair dryer, a vacuum, fireworks outside on the 4th - he plays with the hair dryer and vacuum and slept through fireworks. If you had kids, they would be helicopter parented and need therapy later from their germ free environment. Relax. The home looks sterile and lacks warmth. Not cozy. Add a plant.
Thanks for sharing 🌻
Thanks for watching!
You did a fabalous job with already having a minimalist life style. I have done this game 8 times. The last time was maybe 2 years ago. I could probably do it again soon, but i don't know if i could finish the game. There are still 2 areas with too much stuff - clothes and paper.
Two difficult areas for me. Clothes are difficult because they cost money and i would want some money back for some of them and paper because i love to write down stuff, plus i think that i would need some of those important papers.
Awww thanks so much! Clothing used to be so tough for me too, I hope you do try the game again and maybe end with paper/closet once building momentum!
I kept rewinding to see if I missed the emoji but great job as always! As a minimalist myself I find the last 5-10% in the house very hard to part with even though it often nags in the back of my mind.
I totally forgot the emoji lol! But thank you for watching till the end, and thank you for your kind words, I agree.. it does kinda nag does't it? Glad it's gone now!
Anytime, friend :)
Thank god for all the doggy stuff to declutter otherwise eeeeeek. I hope I can get to the stage of not finding anything to declutter
So true lol! Life comes in stages. If you are anything like me there will be points you are perfectly content, and points where the walls feel like they are closing in haha.
Haner?
Day 13??
Did I miss it?
The bowls had lead?!! How do you know?
I emailed the company. They said anything made before 79 had it
@@JenniferLynnLife so scary!! Thank you for replying!
I have been using a whole set of these dishes. I checked Snopes, and their information says they are safe because they're manufactured after 1971 (All dishes of that vintage Pyrex pattern were manufactured after the FDA's enforcement of leachable lead levels for cookware in 1971.)
Could you please forward your email to Snopes so they can update their information?
