    Sir, I agree 💯 with your approach. However, if the point load corresponds with a horizontal distance of 2m, then it is acting at 2.5m on the member/beam.
    Ay = 9kN; By = 6kN & Ax = 4.5kN

    Why did not we just use the similar triangle also in solving Ay?

    Hi dear...why cosine is used for x axis ( horizontal) and sine for y axis ( vertical).. Hope to clear this point as soon as possible!!!
