Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games czcams.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!
It could mean a lot of different things we have another video on this topic check it out czcams.com/video/vBEJfxWkDxs/video.html
I have a 17 week old Frenchie he came home at 9 weeks. I can happily say he's 90% potty trained! Good video đđ»
For the first time I see the most useful video on puppy pad training! Thanks so much
This is the way I recently potty trained my Chihuahua. I litter trained it, as opposed to letting it go outside, and it was by far the easiest and the best method I have ever used.
So what I did was purchase a 24 X 18 wire doggy crate and put a doggy bed, a doggy blanket, and some doggy toys inside it.
At the same time, I also purchased a 24 X 18 solid plastic container with high sides that I customized into my new doggy litter box by using a hack saw to cut out an opening on one side of the container large enough so a Chihuahua can enter and exit it easily. Then I added an inch layer of pine pellets to the floor as the litter material.
Next, with the Chihuahua puppy inside the doggy crate I butted the doggy crate opening to the doggy litter box opening. As the idea was that the Chihuahua puppy would sleep and play in the doggy crate but when it needed to eliminate, it would eliminate in the doggy litter box. Guess what, it worked like a charm.
So for the first three weeks, I kept this up only letting the Chihuahua puppy out to bond and play after I saw that it had very recently eliminated.
Then after three weeks, I slid the doggy litter box out about a foot and a half away from the doggy crate. Then I monitored my new puppy closely throughout the day to see if she was using the doggy litter box like she was supposed to, and she did flawlessly.
Then subsequently, I slid the doggy litter box on each successive day a little closer and closer to the final designated location for the doggy litter box I had previously picked out. When the litter box was in its final designated location, I then considered my new puppy fully potty trained.
In any event, this was not only by far the easiest time I ever had potty training a Chihuahua puppy, but it was the first time I ever trained a Chihuahua puppy without having any puppy mistakes.
Moreover, a litter box, as far as I'm concerned, is not only the easiest way to train your pet because your pet essentially trains itself, but overall it's the best solution as well. As I don't have to worry about maintaining a set schedule to let my puppy out. I don't have to worry about whether it is snowing or raining outside or if it is freezing or too hot. I also don't have to worry about leaving the puppy alone for an extended time period. I also don't have to worry about fleas, ticks, mosquitos, or my dog getting a disease another dog left behind. I also don't have to worry about other dogs attacking tiny Chihuahua since she always remains inside the home.
As far as the litter material goes, I highly recommend pine pellets because it virtually eliminates all odors and it is quite easy to work with. It's also far cheaper than other kinds of litter materials and does a far better job at eliminating odors. As you can buy a 40 pound bag of the stuff at Tractor Supply Company for $6.79 plus tax and you will use only about two to maybe three bags a year. Meanwhile, when a dog or cat urinates on the pellets, the pellets disintegrate into odorless saw dust.
To make cleaning my doggy litter box easy, I purchased a sifting cat litter box as a cleaning aid only. So what I do to clean the litter box since I always flush down the toilet any solids as soon as I see them, is empty the doggy litter box in the sifter of the cat litter box. Then I sift the sawdust in the sifter into the cat litter box below. When all that remains in the sifter is pine pellets, I then empty the sifter back into my doggy litter box and then add about a scoop to a scoop and a half of pine pellets to make up for what was used. Then I empty the sawdust in the cat litter box from below the sifter into the trash since it is odorless. Lastly, I wipe everything down and put everything up until the next time. As I clean my doggy litter box out about once a week.
Puppy pads are not only expensive, but they are also very disgusting.
Thankyou for this! We have a puppy and it was very helpful!!
A sigh of relief, this makes sense!!! Thank you so much!!
this is so smart iâll be trying this!
Nice I have a bulldog myself and she fully potty trained and I let out at all times when Iâm home with her only

I have a puppy pug 8 weeks old ,I will try this .Thanks
I just got a puppy and he doesnât have his shots yet . I havenât took him outside to pee yet but I did the same thing with the pads and itâs working!! He knows where to go and he cryâs when he needs to pee
Amazing congrats on your new puppy đ
You deserve more subscribers đđŸđ€đŸâđŸ God bless
Thank you đ
My frenchy is a blue pied and his name is ghost. Heâs 10 weeks old this week. Since day one of getting him I never had to put down pee pads. He has literally been the easiest puppy Iâve ever trained. Heâs fully potty trained he will not pee or poop in the house or his kennel. He goes up to the front door when he needs to go to the restroom. He likes to sleep in his kennel which I leave open. I also taught him how to sit lol he learned that one really fast. Heâs damn near perfect.
Our newest frenchie MoonPie has been like that too. She came almost completely house trained only a couple accidents.
Thank you so much that gave me a ideaâșïž
Youâre welcome đ
Great video! Your puppy is absolutely adorable and I love that he was so unbothered during the whole video. đ€Ł

Updates on your training?
@@rolando95pg I've been having a rough time potty training this guy. It's better now that our other dog finally warmed up to him so now we can take them both outside together a lot more often.
Wow!. My dog is totally identical to yours!

thank you I need to potty train my puppy! I will let you know how it goes :)
went well thank you so much!
Omg same i have a new puppy that i need to trane
I'm going to try this. If it works i will Sub/Share/Like . Thanks for the tips! (See u in a few days for the results)
Your method did work! Unfortunately for me my asthma/allergies got the best of me. On the 3rd day my pup did everything right but I couldn't keep him so I had to find him a new home đ„. I googled info about the possibility of having a certain dog so in the future I will try that. Thanks again!
Iâll be trying this with my new puppy today! Thank you!
No problem congrats on your new puppy đ
How is it working? My puppy is destroying them all the timeđđ
My puppies will destroy the wee wee pads all the time. Is there a solution?
Thanks I will be trying this on my new puppy !!! But my puppy is 3 months old Pomeranian he canât eat any dry food or treats đ what should I give him instead of a treat ?
If your dog canât have any treats at all maybe try rewarding with their favorite toy and praise them for doing a good job. Make sure to discuss with your vet about available options for treats that will agree with your pups diet. There are soft chew treats that might work and you might be able to reward with a piece of their actual food just rolled into a tiny treat size.
We have had our puppy for two days now and have been doing something simaler to this but he makes no effort to actually go towards the puppy pads and instead lays on it
Just keep trying and reward your pup when he does the right thing. I know itâs tough and most pups play with the pads and some even tear them up thinking they are toys. Just discourage that and provide an actual toy instead for them to play with.
I took over the care of my nieceâs Shi Zhu, that was pad trained at her home. However, once he got to my home (I know thereâs an adjustment period) he refused to use them. Iâve been taking him outside, but when weâre inside, he still pees, not on the pad. Heâs 1.5 years old. I have confined him to an area, pads on the floor, food water and toys. Any ideas on why he isnât using the pads, besides being in a new environment? What else can I do?
My pup keeps peeing on the edgeâs causing the pee to leak off and under the pad. Any way to train him to pee more in the center?? Maybe a certain scent I can spray the center of the pad with?? I tried using even bigger and Biggest pads. Doesnât matter. Still on the edges.
He is getting better at holding it though. Sometimes I come home to a dry pad and heâs anxious to go out and relieve himself. I feel a little bad heâs holding it so long. Thatâs why I got the pads.
I've tried to teach my 2 month old dog this but only sometimes he'll piss or crap on the pad. He will mostly do his business anywhere else. Its a struggle
I just got my puppy it's a staffordshire bull terrier he is 8 weeks old I have puppy pad but I can also go outside with him should I bring him out every hour or teach him he can do his business on the pad. He sleeps in my room but has a play area in the living room so I don't know If i'm making it harder on myself since the puppy has pads all over my room and down stairs
If you want to only teach outside potty training that is ok but yes I recommend that you take your puppy out on a regular basis. The every hour is great to start and that can be relaxed as the puppy gets older and more accustomed to going outside. For the pads this would be your safety net. Puppyâs usually will associate their eating and sleeping areas as areas that they will not do their business in. As long as you are in the room with the pup and not leaving them alone then coving the floor with pads in the bedroom is unnecessary. I would recommend just the play area or space you confine the pup when you are not home. This will help prevent unwanted accidents in that area. Hope this helps đ¶
What if you are constantly putting your pup on the pad knowing they'll have to go soon but they just end up sitting, laying and sometimes even napping on the pads. sometimes it works if he has to go bad. Sometimes it don't. I'll keep putting him on the pad sometimes for 30 minutes straight and then I start to think well maybe he doesn't have to go but the moment I allow him play time elsewhere from the pads he pees on the floor đ HELP!
Itâs ok if they sit play or nap on the pads I would recommend donât get discouraged by the time spent on the pads but once they do go on the pads you can reward and play with them in other areas.
This is the best video ever on potty training with pads!!! Thank you! đđđđđđđ
Thank you âșïž make sure to check out some of our other content and also subscribe because we have more fun stuff in the works
My boston terrier does not like to go potty if I am watching him. Must be shy, lol
My puppy we just got heâs 4 months old and heâs having trouble getting the puppy pads down, and instead is using the carpet.
I just got a 2 months old pom mix poodle, give her folded rug for her bed, I put the rug and puppy pad inside fence, my puppy likes to sleep above peed pad.. I live in tropical country, is it because the weather is too hot, so she choose to sleep on puppy pad over the rug? What can i do to stop her doing that? I dont want her to assume that the pad is her bed..
Yeah because you are in a tropical environment your pup is probably laying on puppy pads because they are cooler then the rug. Maybe try a cooling pad bed I know that my dogs love these because we are in Florida and our summers get pretty humid. Here is one from amazon amzn.to/30VQ68B but there are so many different sizes kinds so browse for one that you think would work with your pup.
What if my frenchie destroys all the pad đ
So the trick with that is to train you puppy that the pads are not toys. Whenever your pup grabs a pad to play with/ destroy trade it with his/her favorite toy. Implement the word release or drop it as soon as they let go of the pad. This will reward your pup with a favorite toy and teach them a command that you can take with them forever. If the toy does not work try with food or treats. You need to break your pups attention on the pad and bring it back to you and the favorite toy which is allowed to be played with. This will take some time and practice.
@@onthegofrenchies these are some great tips. I'm going to implement the release word when mine is chewing up my house. Only problem is I haven't found a treat that he likes. Any suggestions?
What if you live in a small apartment that is mostly carpeted? I donât have that space to put all those pads down.
I have seen people get a kiddie pool for children and the flexible fencing this is mainly used for new borns but it might work for you and you can line the kiddie pool with puppy pads.
Hey man. I liked this. Question. Iâm about to get a Frenchie. So following your two hour rule for bathroom, does that mean Iâm going to have to wake up every two hours at night to take him out?
Good question some things you can do to help get through the night is restrict water prior to bedtime and also make sure to wake right before bed. But no throughout the night we want the puppy to learn to sleep through the night.
Ok! Thatâs interesting. Some other trainers say I need to wake up every two hours and wake the dog up too. But you found this wasnât needed?
Yeah we found that our pups would sleep through the night no accidents if we played hard and then took on a walk and bath room before bed and make sure to wake up early to let them go and it always seemed to work out.
Ok thatâs great data. Thanks my man!
God my puppy rips the potty pad every time! Can you help?đ
Maybe focus on outside potty training taking your pup out consistently how every many months old your pup is take them out that often in hours. So if 2 months old every 2 hours. Also try to discourage the playing with pads by whenever the pup starts to go after one replace with favorite toy. Try these little tricks and see if there is any improvement.
My pup rips the potty pads to pieces within 60 seconds. He is Only 14 weeks old and truly doing great . Accidents happen
Yes just rat it up or after peeing in the house and being caught he will literally go tun to SIT ON IT OR GO TO SLEEP ON IT
There teething
Same here
Nice celica @2:33
We actually had to get rid of it this last year đą miss it tons
Great video, I have two puppies started training at the same time. One has picked up potty, sit, and knows when I say stop. The other has picked up nothing goes toilet everywhere, eats all the pads, doesn't know how to sit. Why and what can I do? Especially with the potty side of things?
Keep the pup on the routine of regular potty breaks. Also walk both together if the one knows outside training the other might pick up on it just being around when the one pup does itâs business outside. Lastly discourage the playing with the puppy pads. Distract them with toys and play with them energetically to burn off any energy they might have and they should forget about the pad. Reward the one that knows sit and walk the one that doesnât know sit thru the basics trenching sit is the most important thing they can learn so work on that daily. Little by little and reward for the small gains.
@@onthegofrenchies thank you so much for your reply. I will try your recommendations. I have started rewarding the more trained pup more frequently and making sure the other sees she is getting rewarded for doing the right thing. I've felt bad and had been rewarding both with treats throughout the day. Probably my fault he isn't picking things up.
What treats do you give your Frenchie
We change our treats up a lot for training we try to pick a low calorie snack for them and we always mix fresh fruit like blueberries into their diet but in moderation
How long does it take for the puppy to learn to go to the pad only?
Every puppy is different some pick it up right away some take months
Do you have any treat that you recommend for a puppy? Mine hates treats đđ
You can try some real food like strawberries, apples, real bits of chicken cooked with no oil or seasonings, anything small portion and safe for dogs but for training purposes I recommend training treats because they are low in calories and fats we have used these fruitables amzn.to/3qmhQj7
My dog makes a mess with the pads :( how do I correct this?
If your dog plays with the pads and makes a mess of them as soon as he begins to behave that way intervene with his favorite toy replace the pad he is playing with with the toy, distracting him with the toy so he forgets about the pads. play with him for a while encouraging the play with toy and if he reverts to the pads just says no and regain his attention on the toy.
Ciao! Possibile i sottotitoli anche in italiano, per favore?
Ciao! đ€
I have a 7 week old French bulldog. This puppy just constantly runs off the pad, I catch her and take her back and tell her to go potty and off she goes. I need help
My puppy has picked out every single corner or places where he canât be seen. I normally put a pee pad in those areas but then he finds a spot right next to the pee pad and goes there! Smh I feel like he sometimes is purposely messing with me. Other times he uses the pads with no problem lol . Heâs definitely still learning heâs only 3 months lol
Being only 3 months old he is definitely still learning. Remember to be patient and donât give up he will pick up on things so quick in the next couple months
@@onthegofrenchies i cant wait but yes Iâm being patient with little Wellington and Iâm giving him plenty of rest as well heâs an extremely good boy . My
Only other complaint is that heâs biting almost everything! I have a few chew toys that he loves but when he gets bored I catch him chewing on corners and even all metal things like pillow zippers, workout equipment lol but we worries me I caught him with a piece of thick glass and lucky nothing happened but ohh mann I was shook đźâđš
For the chewing anytime you catch him playing or chewing on something he isnât supposed to be chewing on get him to stop and drop it and replace with a his favorite chew toy or treat. We love Yak Cheese. You just need to watch when it gets smaller that you dog doesnât try to swallow it whole
My stupid Goldendoodle still go while im
Yelling cuz I caught her in actionâŠ
hey plz update ?? my puppy is only 8weeks old and doing exactly what your puppy was doing đą
i think he purposely pees a spot just right next to the pee pad !! I am getting crazy and not being patient .. this method is working for your puppy??
My border terrier pup just told them to shreds, what can I do ??
So anytime you see your puppy try to or about to rip up the puppy pads you need to distract them with there favorite toys. Play with them until they get tired. They have energy that they need to release and they are associating the pads as a new toy. This can take time to break but eventually they will leave the pads alone. Itâs also a great time to teach leave it during these play sessions have a pad near by and when they go for the pad say leave it and get there attention on you by using a favorite toy or treats.
Do you have any advice for me? Mine are nearly 3 and every morning Iâm coming down to wee on the bed, the kitchen floor and poo also! I love them but itâs driving me insane, I donât leave water down on the floor in the night, I let them out before I go to bed and first thing in the morning đą
Take them out first thing in the morning, after breakfast, after dinner, and a few times throughout the day and before bedtime. If they do not go, bring them back inside and immediately put them in their crate for 10 minutes before trying again. Do not let them loose indoors if they have not eliminated outside. They must poo and pee before bedtime. I know this can feel frustrating but older dogs can still learn and be trained. Be patient with them but also stand ground they must earn trust from good behavior.
@@onthegofrenchies thanks for replying! I think Iâm going to have to cage train them again, I took them out of it because they stopped weeâing in the cage but looks like they are going to have to go back init, they donât wee in the day as I leave the back door open so they just go out itâs of a night time and they always have a wee before bed aswell! Itâs driving me crazy it really is! I might have to start setting an alarm in the night to come down and let them out
Is it ok to bring them out so young? Iâm scared of my puppy getting parvo virus :(
Of course taking your puppy outside before getting all of his/her shots from the vet is risky. I personally waited until after our vet visit to start that part of the training, but you can always discuss that with your vet to work out whatâs best for you and your pup.
I take mine out on our backyard. Heâs getting his 3rd shot tomorrow. I was told it will be safe to take him out 5 days after his 4th shot.
It is ok only after he or she gets their 3d vaccine
My adult frenchie chews on the pads đą any tips? I got him as an adult
We donât want him to associate the pads as a toy so when he tryâs to play with the pads and rip them up distract him with his favorite toy or treats teach leave it and award him his prize. This is a great training exercise and he will eventually leave the pads alone and only use them for potty
How long does it take to train a 3month puppy
Every dog is different some catch on right away some it can take months to years. I think I used puppy pads for almost an entire year with gizmo because he just couldnât control his bladder for long periods until then but itâs not like I had pads everywhere I would leave one in each room for emergencies after about 4 months into his training.
†gorgeous
I did the pads in the pen thing with a play pen and a few pads, but for some reason my silky is super hardheaded. Treats when she does good. Everything but she still when make a decision to walk past the pad and poop on the floor, even though she peed on the pad all day. SMH
I understand the frustration. How old is silky? How long have you been training the puppy pads for?
Can I use puppy pads in a play pen,
While I am at work ?
And how long would you recommend using the pads until she starts going outside to do her business ?
Yes the play pen would be perfect for them and that is what we did with our pups we keep them in an small part of the room. For the outside question You can do both right away the faster your pup gets use to that itâs ok and good to do their business outside and the feel of grass the better. They will become accustomed to the feel of grass and puppy pads and know after weeks of training that those are the ok places to relieve themselves
I got a marl frenchie
Awww đ„° the marl frenchies are soooo cute
My dog is 3 months how many hours to let her outside?
You should take her outside every 3 hours
How long should I leave my dog on the potty pad if he doesnât need to poop or pee
Their area that they spend most of their time should always have pads if just starting this process, but are you asking if they have an accident off pad?
@@onthegofrenchies yes
Well the main thing is to always monitor them while not in their play area that is covered with pads. Interrupt them if they decide to start to go not on a pad because you need to be actively monitoring them. Then take them directly back to their padded area. if they go in their area reward them. Remember to never punish them because that would be counter intuitive for their training. For an exact time to leave them back in their area there is no exact time but is your best judgment.
HI, thank you for the video, I have got a 4 month old Pomeranian boy, I have tried the pad training but every time I put him on the pad he just does not stay, he immediately moves away and sometimes about 5 minutes later pees somewhere else in the room, my question is should I "force" him to stay by putting him back several times until he does his business? or how should I manage the fact that he does not stay in the pad? thank you
Good question I would recommend to pen him in an area that has pads this should be his safe area to pee. This area is sometimes easier if there is no carpet. This area he should spend the majority of his time. You can put his bed, water, food and even some toys in there with him. For outside this area accidents clean with an odor neutralizing spray and you can place a pad there incase he decides to return. Some dogs will find specific places to do their business and refuse to go else where. This will help if thatâs the case.
I have carpets throughout my whole house so my puppy is very confused i really need help
You can make a puppy proof area with a hard plastic kiddie pool and with flexible fencing then layer with puppy pads or there are some roll out water resistant Mats you can find instead of a kiddie pool or lastly use a laundry room, corner of the kitchen, or even a bathroom/ enclosed shower. Most of those areas are tiled and would make easy cleanup
My puppy will only pee in his kennel on his bad and does super good but also occasionally has accidents! I try taking him out but he never wants to go pee outside
I know the frustration anytime you catch him about to pee on his bed take him outside also make sure to clean the bed completely to remove the smell of pee. If he smells that he has gone there he may believe itâs ok to continue to do so.
Hi. What product can you recommend to clean areas they accidentally poop on to remove the smell?
we like this brand amzn.to/3zikQPH , but any pet odor cleaner will work
I have 3 question
1: will puppy mad work for adult dogs??
2: how much it cost??
3: how to clean it??
1.Yes puppy pads work for adult dogs
2.prices vary depending on brand and size and quantity
3. These featured in video are disposable but they do sell reusable ones that can be washed in washing machine.
@@onthegofrenchies Thank you so much đđ
Hey, nice video! I was wondering if you allow me to translate your video into Spanish and upload it to my networks, of course I would mention you. I look forward to your comment, greetings.
what if its winter đ„¶
There are companies that sell and ship directly to you a square of grass that you could use inside garage or on your patio that will get them use to grass that might help
Mine keeps chewing the pads :(
My new 12 week Pomsky puppy chews on and tries to eat the pads and will potty on the floor less than 5 ft away from it.đ€ŠđŸââïž
If you puppy has a favorite toy any time you see them playing with the pad distract them with that toy
I currently got a xl bully puppy my whole room is puppy pads everywhere and he still finds to find somewhere else to pee/poo, but he knows how to use the puppy pad so I dunno what to do đą
This training takes time so donât feel defeated. Work with rewards when they go on pads. Start with a space that they canât go potty anywhere but on a pad and reward them for that. Then increase the space with less pads if the Miss donât reward.
@@onthegofrenchies ok I will try this thanks ! â€
Not all puppy will do this my baby rips the pads. I bought a puppy pad holder and gonna try it out for a couple of days isee if that works, day one
he tried to rip the pad out of the holder
So anytime you see you puppy try to or about to rip up the puppy pads you need to distract them with there favorite toys. Play with them until they get tired. They have energy that they need to release and they are associating the pads as a new toy. This can take time to break but eventually they will leave the pad alone. Itâs also a great time to teach leave it during these play sessions have a pad near by and when they go for the pad say leave it and get there attention on you by using a favorite toy or treats.
Hi, I have a 12 week old pomeradian puppy we just got. We put potty pads in her crate, she refused to pee. We tried this spray called nature's miracle, House breaking. It didn't work. She occasionally pees on the pad, we reward her with treats. But sometimes or most of the times, she just holds it in and pees elsewhere! :( please help meee
So this process takes time. Your pup is just a little baby still. Not even 3 months old so she is still learning. Are you also training to go outside or just pads only? So when she has accidents elsewhere donât reward her like you have been doing. She will eventually associate treats with peeing if you give them every time she goes on pads and start expecting treats. when she doesnât get treats when having accidents elsewhere she will realize ok if I go on this surface I get treats and this one I donât. She will naturally start going on pads. Just keep up the process donât give up. I know cleaning accidents isnât ideal but with time she will get it.
@@onthegofrenchies thank you! Also, We only reward her when she pees on the pads. We would like for her to go outside, but she dosnt yet have all of her shots so we cant take her outside yet, but thank you very much for the tips!
When you start the outside training bring the treats in a pouch or in your pocket and continue the reward system I hope this helps and congrats on your new fur baby
@@onthegofrenchies thank you very much! She just went potty on the pad so we rewarded her with 3 treats this time, hopefully she caught on! đ
Oh yes me too
when do you stop giving treats?
Slowly stop rewarding them once they have got the training downs and only go potty outside or on one pad
My new puppy stays inside my kitchen and pees and poops on the ground although we have a puppy pad. My puppy does not really accept treats, and whenever we take him out he doesnât do anything.
Try taking your pup out more often and when he does eventually does go outside praise him and show all the excitement you can letting him know he has definitely did the correct thing.
Have you tried a few different types of treats?
@@jamesrogers36 Yes, he has gotten better though. He goes outside and he actually does something now, we praise him whenever he does it.
can you help me? i potty trained my dog when he was a puppy and he had no problems and out of no where at 9 months he started peeing on the floor and couch. he does fine when we take him out but he has started peeing everywhere indoors. he is mini male goldendoodle.
is he castrated? non castrated males will want to mark their territory.
@@spatrk6634 he is uncastrated
@@jjblank so yea, that could be a reason why he is marking inside of the house.
@@spatrk6634 oh okay thank you! will it pass over time or would we just have to keep taking him out frequently
@@jjblank you can keep taking him out regularly.
but unneutered males will want to mark indoors nonetheless.
he may stop, he may not.
My dog thinks the puppy pad is his timeout spot
I have a 3month boy frenchie and he is in a cage and he rips them pads up all the time so I just removed them
Yeah if you are using the cage for sleeping donât put puppy pads in there. We donât want him to associate bathroom where he sleeps. The pads should be in his penned off area. When he tryâs to play with the pads and rip them up distract him with his favorite toy or treats teach leave it and award him his prize. This is a great training exercise and he will eventually leave the pads alone and only use them for potty
Thats a great idea thxs
Problem is my Frenchie thinks these are toys and will tear them up when im at work :(
Mine to, he does it almost everyday.
My frenchie is so stubborn
Frenchieâs are known to be stubborn. Gizmo can be stubborn and grumpy on certain days so I understand just stay with the routine and your frenchie will get it soon enough đ
what if your puppy chews the puppy pads
As soon as you puppy tries to grab or chew the pads distract them with the favorite toy. They are associating the pads with toys. Work on drop it and leave it commands. They will learn thatâs not a toy eventually.
@@onthegofrenchies distracting with toys definitely hasn't worked >.
What do you do if all your dog does is chew the pads?đ
So this is common. Anytime they start to play with the puppy pads distract them from with their favorite toys or exercise training commands with treat rewards they will stop going for the pads over time. This will take some practice and patience.
I put my puppy on his pad when I knows heâs going to pee but then he leaves and pees on my carpet then I grab him put him on his pad and he donât do his business so I let him go and ends up peeing on my carpet again
If you can keep you puppy in an area that is not carpet like a tile area and restrict him to that area that will help with the clean up and second if you are training to use only that pad and not outside cover the entire area with pad so he canât miss. When he does go reward him. And slowly remove the pads until down to one or two pad continue to reward him. If training for outside reward for outside potty and do the same pad training but until all pads are gone
Hi my name is Berna Galvan and I need help me and my dogâs ruby Galvan
Why whatâs happening with your pup?
Some people donât got enough money to use 25+ pads đđđđ
You donât need to use 25+ pads just make your pets safe area much smaller. You can use a square playpen that only requires 4 puppy pads.
For my frenchie he poops on the pad but pees on one spot on the carpet what do I do??
The spot that he keeps going back to pee make sure to clean that spot with an odor neutralizing spray. Also you can place pads in that area so that he canât have an accident there instead he will be forced to go on a pad.
@@onthegofrenchies Ok thank you so much you are a lifesaver !!
What if I cant place puppy pads all over the place
If you have a crate that is their main area or a small play pen area this will work in those situations as well. Keeping your puppy in a smaller area at first is always smarter because you donât want them to take over the entire house it will be harder to train them in such a large space. A small corner of a room that you fence in is perfect.
I think its a great idea but it might be hard because you have been with your dog for longer and i have a puppy not a dog
I started this training when I first got my dogs and now they are completely house trained and also know puppy pads so itâs never to early to start đ
My dog won't go outside to poop during hr day but always pee and poop in the house at night
Itâs ok. How old is your dog? Just remember puppies are still learning and house training can take several months.
My stupid Goldendoodle puppy still go while Iâm yelling my lungs out at herâŠ
Dog is eating now all the Pads, need a video for training him not to doit
So anytime you dog tries to eat the puppy pads distract them with their favorite kind of toy draw their attention away from the puppy pads and to you with treats once they release the pads and go for the toy
