  • Hello.
In this video i meet up again with my friend Isabel and we head inland to the south, to a charming town called La Riba, about one hour's drive away.
Famous for making paper, the town and beautiful surrounding area still have many of the original buildings and mills where the paper was made. Some are derelict going back as far as the 12th century, but they make for beautiful landmarks, especially once in the mountains and wandering by the river.
A very challenging hike with a variety of terrain which takes us approx 600 metres above sea level into the stunning Prades mountains, surrounded by woodland, rivers and waterfalls. At times we had to hold onto guide ropes and cling to the mountain edge to get to our destination but every step was worth it.
Thanks for watching and enjoy the video.

Cheers fellas. Yeah this is an awesome spot. In fact I hope to get out there for a wild camp soon. I'll take my travel hammock which can be used as a bivvy with a bug net and put the tarp up. I'll definitely be dipping in those pools too for to cool down. With my athletic body that'll be an eyesore for the viewers 🤣✌️

    Hi Martin.
That looks like a nice spot. You looked like you enjoyed yourself climbing around those ledges above the pools. it looks like an ideal spot for camping !! with the water falls and pools. It could be a romantic night out with a bottle of vino tinto, and probably best to let Isabel bring the food. Her sandwich's looked better that yours. All the best and look forward to seeing your next adventure. Take care
    👍

Nice one Martin, looked like a good hike apart from the soggy sarnies 😂. You'd have fun on some of those sections with a backpack full of camping gear mind! Was there much scope for hammock camping there?

Hey Ben. Yeah, worst sarnie ever! There were places to hammock and some great places to bivy too. My plan is to take my DD travel hammock which can be used like a bivy with the bug net and have a tarp over. Down by the river it would be perfect, especially when it's warmer. Great place to have a dip too! Accessible by road too and I noticed a few campervan places to park too, should you be over this way again. ATB mate :-)

@@whatsnottohike ah nice, it looked like a great area. Using the hammock as a bivi is a good idea, much more versatile than a tent. Atb mate 👍

@@Adventure-Outdoors yeah. I'd go back in winter and use the tent but from now until Nov/Dec I'll use the hammock in the tree or as a bivvy. Can't believe it's only an hour on the train to the start point, not sure why I'd not found it before now. Glad I have, great spot! Cheers! 🍷
