it's finally here! this video is a bit on the longer side but I wanted to include as much of each row as possible for those of you who need to watch the pattern a few times before you get a hang of it. if it's easier for you and you don't need to see it repeated feel free to skip to the next row using the timestamps in the description :) as always feel free to comment any questions (or just say hi!)
for me to remember:
row 2: dc 6,
** ch 2 sk 2 stitches dc 3rd stitch
dc 3 more (4 in total)
ch 2 sk 2 stitches dc 3rd
dc 15 more (16 in total)
repeat **
row 3: dc 7
* ch 2, sk 2, dc into stitch before hole
dc 2 into hole, dc into next stitch
repeat *
ch 2 sk 2, dc into 3rd stitch
dc 9 more (10 in total)
row 4:
dc 4
** ch 2, sk 2 dc into 3rd stitch
dc 2 into hole, dc into next stitch **
ch 4, trc (treble crochet) into hole
ch 4, dc into stitch before next hole
repeat **
dc 3 more (4 in total)
at the end, ch 2 then slst to join instead of dc
row 5:
ch 4
sk 2 stitches, dc into 3rd, 2 dc into hole, dc next stitch
** ch 5, sc into hole, sc into trc, sc into side
ch 5 again, dc into stitch before hole
repeat 4 dc ( stitch, hole, stitch)
ch 2, sk 2, repeat 4 dc (same above)
repeat **
3 dc into LAST hole, slst
row 6:
ch 2, dc 2 into hole, dc into next stitch
* ch 6, sc into hole, sc into 3 sc, sc into hole
ch 6, dc into stitch before hole (repeat stitch hole stitch)
repeat *
row 7:
ch 4, sk 2, dc into third
3 dc into hole
ch 5, sc 3 into middle three sc
ch 5 again, 3 dc into hole
dc into next stitch
ch 2 sk 2 dc into third (to make another hole)
You’re more help than the video thank you so much 😭
Row 8:
Ch 2, 2 dc in hole, dc in stitch after hole.
Ch 2 sk 2, dc in stitch before loop, 3dc in loop
Ch 4, tr in middle sc, ch 4
3dc in loop, dc in stitch after loop.
Ch 2 skip 2, dc before hole, 2dc in hole, dc after. And repeat.
row 9 : 7 dc (including chain 2)
*ch 2, sk 2 st, dc into st right before the petal
3 dc in the petal, ch 2, 4 dc (3 in the other petal + 1 right after)
ch 2, sk 2, 10 dc*
repeat
if anyone is struggling with the starting chain and joining it without twisting it like i do then i recommend doing dc all the way down the regular chain and then joining it after
There's an easy trick to keep your starting chain from twisting. Chain just a few, then remove the hook, put the starting end on your hook, then put your chains back on and continue chasing, leaving that first chain on the hook. When you're done chasing, just join the two and your chain won't be twisted.
I know I didn't explain how well. There is a very clear and concise video you can find to show and tell you better than I did. I just wanted to share that there's an easy fix for it.
100% - it's the only way to do it !@@deboraheubanksrafferty
omg thank you so much!!! your tutorials are by far the easiest to follow and i have been hoping you’d upload another soon! i can’t wait to make it :)
omg this comment made my day! thank you so much tara 🫶🫶
I’ve been seeing this pattern everywhere and I’ve been looking for someone to make a tutorial on it! Thank you so much Anna, so excited to make my own skirt!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I did four rows of flowers and I turned out perfectly, I just wore it at a festival and got lots of compliments :) it was a lot easier than I first thought but I’m still proud for completing it and you can be really proud for making such great videos :)
I am so happy you’re back making tutorials!!! I wanted to update I actually started my first project and it ended up being the long sleeve crotchet top from your channel. I am not done yet as I have to make the sleeves longer but it was so much fun that I am still going to do the other top from your channel as I just went and picked up several yarn colors. This was yet again a great tutorial. You are a natural born teacher and I thank you for sharing your talent with all of us especially for me as a beginner ☺️
aww thank you so much for supporting my channel!
yay! i am currently following this pattern rn and it gives me so much confidence that i was able to crochet a design into a piece, which ive never done before. i can’t wait to see the finished result!! cheers for this pattern and the lovely tutorial ❤
The best crochet tutorial channel I've ever seen here so far! ❤
love how clear ur instructions are :)))
Just stumbled across your channel (thank you algorithm!) And I gotta say, you are gorgeous, stunning, talented, and have a super calming voice. Thanks for the tut!
stoppp you are so sweet! thank you for watching and i’m so glad you made it here 🫶🫶
REALLY a nice tutorial! I'm almost completely new at crocheting, and I found that the instructions in this video made sense and were super well structured! Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
@@anna-greene Very!! :D
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I️ love my new skirt can't wait to wear it in the summer!!
you’re so welcome thank you for watching 🫶
thank you thank you thank you! this is the cutest skirt ever😍
aw thanks for watching!!
Just finished my skirt and loved it so much I’m going to try and make a matching top somehow!! Also just saw someone who wrote the pattern down and thank god haha!
Loved this pattern!!! Easy to follow and soo cute
❤️❤️❤️
I just have to buy another skein and then im good to go!! So excited to make this
Thanks for the tutorial, it looks so great and your instructions were perfect
thank you for watching!!
love the video & the skirt, thank you so much!
if you are a beginner at crochet i would recommend writing down the pattern, it became so much easier when i wrote down because i didn’t have to go back in the video every time i forgot the next stitch. also another tip is to use a thinner needle, i used a 2.5 millimetre which i thought the flower looked better but this is just taste you can use any needle that you want to
I just started making this! It’s great tutorial! ❤❤❤❤
So beautiful! Thanks for the tutorial 💞
🫶🫶 thank you
Didn’t realize I was 8 stitches off until I finished the 1st row of dbl crochets 🙃 imma keep going and see what happens cause that took me forever and my fingers hurt LOL
Awesome design 🧶
yay new vid!!
🥳🥳
This is great thank u sm!
Hello!! If im using a thinner yarn with a 2mm hook, I should do the same count of stitches for the flower motif ?
this is so pretty!! would love to see a matching top that goes with it^.^
ahh thank you! nikita nightingale and kamryn cain have good tutorials for sweaters with this pattern but i can try to come up with some sort of tank top or something :)
that would be so cute!!! maybe a little short sleeve with a sweetheart neckline would be so adorable and feminine!!
Hi anna, thank you so much for the video! It took me a while to get it correct but I just finished my first 10 rounds.
I was about to start again with my new row 3, but when I chain 7, I land straight at the hole. But completing the 10 rows, everything worked fine! Do you have any clue what could be my issue?
Thanks!
Oh. Thanks for the tutorial
Anything I can do for a quick fix if I find that my piece is twisted after the first round? :( I swear I flattened it out before I slip stitched the two ends together but sure enough I realize it's twisted after I finished round one!
Thank you for this tutorial! I’ve been looking for this one year now! Could you make another tutorial but the shorts version of this flower pattern?❤
i’ll add it to the list :)
Pleaseee😭
Okay for the the beginning I chained 168 then added 15 because If I would've added more then that my skirt would've been to big. So for my second row where we started the pattern in stead of me adding the 4 then the 16 I attached the 4 to the beginning 10 giving me 14 dcs. 16:38 if that makes sense. Do you think that will affect the pattern too much?
Hello! Just wondering, after you slip stitch do you turn your work?
Came across your tutorial of Flower Skirt. Figure I’ll make this for my great granddaughter for the beach. Looks easy till my old brain gets jacked up. I keep going back on video to see what I did wrong. Now I’m stuck on row 8 or 9 in the beginning part. The row is going down to 5 chains for the flower. It’s ending of the flower row 6 ch. I slipped stitch then started out but it’s not coming out.
Anyone Help please.!
Anyway when I go back and look at video your left hand blocks where I have to see what hole.
Love your videos. Thank you so much for putting this up for people. Your a great beautiful model too.
Thank you again Rebekah
Hi Anna! How long will it take me to crochet this? I'm a size 36/38 and want to make it for my beach holiday on the 30th of December??
Hey just wanted to say that your fishnet shrug tutorial was really helpful, i’m currently still working on my project. Keep up the good work.
Thanks:)
thank you so much!!
hi!! do you think we could do a foundation double crochet stitch to start this out instead ??
yes absolutely! in fact that’s def what i would do if i did this again!
So do you use a yarn that requires a 4mm hook but use a 3.5mm instead
Hi Anna! Finally finished this project and i’m in love with how it turned out, thank u sm for the awesome tutorial! one of question-I used the bernat yarn and I was wondering whether u think it’s smart to get this project a little damp or maybe try and keep it totally dry?
getting it wet is fine!
Love ur tutorials :) u should do the flower sweater next
thank you :) nikita nightingale and kamryn cain have good tutorials for flower sweaters!
@@anna-greene ahhh thank u sm :) I will check them out
is there a written pattern for this design?
Hi how do I make this one size bigger ??
OVER AN HOUR OF ANNA GREENE YES PLS 😫😫😫😫
YEAAAAAH
Love your nails!!!
aww thank you :)
do you think it'll look good if i add a same fabric colour lining on the inside?
ooo yes! it might look even better with a slightly lighter-color lining so the flower pattern is easier to see
Hi do you have a written pattern available at all!
I have a question :) i struggle at the first row. I make 8x24 so i need 192 stitches but when i connect both ends does it count as a stitch as well? Cause i kinda have 193 stitches
hey! the chain you make should be the 192 stitches; the slip stitch used to connect the ends together doesn’t count as an additional stitch. just make sure you pay close attention to where I show you where you place your second and last stitches to make sure you don’t add any extra stitches in there
do you think i could do this with a weight 4 yarn ? or would it totally mess it up
you can! it’ll just be a little more bulky than mine but you definitely can :) (you’ll also want to use a bigger hook as well)
Loving from Brazil 🇧🇷
I love the way you designed the skirt, and your tank top goes perfectly with the skirt, you probably should have shown both the shirt and the skirt together but overall I love it. May I also ask where you get the shirt from?
hey! my gray tank is from brandy melville
I’ve heard of that brand and great experiences from it, was your shirt a ribbed pattern?
Quick question I’ve seen some people do 25 instead of 24 does it matter? Whenever I made my tops it was like for 3 flowers id chain 75 and for 4 flowers 100.
if you follow exactly what I do and do the multiple of 24 it should work out!
@@anna-greeneok thanks 😊
omg i love this - how long approximately will this project take?
hmm i’m not sure exactly how long it took but maybe 8 hours of total work??
this is great but next time could you please show exactly which hole we're supposed to go into at a better angle. usually i was able to figure it out but a lot of times it left me really confused as I couldn't see where exactly I was putting the hook into
can i get pattern?
So i did the first row and counted 2 and i went from 216 to 230 how did that happen...
Am I able to sell my finished product? Thank you!
hiii, quick question!! i've made various crochet projects, mostly bags and purses bcs when it comes to clothes i always find the same problem and i would like to ask bcs im getting frustarted!! :(((
when i knitted the first row i ended up with 168 chains to go around my butt, just like Anna shows on the video. the chain goes around and it's still decently loose, not to much not too less. when i've knitted the second row i find myself with a loop bigger than when it was originally on the first row, it stretches. i've counted the stitches and i still have 168, just like the begining, but my mesurments are bigger and the loop is loose on me. what's the issue here? how can i fix it??
im sorry if it doesn't make sense, english is not my first language!!
thank u !!
so for the first row, it will always be tighter than any other rows you do because you’re crocheting into chains, which have essentially zero stretch to them. So once you keep making rows and eventually get crocheting into double crochets, they start to have stretch and will get wider. That’s why you want to make your chains as loose as possible so you can get a better idea of how wide it’ll turn out once it starts stretching out
@@anna-greene Oohhh ok, i'll try it again!! thank you so so much!! xx
Btw if you guys do make a maxi skirt make it so its flowy. Mine is hard to walk in lmao. Gorgeous but you cant take big steps
If your waistband is too scrunched up try weaving it through 2 stitches instead of 5
You are so so beautiful and very good artist, really like your videos, like you and your making items.
how many chains do people make for size L?
Im normally a L-XL and I was right in between the 168-192 numbers so I went with the 192 so if I need to sew it smaller I could
Is there a written pattern???
Por favor me encanta pero me podrías poner subtítulo en español gracias😁😁
Also, you’re using the phrase “x loop from the hook” wrong throughout, if you chained 2 and then went into the second loop from the hook, you’d be going into the first chain you made
I’m in between two sizes, one too tight and one too loose 😢
You could swatch with another hook or another yarn :)

Harika anlatım ama altyazı olafak türkce yok olsa süper olur bende örmek istiyorum
The most helpful thing would have been to show the crochet diagram/chart of this pattern. Either the whole thing, or row by row as you go. It's not an easy one to instruct - but that would have made it a lot easier.
This could easily have been 30 minutes with more concise editing. It’s a good tutorial other than your hands sometimes covering what you’re explaining, though :) super cute pattern

This is the most scattered video I have ever seen. It is not a clear clean instruction. I have been crocheting for 40 years and the instruction comment saying , “put your stitch here” doesn’t tell me anything especially when you can’t see it on the video. I would not recommend this for a beginner as they would struggle enough learning the stitches. Please be more concise when you post next video. I love the pattern and the instructor is nice and sweet, but this video doesn’t cut it.
i am a beginner and have no problem following this, i completed mine in a couple of sessions doing a few hours each! i may have had to rewind some if i’m not looking at the screen, but she always will point out or have her finger through where the stitch needs to go if it is going through a big loop, or she will say “through the stitch before X” “the first/second/etc. single crochet from the previous row”, etc. also, this is a FREE tutorial! i’m sure there are plenty of patterns behind a paywall if you would like something more concise (: all the best ❤
Doing a little explanation for myself for each row as I go along, hope it helps for others
Row 4- 2,4,hole,4,hole,4,2😊
