  • I wanted to increase the length of this rod so I can cast my bait further. I fish around inlets and piers so adding 8 inches will help me reach a further distance. Thanks for watching and if you have any questions I will answer them. Please LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE!

Thanks for the good info man! I was wondering what you were talking about in the heat shrink video when you said you added length to the fishing rod. I appreciate the step-by-step as I'm now confident I could do the same!

did it cast further after doing the extension? i would have thought to make any significant difference you would have to move the reel seat and guides not just keep them in the same place

It cast a lot further compared to before. No you don’t have to reposition the guides or reel seat.👍

i've wondered in the past if i could use a nice rigid piece of pvc to slide over the butt of my rod and use it as a cheater bar to get more leverage and longer casts.. i need to try it

You can just need it to be a lil firm on the pole

What blank is that you bought I can’t find it on mudhole

I didn't build the rod I just extended the butt to make it longer. The blank that I used to extend the butt was just some cheap blank I bought at mud-hole that was on sale and I dont know what type of blank that was.

I don’t remember the size diameter I got so I would just order the smallest size and buy a reamer to make it bigger if anything !👍
