      Just know that you’ll likely lose cruise control when switching to an LED tail light on this body type GM truck. I didn’t find out until I did the lights. I do have a fix for it that I made a video on, though.

      @TonyTheTruckGuy  Před 2 měsíci

      Double check you have the bulb installed correctly and in the right position. If issue persists, plug the old tail light back in so you know if it's a truck issue or an issue with the new lights.

    Thanks for showing all the light functions. How are they holding up after 6+ months? Wish I could find a set that the C shaped light bar is the turn signal. Think it would look sharp that way.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah that would look cool. They are holding up well so far, only issue is I lost cruise control. Found out after the fact that it’s a common problem on these trucks when switching to LED tail and 3rd brake lights. Gotta wire a resistor into each light for the cruise, even though the lights don’t hyperflash. Other than that all good so far.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  Před rokem +1

      @@outlaws6477 hmm. Well there’s a few possible causes I guess. Either there’s a short within the new tail light, or you have some wiring on the truck side that’s shorting out. I’d pop that 1 light back out and remove the bulb sockets to see if there’s and obviously pinched wires or anything, then follow the light harness into the truck bed and check around there too. If there’s no obvious issues, I’d pop the factory light back in and see if fuses are still blowing. If it stops, you know it’s the new light and not wiring.

If you don’t find any issue there, then I’d pull your new lights out and see if maybe you have some wires crossed or something. If no obvious issues are found, plug old tail lights back in and see if issue persists. If the issue persists with old lights then you know it’s something on the truck side like possible ignition switch or body controller - whatever controls the brake lights.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  Před 6 měsíci

      If it worked before you changed the tail lights then you messed something up with either the reverse lights plugged in backwards or in terms of wiring. Otherwise I'd check fuses in the under hood fuse box and the fuse box on the end of the dash when you open the driver's door.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  Před rokem

      I’m not positive without personally inspecting, but it sounds like a short somewhere. Either the headlight switch internally bad, a bulb has a broken filament and touching another, or you have physical wires rubbed through on each other. There could be other causes, but this is my guess.
